  • fucking funny, alberts getting destroyed

  • A little diplomacy woudn't have hurt! I mean you invite a legend on stage and you mop the floor with him! I would have liked to see a little more respect for an old man! When you invite someone, you put him in the best position to make him look good and you yourself tone it down, you don't try to blow him off stage with your riffs. Albert King showed real class by smiling and joking with his coat.

  • Mr.Albert is an old man now there's no way he can be compaired to Gary,But in his day Mr Albert was the best ! As Gary is in his time.

  • @TarheelTad64 "Now" - you mean 1990?

  • incredible.. Mr. Albert King & R.I.P. Gary Moore

  • Gary's sound is so horrible....

  • "Let me see ya grill!"

  • man albert king is blues royalty

but i dont envy him having to follow a solo by gary moore

    & t/y for the tuber

  • nice

  • Gary moore is one of the best there was. Why these arguments? It was 2 different styles of blues. If he tried to show up AK then he did. Albert King distorted single notes. Gary Moore distorted entire cords. It is what it is, times have changed and the blues have changed.

  • HARD ROCK RIFFS ON STORMY MONDAY...GIVE ME A BREAK...I WOULD SHOW ALBERT A LITTLE RESPECT AND THE SONG TOO T BONE ALL THE WAY DOWN THE LINE AND WOULDNT BE SURPRISED IF I PLAY THIS SONG AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN ANY OF YOU GUYS.......AND SING IT TOO..

  • I'm so blown away, I can't write.

  • Absolutely fucking stellar! It just NOT doesn't get better than this.

  • gary ,como esuciaste esta cancion ,,mucha distorcion para este fino blues ,,,novato a el lado de king

  • @123456789FE 1st, Write in English it's an English site. 2nd, Do you really think Albert King would get on stage with a novice? 3rd, Stick to Julio Iglesias or go and study the blues. 4th, have some respect for the dead

  • Fuck yeah

  • fucking hilarious, moore is destroying king funny as fuck

  • blues metal

  • gary was a modest, deferential sort of chap, wasn't he....

  • it´s just ridiculous... for those gary haters.... play just one fuckin lick of the first solo with that tone and technique... until then, please, FO

  • gary was fantastic... damn it... forget the licks or the speed... just listen that tone... in the other hand, albert king is a legend... he could make me feel shivers with four notes. master of bendings and vibrato... i believe some guy, fuckin srv used to called him his master

  • I think Gary Moore was one of the greatest bluesmen from across the water. Rory Gallagher and Gary both grew up in Ireland. Two of my favorites.

Gary bought Peter Greens Les Paul ...now there is another phenomenal player.

The list goes on and on. Albert, B.B., Buddy Guy, Jimi, Stevie...you know where I'm going.

  • Why do people dislike Gary Moore?? He was was a phenom guitarist!

  • I'd also like to say for those who don't like Gary's style of playing, it's just another texture, another shade of BLUE goddammit. Some people don't like Albert King (not me, I worship the guy) but it's taste. You can't knock his ability just because you don't agree with the setting. At least he's playing blues and not some godawful techno-crap.

  • 13 people have never had a stormy Monday.

  • Pardon me for saying but that first Gary Moore solo was the fucking best blues solo I have ever fucking heard

  • Can't count how many times I've listened to this. Simply outstanding. Too bad they are both gone. Great music!

  • Look theres just no way Gary was trying to show off or upstage Albert. Albert always loved playing with the next generation who took his licks farther & faster than he could, b/c he knew he taught them everything they knew. It was a compliment to him. Right at the beginning of Garys 1st solo he bends the 4 on the 3rd string, hits the root on the first, then hits the 3 on the 3rd string...thats as "Albert" as a lick can get and clearly Gary is paying homage to one of his idols.

  • @3kingsofblues Well said, mate. I think it's bloody obvious Gary was a huge fan of Albert King. Not only did he cop a load of his licks, he wrote and recorded a song about the guy called "King of the Blues"! And no, he wasn't trying to "upstage" anyone. Gary was an in-the-moment play-how-you-feel type of guitarist. Restraint was hardly something that came naturally to him, the music just poured out.

  • Lol my friends guitar teacher played with Albert and did that and they unpluged him during his solo. And one dude asked about his pay and they left him in the middle of nebraska.

  • powerfull

  • How can anyone (musicians?) say anything about SHREDDING??? Come on this is BLUES not friggin' Metallica..............

  • LEGEND GARY MOORE RIP!!!!!!

  • Gary Moores' - Stormy Monday on steroids!!!

  • RIP Gary Moore [*]

  • both amazing! love Alberts tone and phrasing.

  • Gary can really play the blues. But albert said more with his playing than gary. Albert really talks

  • I bet The people hating on Gary Moore can't even string 2 chords together yet they act like they know it all..... seriously people this is blues mastery

  • now this is blues at it,s best

  • INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheSgt703 It only takes PRACTICE!

