That's funny that others bring up the "clappers" as being a vague memory. I brought some of this stuff up to my mom recently and she looked at me like I was insane.
I remember all of these shows too! USed to love them!!
Back then going to Chuck-e-cheese was one of those rare treats. Just aint the same anymore. Same deal with Mc Donalds in the 80's.
On another note..MY GOD..I never realized how GAWD awful & loud the mechanics of the robots are. All I hear is gears and clunking. It's louder then the music. Jeeeeze!
that thing was so screwed up the things oved like they were gona fall apart, i was born in 1994 so i still saw the scary robots but not deformed like this!!!!!
Agreed. I was born in '93 and I've never seen these thing. I personally think they look fine for having to be restored. Thanks Matt and Captslappy for giving me a memory I never had!
Da hell? If you recorded this from the 80's and used one of the old video cameras from back then, then how did you posted this on youtube? I'm so fuck'n confused!!!
This is a show from the 80's but this was recorded in 2007. A fan of the restaurant owns these robots and the guy playing Chuck E. is another fan. They got together and performed this show for fun. And you can upload videos from the 80's using a composite video capture card or transferring the tape to DVD first, by the way. :)
What is a composite video capture card? And about transferring the tape to DVD sound a little bit complicated. Besides, I really don't have anything recorded from the 80's. Only the 90's. Can you do the same thing with the 90's?
A composite capture card is a device either internally on your PC or externally (Like the Dazzle DVD Recorder) that has the Yellow, White and Red inputs just like the back of a VCR or TV. And yes, you can do the same thing with any VHS.
Oh, I know those inputs. But it sounds like you just said that those inputs were on the PC which their usually not there. And it looks like it has to be installed. Well I'll post one from the 90's I've got recorded. Especially from one of chuckE cheeses. I've used to go to chuckE cheeses all the time in the 90's. Now those were the times alright.
Ok I've got the most random/difficult question. I really don't know how to ask it, but does ANYONE remember some weird flapper like wings and elephant feet that would play like tambourine's and jingles? They were coming out of the wall up to the right of the stage. Out in front of the stage a little bit. Someone please help me figure this one out! ha
I remember animal parts on the wall clapping. Like elephant feet, some holding tambourines. I remember a trunk and ears along with some other animal parts. It would clap at a end of a song or play along. It scared me but I did love it at the same time. Would love to see if there is a location that still has it to see it again.
Yes! I'm so glad that SOMEONE remembers what I'm talking about. Where are you from? I used to go to the one in Jackson, MS all the time. That is where I saw this "thing" on the wall. ha
i wish this was in my garage. it always kind of weirded me out to see the robotic chucky just kind of sit there dead whenever the costume chucky was around
because the live is from 88 and at this time helen was the perminant charater..and mike didnt have Helen cosmetics so we had harmony doing helens part!

I remember that as well. I also remember all the flags around the room that would move. The nostalgia of those vague little things is great.
