  • Also a message to that girl on the off chance that she may ever see this message. You are a very beautiful person but you are even more beautiful when you smile. No matter how your faith / belief in God or religion may change, please do the world a favor and keep smiling. Do not listen to other people and let them tell you where you do or do not belong. Only you can make that decision.

  • I am an atheist but if there is one piece of the bible I actually enjoy and believe the entire world should actually follow it is the story of the life of Jesus before his crucifixion.

  • The Bible??? Ficticious rubbish to make this young lady feel like shit about herself??

  • @drdave313 The Bible would actually tell her that she would be accepted by God just as much as anyone else if she has an open heart to receive Christ. But I can understand where your coming from. People have stopped reading the Bible; and started reading people who read the Bible, and unfortunately a lot of them are jerks. But that's not what the Bible is about.

  • I'll go to the Tavern with him and then kick his ass and steal his robe!!!! LOL!!!

  • There is no "Big guy in the sky" Your only judge is yourself...

  • amen.

Grace is unconditional. Unconditional Grace is what actually changes your condition. thank you for this video.

  • @MrDanJBailey How do you know that grace is unconditional? What exactly have you seen (and videotaped)?

  • @farvision That's a good question. I don't believe a video will give you the answer. This question has bugged me a lot in my life, so I have searched for the answer in the Bible. Here are some of the key verses to look at, but the entire theme is reflected throughout the entire Bible.

    Ephesians 1:7, 2:5, 2:8-9, Romans 4:5, 5:8, Galatians 2:21, 1 John 4:19

Now I will also say that I believe when Christ touches some one, he changes them. But the change is a result, not a requirement.

  • @MrDanJBailey but before one even looks in the bible, how do we know that what's in the bible is not some kind of scam?

  • Even if the premise that religious counseling can help someone that is going trough a self-destructive period is accepted, that doesn't help the claims of religion about the supernatural. Many different religions make the claim that they can help people, and nothing but the effects of the human interaction between the members of the sect have been found to be responsible for their recovery.

  • Explain all the crap being thrown at Jessica Ahlquist. Why don't I hear a single peep of objection from the theists thrashing the crap throwers? I have to conclude that you theists are either meek sheep or blood thirsty and not one of you is capable of thinking clearly.

  • Everytime I see it, I cry. And then the awareness of my calling arises again. So, let's get movin' christians!

  • /watch?v=K48-Li7lIfA

  • =)

  • I think that church is a hospital for the broken .. Your suppose to be what you are and not hide it. Some Churches only let the "good" people in.

  • Lovely. But after all of that Jesus would tell you to stop drinking and follow him. To endure pain that he took. And would tell you as he hung from the cross that you diserve this, not him. And with confusion I'm sure you'd ask(assuming you've never heard of him), "but what have I done?" His answer would be "For being born you have inherited sin."

I would walk away simply thinking "How do people think this is a good man?"

  • @blues999 The point is that we did deserve that death. We didn't inherit sin, we commit it. Jesus never blamed us for the death he had to die; he willingly surrendered his life so that we might live. If we truly understood that every sin we have committed and every sin we will commit is forgiven by the death of Christ, then our question wouldn't be "what have I done?" it would be "what can I do now for your sake?" We should be willing to give up drinking because of his willing sacrifice.

  • @CuriousBenevolence There is no logical connection between the mythical death of 'jesus' and our current lives. That's a lie. Please stop lying about things you don't actually know. Look at what you are saying. It's delusional.

  • @farvision It's unfortunate that you think so. We derive all the way we act from the things we believe, so it absolutely has a connection to our current lives. If I truly believe that Jesus Christ died on a cross for my sins, then that colors how I act in every way.

  • @CuriousBenevolence The connection is that you believe there is a connection and so there is one in logic? If you believe that 2+2=5, it doesn't make that so. There is a story that claims a connection, but there is no physical or even mystical explanation of how it works. Its all magic and 'faith' (ie believing what you are told even though there is not logic so that the person telling you makes a cushy living off of your hard work).

  • @farvision I don't know about you, but I choose to believe what I want to believe, not what someone tells me to believe. There are many reasons for my faith and you don't have a right to tell me that there isn't a connection, even based on what you're saying. Don't degrade someone else's beliefs just because you don't believe in them yourself. You rely on logic where some people rely on faith. It's not magic. If he's God, why should he have to fit in our box of "logic?"

  • @CuriousBenevolence faith is the trained inability to be unable to think. You in fact are being guided by your religious masters who told you what to believe. I object to stupidity, such as faith. I put it down because you guys are hurting people and harming the planet. It IS MAGIC. How could you be so stupid?

  • @farvision Sure, I'll give you that much: there are people who claim to truly love God and still harm the world, but if the girl in this video stopped herself from taking her own life because she finds worth in God, then I think you should reevaluate what you're saying. It's just plain low to go around commenting on youtube videos like this one and tearing people down. That, in my opinion, is misguided and wrong. Have some tact.

