They used the 2.5lt V6 from the mazda 626 and destroked it back to a 2.0 using the KF series crank, Then cosworth did up some heads for it. Google KLZE for info on the 198hp 2.5 V6. Beautiful engines.

pretty sure that mondeo belongs to Alvin Powell in the LMA serias, although a run in with a clio at pembrey left is pretty damaged on the driver side. Still goes like stink.

I actually like the sound of the 5 cylinder Volvos from the 95 season better, driven by Tim Harvey and Rickard Rydell.
That's not to say that a 300hp V6 Mondeo at it's 8500 rpm limit isn't enough to make you cream your pants... ;)