  • @TheSgt703 It only takes PRACTICE! Also Albert has been a bluesman since the 40's.

  • gary died from a rare guitar related disease that moved from his fingers to his heart. his fingers were moving so fast that his heart had trouble keeping up with their speed. he then died

  • @shane69999 boy, could he play fast!

  • @shane69999 boy, could he play fast!

  • The "team" thing: it's touching, the way the veteran black American bluesmen go along with Gary. Gary does the "show" brilliantly, but those old guys are so content to play their plain understated blues, and it works. Gary clearly adores them, but he never wanted to be understated, and they never wanted to "shred"

  • If there was such thing as blues shred, Gary Moore was the king of it.

  • Both of these guys are phenomenal. The music they made will long outlast their existence on Earth to all of us who know and appreciate amazing music when we hear it.

  • those guys are so respectable

  • I. AM. MESMORISED.

  • Last year I had the chance of seeing Gary Moore in Edinburgh, I wasn't really sure about going because i wasn't really into the blues. I bought a ticket and went with a friend because we are both guitarists and wanted to see how good he was! I'm so glad I had the privilege of seeing him, he totally blew both of us away and I'm now playing some blues myself. RIP Gary Moore guitar legend.

  • Gary and Albert together make a FUKIN great team, luv them on the song O PRETTY WOMAN one of the loudess songs on u-tube

  • Gary Moore ,this guy is just incredible! He's got the blues in his soul.

  • the blues is about leaving plenty of space in all the right places

  • leave alone Gary Moore mother fuckers!!!! He got more blues than you and me and the entire world.

  • Why have so many people got a downer on Gary. Are they all Johnny Mar fans ?

  • Great ! Thanks !

  • albert king is laughing! and thinking goddamn; "I have to take it up a notch" Both are legends, no way to compare them!

  • Gary Moore looks so pumped at 1:44. And Albert King is just like, "what the hell are you doing, white boy?" Ahhh, two phenomenal guitarists. I love the blues.

  • duo phénoménal

  • VINCE MARTIN TOURED WITH ALBERT KING AS A YOUNG GUITARIST AND HIS GREAT RESPECT UNTIL HIS DYING DAY... SEE VIDEO RESPONSE... STORMY MONDAY.... VINCE IS ONE OF THE FEW GUITARISTS WHO CAN PLAY ALBERT AS WELL AS ALBERT ... FACT!

  • Shows how many plonkers there are around - Gary Moore was probably one of the best modern exponents of the blues guitar and we've got prats criticising him. Oh well, I suppose they're happy in their own little worlds

  • fuck me, carles puyol is good at the guitar...

  • Haters going to hate. Gary played better, on his worse day, than anyone on this comment board could ever dream of playing. That is root of their frustration. Instead of working on their chops they're at their keyboard looking up gear for that 'tone'. Fucking tone is in your fingers, pansies.

  • @yogithecamel Well said man, well fucking said.

  • @yogithecamel WELL SAID MATE GARY MOORE LEGEND!!!!!

  • I like it where Albert is holding his coat open and Gary's guitar does a skwow and Albert jumps back! like it was going to bite him! lol

  • Jeez,,,, GM could have turned down the Distortion on this,,, outta step!! He doesn't know how to hold back!! Contrast with SRV's tone when playing with AK....

  • Two legends sadly missed. RIP

  • Gary looks like a satyr, but my god can he play!

  • Keep tuning Albert xD

  • 2 different takes on blues, 2 defining guitarists = 1 great song...

  • Gary I miss you so much !!!

  • Two greats, terrific, but Lee Michaela does the best Stormy Monday on his B3....these guys are great! But Lee Michaels is the best version, ever!

  • How the hell could anyone ever dislike this? I try to be open minded, and I know there is a crowd for everything, and an opposition for everything as a result. But how the hell could anyone dislike this. Go Gary. RIP brother

  • Albert King is very old here, but he still plays like a God.

Gary Moore played very good too, both of them are two of my favourite guitar-players and it's fun to see them play together.

  • Gary's playing is definitely way over the top, super hit and miss. He's a good player but I know he should be able to play better blues than here. It sounds like he's trying to be VH or something.

  • been a fan since Corridors of Power in the 80s. Love his moves, his energy and his writing.

  • ...the master with his student.......rip gary...still got the blues for you.....

  • Relax and enjoy it boys and girls - no undies in a bundle...

  • incredible guitar playing, a privilege to listen to

  • I really think Gary did everything but feal the blues, he completely misunderstood the song, man you were playing in front of Albert not in front of Halen.

