yes, it is personal, Jesus wants christians to preach in various ways (not to judge) some times to challenge people, which is sometimes misinterpreted as judging - i personally believe that, yes, maybe a christian does'nt have to go to church in the traditional sense, but i would always need to meet with people who are filled with God/Jesus

@thicketwings05 hey thicket! First of all, WE are the Church. You are the Church. As the church, we are part of the body of Christ. As the body of Christ, we live to be like Christ. Christ commanded us to go and baptize and be baptized. If the church you attend doesnt agree with whats biblical, I might pray and see if God leads you to a different church. Water baptism is a really good profession of faith; my pastor referred to it as the ring to represent the wedding :)
I'm a believer, and also not a preacher. But going to a church actually benefits. We shouldn't follow any Pastor, or Bishop, or any church. But follow Him, Jesus... Religon is not the answer... God and His Will is the answer.
I suppose it is best to be worried but reserved about this. Christ once asked a very righteous young man to give up his final possession, money, and he could not. This is being caught up in life. Have faith, and ask Christ to show you the right way.
I had the same problem about four years ago. I asked God that, if he were real, to help me believe in him. Then I never really thought about it again and two years later I.. changed, I believed, I wanted a more personal relationship with Christ. It was a changing experience. It is always hard to know, and easy to doubt, and it sucks to think about because deep down you know the truth.. and the truth is not easy to swallow. Be strong my friend.
Pray even if at first you may feel like you are talking to yourself. Ask God to open you heart, eyes and ears to him so that you may see his work all around you. Read your bible, learn more about Christ and the promises he has given us and you will see how he keeps them and how he loves us and you will learn more about him which opens your eyes too, ask him to talk to you through it all. He will. Believe, have faith and you will see.
I was in the same postion as you a few months ago. Everything was going wrong in my life and it was really testing my faith. One night I decided to pray to make to see if he would make things right. I felt him then, he was there the whole time, watching, all I had to do was call him and he was there =] Pray and you'll know God is there. He'll always be there... Just ask him <3

Listen, Being a Christian isn't meant for perfection and you know what , he loves you so incredibly much! He want you to run to him with open arms. I'm a believer, not a preacher. I can't tell you what to do - other than to not just follow a belief you don't truly believe in ( I believe in God, yet i have no church to which i follow - i hope i don't get slated for that and you respect my choice lol :) i'm not saying don't go to church, faith is found in different places for different people ). but if it helps at all - follow your heart :) 'When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That's my religion.'

yes, it is personal, Jesus wants christians to preach in various ways (not to judge) some times to challenge people, which is sometimes misinterpreted as judging - i personally believe that, yes, maybe a christian does'nt have to go to church in the traditional sense, but i would always need to meet with people who are filled with God/Jesus

@777i2i not to judge but.. :) God commands us to go to church. like 777i2i said maybe not in the traditional sense but we need to be with other Christians to raise others up and be raised up ourselves. I find that many "christians" who say they dont need to go to church say so because their life isnt God centered. Why WOULDNT you want to go to a place where you can be with other Christians, learn through Sermon, participate in worship through music, etc. We should yearn for it!

But then God showed me how much he loved me and I LOVE going to church :) I sooo want to get baptised now, but my other church (anglican) said you cant be rebaptised (as i got confirmed before i started being a REAL christian). what do you think i should do?

@thicketwings05 hey thicket! First of all, WE are the Church. You are the Church. As the church, we are part of the body of Christ. As the body of Christ, we live to be like Christ. Christ commanded us to go and baptize and be baptized. If the church you attend doesnt agree with whats biblical, I might pray and see if God leads you to a different church. Water baptism is a really good profession of faith; my pastor referred to it as the ring to represent the wedding :)

I had the same problem about four years ago. I asked God that, if he were real, to help me believe in him. Then I never really thought about it again and two years later I.. changed, I believed, I wanted a more personal relationship with Christ. It was a changing experience. It is always hard to know, and easy to doubt, and it sucks to think about because deep down you know the truth.. and the truth is not easy to swallow. Be strong my friend.

Pray even if at first you may feel like you are talking to yourself. Ask God to open you heart, eyes and ears to him so that you may see his work all around you. Read your bible, learn more about Christ and the promises he has given us and you will see how he keeps them and how he loves us and you will learn more about him which opens your eyes too, ask him to talk to you through it all. He will. Believe, have faith and you will see.

I felt him then, he was there the whole time, watching, all I had to do was call him and he was there =] Pray and you'll know God is there. He'll always be there... Just ask him <3
