  • ok in march 2005 my mare had a filly and then 4 days later my other mare had her filly(note both of the mares are mother and daughter but mated with the same stallion that is the fillies sire) so what would make my 2 fillies? like half sisters or aunts of one another? lol im confused.

  • Thank you we have just found out our mare is pregnant but we don't know the due date, this has really helped to know what to expect during my horse's pregnancy.

    Thank you,

    Libby

and if i dont go for a walk with her outsite she become like very very crazy !

so i hope its nog a problem if i walk with her.. i dont galop anymore. but she still wanna do that..

    so is that normal ?

  • Thank u so much for this video, i have a pony and we think she might be preagnant, the lady that sell it to us told us about it and we recently notice that milk came out, we tink she might give birth @ this month of january but we dont know when, we are kind of nervious cuz this is the 1st time experiencing this w a horse......i have some videos of her here on youtube.

  • @Pumanic OH!! I understand what you're saying now :) They can't tell the sex with an ultrasound though?

  • @colbaltwolf

Yes, that is possible, but if one does not do that, then saying colt is not correct. This guy sais "foal" in the vvideo, but some people are like "My horse birthed her colt today!" And I will be all like: "Congrats on a healthy baby boy!" and what does they answer? Oh yes...."It is a baby girl."

It is a big facepalm factor.

  • @Pumanic Exactly Just what I was thinking!! Colt is a boy (Stallion) Filly is a girl (mare!) :)

  • Is this old saying true that if a pregnant mare goes 11 months the baby is a filly and 12 months or more is a stud colt?

  • @Poochiebeckcity

Uhh...no? xD However, they say that if a mare for ex normaly have her baby around day 339, and she does not deliver until day 349, it is a greater chanse that is a boy, but still no guarantie. The boys just takes a few -days- longer, not an entire month. Of course there are horses that carry for as long as twelve months, I've never met one though. Mine birthed on the night between 339-340.

  • wow thanks alot

  • For me its a good thing that I'm going into Equine Veterinary so I wont have to pay lol.

  • great informational video
