no wonderrrrrrrr your seal sounds horrible. After you closed the second and third time i noticed no "wooshing" noise. Sounds like your closing a jewelery box.
Do the $1 dollar test on all 4 sides and if there is resistance you have a good seal. But i think the broken key hole is mesting up the RH. HUH? beads are amazing. Did you get the right amount of beads? seems like your lacking the proper amount too

Whoah stop the presses, Brilliant modification.How many times do you remove that disc anyway?I removed that crap foam from inside that disc, moistened up some RH beads and spooned them in, then I screwed it back on and BAM! Done. 70 to 72% rh all the time.Also have a homemade drymistat tune in there as well. Buy the beads online ebay, 2ox fo 3 bucks. Enough for more tubes than you will know what to do with.
