r32adt3db , think you clearly dont appreciate how big this aircraft is and how manoverable it is. considering it was 1950's technology its bloody amazing!
I'd forgotten they played Clannad during the display, always made me and my brother laugh, you'd hear a snippets of music then it'd be drowned out by 4 Olympuses. Love the sound of the engines during the turn. Can't wait to see her fly again.
Try reducing the frames. The little square box under the film. Its better. Back in the early 90's the Cam Cordeers of that day had auto focus which was a pain. Soon afterwards I used manual, it was a lot better!
Bloody wonderful to see 558 back where it belongs - I was at Scampton in the RAF 1972 and the sight and sound of these Vulcans will stay with me forever - join VTTS !!! and keep it flying :-)
It was either 1990 (the TVS Battle of Britain 50th Airshow) or 1992 RIAT as Fairford was unavailable at the time. I was an apprentice at Boscombe Down 1989 to 93. Too right on the music too "Harry's Game", it was always used as I remember it at Middle Wallop in 1982, the music was playing as the crowd could see the aircraft coming from miles out, made the hair on your neck stand on end.
A sight that will now grace our skys once more. Today is a historic day as we see XH558 back in the air after 14 years. Cant wait for the airshow season!
Happy daze! Didn't get to that airshow but I have a BBC prog of it somewhere. You know, when tv used to cover airshows. We moaned then but it's a desert now.
Never figured out why they used that gooey Enya muzak during the display of this mega-destructive machine. Inappropriate nostalgia methinks.
i was at this airshow one of the best thanks for sharing this video

The Vulcan is verry manoeuvrable for a big fighter like this and espacially for it's time. Keep this jet in the air

It's actually a big bomber ;-)
It could out turn most fighters in its day thanks to its huge delta wings and ridiculously powerful engines.

I guess you know the old joke:
'What do Spock and Port Stanley Airport both have in common?'
Answer: 'They've both been f****d by Vulcans!'

The music was a perfect fit for its last flight/year and I think they should use it again for the 1st return flight

I agree, ridiculous choice of music! Just let the Vulcan do her display to the most appropriate soundtrack - that of 4 Olympuses.

The music is 'The Theme from Harry's Game' by Clannad...does seem like an odd choice to accompany the Vulcan!
Loved the climb @ 5.00! Thanks for posting this!
