I came across this randomly, and I'm going to take back my words. Call me what you will. This clearly has Soul, and I actually thoroughly enjoy this. And I respect the Dream Theater team very much, As well as respect Mike Portnoy's decision to join Avenged Sevenfold. I'm tired of people putting a price on people's live's based off of Sheer opinion. It disgusts me to be honest. Both bands are amazing. And the Rev was a tremendously talented drummer. R.I.P Rev.

Okay I gotta say it: Dominici sounds absolutely magical here. It's too bad his live versions were pretty poor because I vastly prefer his performance on here to Labrie's voice in general, though "Awake" is still DT's best album.

As i started listening DT with this album i must say it's their best album for me, they were great until Awake, then they drowned in their own complexity. And of course, Dominici kicks as over LaBrie! Just an opinion, clockwerkkilla420.

Fates Warning, Crimson Glory have the power metal elements what we call US power metal which is a mix of everything.. progressive, thrash, heavy, power. Hard to define but Dream Theater is not that anyway. It doesn't matter to me as it is metal after all :)

Naw, I know many who dig his voice. I mean, it's easy to hear the limitations, but I think he was great as long as he didn't have to go too high. That's one of the main problems with his singing, the lines he sang were too high for him, and he couldn't deliver them with sufficient power.

No wonder they replaced him with Labrie, but Labrie's voice hasn't held up all that well. Dominici still sounds fine.

Thank you. And yes I own many DT bootlegs as early as 1993 and most of the time, Labrie's voice sounds so strained he always sounds like he has a sore throat and even when I saw them in concert. He looks like he is in pain!

Dominci can't hit some of the notes but that's not his fault even with vocal training there is only so much you can do. I just wish Dominci after this band went on to sing for another prog metal band but it took him like 15 years.

EXACTLY! Thanks I am glad someone else agrees with me. Dominici's tone is brilliant and it creates the perfect atmosphere with the instruments. I saw DT twice last summer and both times Labrie's voice sucked and he looks like he is at the point where he knows he's getting paid no matter what so he doesn't even look like he gives a fuck anymore. He is a hit and miss.
