Even though this ending has some sort of meaning like animetanoshii's theory of it, I think they shouldve just had the last fight Tatsuma winning it and then having some understandable ending.

Hmmmm I wonder what happened to Tatsuma...is it just me, or am i the only one who thinks he became a cheery tree (sakura tree) so that they dont keep repeating the destiny star thing every 17 years? I'm so confused, such a sad ending, and i really want to know what happens to all of them, mostly Tatsuma. :/ Good anime though!

This is a flashback. At the end of the year, they decided to hold a class festival, with a play involving Hiyuu playing Juliet's role. Unfortunately, he disappeared (in the fight with Yagyuu), and as you can see, Aoi is reminiscing the time she spent with Hiyuu, or at least that's what I think.

This episode consisted of so many poignant scences. Cutting off right when Hiyuu was about to say thank you kind of implies his disappearance.

I really wish there was a third season...

guys as far as i know , sadly, theres no season 3... well i do love the seriers so much and i just watched all 26 eps in these 3 days lol ..... well and the reason why i dont think there will be another season is that... i heard this series is based on a playstation game in which the anime is an intro of what happened b4 the game starts... or sumthing like that.... so.... anyways thanks for uploading and loving his anime!! ^^

This can't be the end of it! I'm so confused! What ended up happening between Tatsuma and Ryujji? They didn't show which one of them won in their dragon form? We didn't even see the fight!

@oliviapatterson1 Apparently this is an alternative ending. This is just a happy ending so we can remember the group. The real story is Tatsuma chasing Ryujji, and Kyoichi chasing him. They will either continue in a season 3, or leave it as it is, Tatsuma fighting Ryujji. But i reckon they gonna continue.
