some people have no depth. if you're looking for something more entertaining go check the front racks at your local blockbuster. gus van sant is one of the most unique directors of our generation. he captures beauty between friends and landscape and doesn't need conclusive dialogue to tell a great story.
In case you didn't realize it, there's a bit of a METAPHOR here. I guess most people can't sit through something like this. It's a bit experimental, yes....but it didn't bore ME. Its silence was deafening. I felt like them. That was kind of the point. I was actually sad (and soon scared) as they were walking their last stretch together with the sun rising...powerful shit. If Kubrick were still alive, I'm quite certain that he would praise it.
I've seen students in video production make much better movies than this. OMG this was just so boring. I find it hard to believe there are people out there who actually love Gerry.
I agree. I thought it was awful. The lines were terrible, I have no idea what was up with the "hey, let's do ten minutes of staring at Casey Affleck's head, and then let's do another pan of Matt Damon's!" and "Oooh, random desert panorama!"
The fact that they decided to wander through the desert to go to "the thing" without any water, or any clue where they were going?
@ShadedRogue So it is actually our life, the destination of our life is somehow a dream, we walk without plan, then we die. It is most of modern people's life. The movie has numerous forms, it just not goes the entertainment way, and through this, you can taste life is somehow bitter.
