No, it's good to bring up. Even though Hedwig has always been careful with Havana, an injury is possible, particularly with other pairs.
Of course, Hedwig and Neko are professional killers whose job it is to patrol 2 acres of orchard, 86,000 cubic feet of aircraft hangar. They need razor claws, strong teeth and lightning reflexes.
Thankfully, cats and dog all play carefully and safely, and have done so for dozens of hours. But, your advice is very good, and may apply to many owners.
@829Samantha If you want to talk about injury, declawing a cat is one of the worst you can inflict on it! Would you take a dogs teeth out just because they're sharp? NO! Without their claws, cats can't climb, play, defend themselves, or knead properly. We adopted a declawed cat and it was had a kneading fixation because it could not knead properly. It was killed by a small animal (likely a raccoon) that it could have easily defended itself against, had it not been declawed.
@sillymonkey829 I'm sorry for your loss. I actually never wrote that comment. It must have been someone else on my account. I have had 4 cats and loved them all, I would never ever do that to any of them!
Back then, both of 'em were about five months old.
Now, they are REALLY hilarious, running straight at each other head-on, growling and yowling and gnawing. They love to wrestle! Both are adult, weigh within 2 lbs of 16.
A year later, they still play with even more reckless abandon. They'll collide at full speed, head-on and disolve into a tangled ball. Hedwig, the Manx, will leap over Havana so he's in a virtual headstand as she roars beneath; he'll spin half a revolution and drop onto her back on all fours. It is hilarious. They will lie in a tangled heap, gnawing and licking each other for five, ten minutes at a time.
One day, I'll capture the most bizarre behaviour out of these two: the female dog hops atop her feline friend, he crouches and smiles with contentment while she "plays the man" in their relationship.
Everybody seems to think it only happens when they are raised together. It is really fun, 'specially now that they're at the 6-month point and take breaks to hug and groom...
So that's where the cat's tail went...

Thanks for screaming.
They, two years later, are best friends. Each greets the other every morning with a full-speed run and happy, tumbling head-on collision.
Ironic, that being inhuman can trespass into the realm of loving animals.
Good luck with that.

Oh, they're best friends!
Half the time, the cat comes after the dog.