    RIP AK

  • @facubarca i know what you mean man but gary plays rock blues

  • man i love albert but he def wasnt feelin it this night

  • @puffinonindo He was feeling, what confused you is the excessive feeling that Moore had (which, by the way, had nothing to do with the song)

    RIP AK

  • Gary was a amazing guitarist , Blues,Rock , Blues-Rock , Hardrock or Jazz-rock . A piece of cake for him . It was a honour to see him playing .

  • What a delight!!!!!!!

  • Iiy

  • Albert and Gary are distanced by time , space, skin colour and historically US segregation laws but joined at the hip by the blues which crosses borders and generations. Albert has a great voice and iconic blues guitar style.Gary plays great guitar -not all talents are aportioned equally. Well if it wasn't for a generation or two or even "Moore" of British and Irish Blues players you would not have heard of the three kings ! Gospel according to BB!

  • Well if it wasn't for a whole generation or two or "moore" of British and Irish Blues players we would never have heard of the three Kings let alone the baby Jesus! Who is the current bay Jesus - discuss!

  • so f'ckin fingerlicking good!

Do think Albert made Gary head out over the tops. Love Albert, love Gary.

    01:37 and 07:20

  • I don't understand how many of you people just cannot seem to realize that we have just been blessed by being able to watch two of the greatest blues guitarists ever, instead of all the BS, and jealous, petty remarks....Thanks for sharing such a truly classic video!

  • Gary needs to calm his shit.

  • Albert is Albert and Gary is Gary, they are doing what they do,and damn good at it,both are gone and will be missed most diffently, along with many others so if you dont like it tare you tickit up and leave so we can injoy,to many people with ego's busstin out there there shorts and not the front ither,oh and by the way,how is your music carear going, and are you making alot of money from it,and you know who you are, love ya mean it

  • Ridiculous behaviour by Gary Moore to assault Mr. King like that. Apart from Gary Moore Mr. King did write some legendary blues songs which will stay in the blues vocabulary forever. I never liked Moores super aggressive kind of heavy metal blues bullshitting and showing off.

  • I will probably get killed for this, but it appears that Gary is pulling out all the stops with an amp that has much more gain and starts doing metal type licks which is cool but not on the same stage as a legend like Albert King especially since Albert is in his later years. It comes off like Gary is insecure about his playing and wants to upstage Albert instead of being respectful. Gary gets such great tone from that LP even at lower gain and is a great jazz player too.

  • @MrWowtone Albert only played the blues. Gary wast just a blues player and if Albert didnt know that by the time this performance began he sure knew after it.

  • @MrWowtone I think you are full of shit- I did not feel this at all watching the clip. That is the way Moore plays and his style did not detract from King at all. They can both be appreciated for their own style--I saw no one trying to show the other one up.

  • Apart from the insane guitar playing, what i loved most aboyut him was how much he enjoyed himself and played around on stage, what a legend RIP

  • Mr Albert King, meet some real talent :)

Gary Moore - just on another level

  • .Recognize, Blues and Rock & Roll are strikingly simular in sound. For all that matters Blues and Country western are simular in words. Hmmmm? So seems the color of the skin doesn't really matter. The "Blues" is all the same whatever the face

  • Gary...simply a master! And more....! No words....

  • good sound !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that old man can jam

  • Lol so would ya say for the GREAT DUANE ALLMAN?????

  • @Phishboy26 You are soooo wrong. Gary Moore and Albert King were long time friends. He was playing around with Gary.

  • @Phishboy26 mann... both are legends, with different styles. But this is all show!! The smile on albert face, is like ohhhh my godd. This is gonna be legendary!!

  • @Phishboy26 you missed the joke

  • @Phishboy26 Oi bit more respectfull posting is in order.. tsk.

  • Comment removed

  • This brings back memories. When i was living in China I played an Albert King DVD for my girlfriends father Bin who played guitar. Bin was amazed as he had never heard guitar played like Albert plays it. He said it was almost as if he was playing a different instrument.

  • amazing - great mix of two wonderful talents

  • it is all about feelings and yes... Gary Moore does not seem to have it for the blues.... :(

  • Idon't have any hate for GM....but you shouldn't try to outplay enyone who comes up to jam with you xpecially the KING.....let the King, yor mentor shine !!!

  • @pecowart lmao, you're out of your mind if you think albert can even polish his shoes, Gary is on another planet brother.

  • What's with all the hate for Gary Moore?? I think this stuff is phenomenal. May Gary rest in peace.

  • @jimi2142 Right on brother I'll tell you why. Because many people are not relaxed in their minds and simply can't accept the fact that these 2 Blues men are phenomenal players, their critique says more about themselves then the ones they are criticizing,Vic.

  • @jimi2142 Damned if I know....Albert didn't appear to have any issue w/Gary's playing. I say 2 greats of the electric blues....bless'em both and may they R.I.P. .

