@small12331 Have you tried to hold both the sleep button and the home button until it shuts off? Make sure your volume level is at 100%. Check under settings > General > sounds. Make sure your volume level and everything is set to on and 100%.

sounds to me like your ipod's hard drive has crashed. if its under 1 year old, you can send it back to apple for a new one but if its over 1 year...then your screwed. you can use it as a paper weight..?

Well unfortunatly you will loose the songs. Think of it like this; you have a computer but there is no way to power it. When your iPod syncs with iTunes, iTunes copies the songs onto your iPod and when it's done, it's like iTunes "plugs" the power cord into the computer. Sorry if you don't understand that. But ya, your not gonna get those songs off it. Tell me how it goes

Well if I had to guess, meaning I have had that type of problem before, restore your iPod classic using iTunes and then try copy all the songs again, I think the problem is that the "finalizing" stage didn't finish before it was disonected from the computer. try taking the headphones out and then try getting new head phones. try my method a few times and if it still ist working... you may have scrapped you headphone jack.....but the methods i gave should do the trick oh yeah, make sure your headphones are in all the way.
