  • old man smoking pipe at 00:15. this clip has swag.

  • drunk toby is a funny toby....

  • I love how, in the scene before, we see Toby take the bottle of Jack Daniels when it is about 3/4 of the way full and then when we see it here it is completely empty XD

  • suicide is painless.......amazing scene

  • what episode is this? it's not in the DVD.

  • @pokersource It is season 6 or 7. It is Bartlett going to the funeral of the former President

  • @sahyder1 Actually i think it's season 5. And it is on my DVDs ;)

  • so great, i wish i could have toby as my bar buddie so whenever i get drunk at a bar he would be right there next to me singing the theme song to mash.

  • This is priceless. This is beyond priceless. This is one of those things when you immediately think "this is the most epic thing EVER" and then realize that the reason is epic is totally dependent on the amazing characters. And Toby was one of the best characters of Sorkin's creation.

On another note, this show was so good about showing, not telling, about the characters. Like Charlie lying to Donna and taking away Toby's drink, then slapping his hand away.

  • funny charlie is lying bout toby being drunk and all that

  • Toby...focus...

    haha

  • BEST. SCENE.

toby singing is just possibly the best thing- ever.

  • ya gotta love Donna

  • Charlie Young. Man....oh man.

  • I love the angry babysitter look on Charlie's face in this scene.

  • i agree...his irritated "I don't think so." are just hilarious

  • Funniest scene in the whole series

  • suicide is...painless

  • this scene will NEVER get old. gets me every time.

  • aww he is a legend. . .

  • My favorite scene xD!!

  • God, I love this scene.

  • I love the camera angle between the seats and how is hair is ruffled above his ears ashe is stressing about the whole idea of having to write the eulogy for Pres Lassiter. Great look.

  • this is a great clip

  • "Why are we descending? This plane, it's going down!!!"

hahaha. Just hysterical. I LOVE Toby.

  • Let's face it, the West Wing was genius. no more superlatives needed.

  • stop fighting on youtube xD

    stop fightin' ! mX

  • Richard Schiff was always fun to watch on this show. He could got from serious to comical in a New New York minute, and he played both with great skill.

  • This scene never fails to crack me up. Easily one of my favorite Toby moments!

  • I was just watching this episode on DVD. It cracked me up so bad! Now I can send the clip to all my friends & family who also love TWW (all 2 of them) to remind them of funny ass forgotten scenes like this! THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • This is one of the only redeeming moments of S5. LOL Toby, it never fails to make me laugh.

  • WHAT??? When was this???? I totally don't remember this, and I thought I had read the scripts/seen every West Wing episode.

  • It´s season 5, episode 10 "The Stormy Present"

  • I dont watch west wing but this is funny as fuck ....And I love the film "MASH" it rocks....

  • I loved this part. The West Wing is my favorite show of all time, second only to M*A*S*H.

  • That's one of my favorite Toby scenes (the other is the day after his day of jubilee when he's smiling and saying hi to everyone)!!! Thank you!!!!! Love it!

  • Charlie is so good at "handeling" these amazing, powerful people. Taking care of them without letting them know he's taking care of them. Go Charlie! PS...Love Toby singing Suicide is Painless while hammered. That Jack Daniels bottle was full at the beginning of the episode...LOL