  • @jimi2142

Gary Moore and remains the hum dinger of them all

  • @jimi2142 ITS THE SAME BLOKE MATE PUTIN GARY DOWN FOR TE LAST FEW YEARS ON HEAR UNDER DIFFERENT NAMES THATS WHY TRACTORS ALIAS PINFOLDER IS THE BIGGEST TWAT ON YOU TUBE LOL!!!!!

  • Its amazing how Gary Moore is so technical. .. but doesnt evoke that wonderful "blues" feeling that Kings does with his simple emotional playing. Albert king is the real deal!!! Gary Moore kinda reminds me of that dude at the music store who is trying to out play the dude playing next to him. hahahahahaha

  • It's so BREATHTAKING!!!

  • And that is why my guitar is now a coffee table !! :~)

  • @amadan9999

That's why I took up Bass...;)

  • @amadan9999 copyright infringement notice that this comment was posted time ago

  • @punk434

Sorry ? could you please explain that comment ?as i have no clue what u are talking about

  • King and the King. Albert is so into it. Just watch his face. Amazing take on white/black blues. Aka Clapton/BB.(Quote): Players only love you when they're playing...

  • Most Blues music sounds similar a bit "not in an offensive way" dont know about you but I cant get enough of the BLUES,,, amazing u can hear similar tunes and never get tired, BLUEs meee OF..

  • the Don is here..Untouchable Albert King

  • what is albert doing with his jacket around the 1:40 mark or so? He looks rather unhappy for a moment. hahaah. Amazing video though! I recently started digging through some Gary Moore stuff (and Albert King too) they were both amazing and will be sorely missed!

  • @Cam1092

King is playing a game of hiding Gary's guitar play behind his jacket, that's all :)

  • @rhaivaen ohhh I see, thanks!

  • It was pretty good, except for the Gary Moore part.

  • @TwelfthImam

then you need a lot to learn about feeling... and about music as well. :)

  • Down from the Earth we salute you both, legends :)

  • u can tell srv had a great influence from albert king cuz when they play they almost sound identical

  • Could we please leave the blues police out of this and just enjoy the music?

  • Albert wasn't used to playing with such a loud band..kept sayin' bring it down boys!

  • I agree , about Albert Kings guitar, that puppy is way out of tune , but that voice is so sweet for that song ! Gary Moore is doing what he does best , play guitar !

  • Gary R.I.P.

  • no no,the blues is about feeling and deep roots, they are so completely together.

    does the timing matter???????????

  • @karmapeach blues with bad timing sounds shit

  • no no,the blues is about feeling and deep roots, they are so completely together.

  • I know that Albert is horribly out of tune. In fairness, he just walked on a started the song!.

Like most of the old bluesmen, Albert is a much better singer than guitar player.

But only white boys know a good guitar sound when they hear it.

  • Am I the only one who thinks Albert's guitar is *extremely* out of tune?

  • @PGM09 What does it matter anyway?

  • this is music nuff said

  • WOW.

  • Albert is the man, Hands down!!!!

  • at 4:57....I call that bent note the "shut up gary moore note"

  • I had a dream last night that I got on stage with Albert King and played a hundred million noisy-ass notes at the same time while grinning like drunk three year old. I was releived when I woke up, and realized I'd only come to work in my underwear.

  • jazzguitar, it doesn't care, they both guitarist playing on stage and have a lott of fun!!!! It isn't a compitition or battle!! just enjoy man!!

  • Look at gary moore’s face...he is loving it...isnt that what the blues is about...how it makes you feel

  • Albert Kings face at 4:39 is priceless :-))

  • you hit the nail on the head. Alberts havin a great time alright.

  • Only one blues player on the stage that night.

  • Man! what a player Gary was

  • Jesus Gary could play

  • ten persons don't understand what a music is :D perfect :*

  • 7:45-8:20

    Perfection

  • Albert King and Gary Moore, what a performance this was.God bless you both, keep playing them blues to the Angels above, because we will never stop playing them here for you.R I P Sadly missed.

  • Who is Justin Beiber?

  • The messiah will come again!

    We want Moore!

  • justin bieber rated 9 times this video...

  • justin bieber rated 5 times this video...

  • they call it sad monday

    RIP

  • 9 people can't even play a barre chord

  • 2 legends!

  • Come on, Gary --- you do love the show, don'cha?

  • What a contrast. Albert doesn't play many notes, but every one grabs you by the balls. Gary runs you over. Fabulous stuff.

  • Amazing! I have had Mick Taylor and a number of other "Blues Purists," but wow! Love this!!!

  • Albert: Pling, pling, pling, pling and then Gary: VROOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

  • dos de los mas grandes desde el cielo

  • The Les Paul sounds so hot rodded compared to the flying V

  • @PICKNGRIN000 Its NOT the LES PAUL., its GM