  • @CuriousBenevolence get her some real science based medical and social help, not 2000 year old mumbojumbo.

  • @CuriousBenevolence Tact is highly over-rated. However, directness is not.

  • Lets save ALL people. When god goes to toss all those millions into flame(or allow wtf ever) i dare you to stand up and tell him this is wrong you cowards.

  • BTW, you judged me now. You called me a, "False Convert". Good job.

  • However, if I were that girl, and I read these comments, I would be devistated by the lack of love shown to one another by two supposedly believing Christians. We are given the responsibilty to model the love of Christ to others, wanting to win an argument publicly is prideful and not a Gospel driven message.

Romans 14:19 - Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.

  • I am saddened by many of the comments left on this video, I must ask the believers whom feel the need to argue about it, do it via private message or email. 2 Timothy 2:23 tells us to avoid these quarrels, they breed anger and hatred. It is good the wrestle with what the Scriptures say about sin, grace and forgiveness, your testimony, and as John is talking about here, how we interact and reach out to the "unpresentable".

  • This is the kind of touchy feeling dribble with an undercurrent of self righteous humanistic anger that seeks to undermine the HOLINESS of God almighty.

Make no mistake, God will not be mocked.

GOD IS LOVE. Therefore because God is love. HE MUST HATE SIN.

If you try to come to God without repenting (turning away from your sin to Jesus in faith) He will reject you and send you to hell.

  • @Kellymedl So you are suggesting that your "status" on sin is more important than the faith in Jesus Christ Himself?

  • @FuckVEVOHD well said and to be expected from a God hater.

  • Those who are part of the big church who judge and shut out people like this girl are why she is the way she is. She wants to see, and in the eyes of one who does not see, she will naturally look to a fellow human for help, but instead, they get a Bible thrown at them, and judged as a wicked blasphemer. How does that help them? This poor girl needs the love of Christ in the form of another person. As followers in His being, we are commanded to love ALL, even the unfaithful with all our hearts.

  • @rippingthroughmetal God (and by default true Bible believing Christians) will never turn away a truly repentant sinner (such as myself) who has a desire to turn from their sin (repentance) towards Christ in faith. What you want is a social gathering where you can keep your sin.

"I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

This is Jesus talking and referring to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah for their homosexual abominations.

  • @Kellymedl Wrong, bro. I despise my sin, it's what I hate more than anything. Because of your Bible-thumping, you missed my entire point: People like this girl need help. Jesus loved spending time with the sinners because unlike people, such as yourself, He refused to shut them out and say, "Ahhh to hell with ya!". He didn't spend time with them because He loved sin, but because His job was to comfort and save the lost. And where else to find the lost than in those places?

  • Wow. This is exactly how I feel. I'm sick of the church these days. Kellymedl is a prime example of why the "church" is what is truly destroying lives. Too many religious punks just bully the unfaithful, and tell them, "You will go to hell for your wicked ways!" That is NOT how you are to act. You people have no idea how indifferent from the unfaithful you truly are. We are one in the same, and as the same, we are to love another. Jesus wants you to LISTEN, not judge! It is not our place!

  • @rippingthroughmetal I judged not one time. I point to the Bible where God the rightful owner of you and me and everyone on this earth WILL judge. If you claim to be a Christian and do not think God will send people to hell for their sins then you are most likely a false convert. Revelations 3:16

  • @Kellymedl Haha, how fortunate for you that I saved your reply to me in which you absolutely DID judge.

"You will not enter heaven and you will prevent others from entering."

    Such hypocrisy.

Apparently you don't understand what "judgment" means, because it is EXACTLY what you did in that comment. Judgment (deciding who will enter Heaven and who will enter Hell) is God's work.

Well, look here, everyone - God is a member of YouTube now! Praise Kellymedl!

  • @Kellymedl Yes, you did judge, actually. You called accused another user here, calling them a "God Hater", that's judgment. Also, sin doesn't send you to hell. The lack of faith in the life and death of Jesus Christ will. You can commit a hundred murders in a day, but at the end, if you confess Jesus Christ is your LORD, He will welcome you into Heaven. Because in the end, all that matters, is if you believe with all your heart and soul.

  • This was very much me 25 years ago. I did not want no part of God because of how others portrayed Him. I did begin to seek God because of the hopelessness in my life. I knew I was dying. When I called out to Him, he answered me with the hope of love, that He did love me, and that I was forgiven. I gave my life to Him and He never stopped showing me His love. Finding this video was an answer to prayers in how to share with others my past and my hope today. Shirley Smith, President His Ministries

  • I see very little of GOD here. Jesus said to repent lest you perish. He called the woman at the well out of her sin of fornication. You make it sound like GOD (Jesus) sat around drinking beer with the tax collectors and drug addicts. This couldn't be further from the truth. Jesus had mercy YES but his KEY talking point was SIN. Why? Because SIN will send you to HELL. The end. This video seeks to undermine Jesus' true message of repentance and faith. God will not be mocked.
