Yes! I strongly agree! Cuz believe me; I don't care how modern that style is. it's too simplistic, it's too abstract, and it does not fit Transformers! Plus, the moving quality isn't that good anyway.
Not in Japan, they never had a Season 2 of Transformers. But had the Headmasters instead.
The reason for that was because the states got the Movie before Japan, and when the states were into season two. Japan still hadn't got the movie dubbed, so basically the Japanese made the Headmasters to fill in the gap and wait.
Wait, that can't be right. Hot Rod still becomes Rodimus Prime in Headmasters, doesn't he? So is it just coincidence that it also happens in the Movie or something?
Well the Singapore dub DOES have a bunch of bad dialog that could be taken as unintentional sex jokes. "Fortress Maximus has come himself." is the first example that comes to mind.
My opinion on both "The Headmasters" and "The Rebirth" (I demand a remake!):1. The Headmasters was actually a cool concept. 2. Sadly, Hasbro had to call it quits when they could not have the funds to continue the series, thus creating "The Rebirth" to finish it off. 3. Japan had the funds to continue the series so they were stuck on their own and did NOT have the proper communication with Hasbro to remain consistant with some ideas of the Headmasters, thus having different origins of them.

Give the song a chance, it actually brings something new to the table. It seems pretty blasphemous, but these songs have such a strong humanity to them that I can't help but love 'em.
You do realize that the Japanese dub for the Transformers has NEVER had the 'More Than Meets The Eye' theme that we got, even during G1, right? In that regard, it's not really that bad because Japan never had the true theme to start with. I kinda like the song, it's got a nice upbeat feel to it.

This was the show that I used to watch with my brother when I was still a kid! I really enjoyed watching it, though. Can someone tell me what's the latest Transformer series from Japan produced recently?
That is what I was saying. Chromodome was made to be the next Optimus Prime. In the Rebirth Chromodome played a minor part. What would you change about the series?
I still think that Maguns was the toughest of all transformers and Chromedome was just a soilder, a good one though. Also I don't see how Chromedome and Hardhead could take on Preadaking (5 warriors), Cyclonus and Scourge, and defeat them with ease. It was crazy !!
The biggest fault in this series was to focus the whole series on Chromdome and not on Fortress Maximus. Also that Chromodome can take out Sixshot, but Ultra Magnas was slaughtered in mins.
It is funny, but this series could have been so much better. The stories were great and using the old characters. They just needed to cut out the emphasis on Daniel and Wheelie. Also unrealistic things like Chromdome defeating Preadaking and the 3 decepticon headmaster beating the Throttlebots and 3 Autobot triplechangers at once. Apart from that it was a good series, with Scorponok being defeated by the combined forces of the Autobots.
I watched the old Transformers till end of the season three. Japanese had to continue this on their own ignoring American three episodes of season four. They replaced the old transformers with some new ones and even killed Optimus Prime right in the third episode.
Now I know why these never made it to North America. We have Autobots singing karaoke, getting drunk off energon and last but not least, asking another Autobot to dance like a junior kid.
These version of the Headmasters is much better than the american "Rebirth" one.

@Sailorsega - What I can tell you 4 sure is that's it's a Japanese ONLY dub. in stereo 2.0 [no surprise] No bad UK dubs. here..
I've heard of some sync issues with the Japanese dub. now & then, but it's not serious.
Eng. ONLY subs. are also provided.
The picture is an improvement over the TV broadcast.
Shoutfactory is scheduling the complete release 2011.12.16. :D

@Sailorsega - This version of Headmasters from Shoutfactory is Japanese dub. ONLY since this series was made entirely in Japan anyway.
The eng. dub. was merely an add on for us ''The American'' audience, the eng. dub. has been refered as the
UK version,which from what I hear was a bad dub. anyway.
Do yourself a favor just stick with the Japanese dub. with English subs. like most of us who are into Anime.

Give the song a chance, it actually brings something new to the table. It seems pretty blasphemous, but these songs have such a strong humanity to them that I can't help but love 'em.

You do realize that the Japanese dub for the Transformers has NEVER had the 'More Than Meets The Eye' theme that we got, even during G1, right? In that regard, it's not really that bad because Japan never had the true theme to start with. I kinda like the song, it's got a nice upbeat feel to it.

That is what I was saying. Chromodome was made to be the next Optimus Prime. In the Rebirth Chromodome played a minor part. What would you change about the series?

I still think that Maguns was the toughest of all transformers and Chromedome was just a soilder, a good one though. Also I don't see how Chromedome and Hardhead could take on Preadaking (5 warriors), Cyclonus and Scourge, and defeat them with ease. It was crazy !!

The biggest fault in this series was to focus the whole series on Chromdome and not on Fortress Maximus. Also that Chromodome can take out Sixshot, but Ultra Magnas was slaughtered in mins.

It is funny, but this series could have been so much better. The stories were great and using the old characters. They just needed to cut out the emphasis on Daniel and Wheelie. Also unrealistic things like Chromdome defeating Preadaking and the 3 decepticon headmaster beating the Throttlebots and 3 Autobot triplechangers at once. Apart from that it was a good series, with Scorponok being defeated by the combined forces of the Autobots.

I watched the old Transformers till end of the season three. Japanese had to continue this on their own ignoring American three episodes of season four. They replaced the old transformers with some new ones and even killed Optimus Prime right in the third episode.
But anyway I like the opening theme.

There fuck the orignal up. That why I sold masterforce and victory on ebay. But I kept headmaster only because the old bots were there.
