Agreed it is wrong. Maybe we need incentives for companies to keep those jobs at home...just like we need laws that give citizens preference in hiring. I work in an area where a lot of the mills will go out of their way to hire immigrants, legal and illegal, before an American. Then when the immigrants get into the human resources dept it's almost impossible for an American to get hired, even if he/she is more qualified. BTW, Canada has citizen preference hiring laws.

I never said because I didn't think it was relevant, but...I say fine them 100k per illegal the first time they are caught and throw their asses in prison for 5-10yrs the next time. I keep hearing how the ag businesses will suffer w/o illegals, here's an idea...use no-violent prisoners to pick the crops, pay them min wage...1/3 goes for restitution for their victims, 1/3 goes for paying for their incarceration, and 1/3 goes into an account to get them started when they leave prison.

This is an excellent video, the only reason the Republicans whined about it is because it is true and effective. 1. The Democrats don't understand the true threat posed by Republicans and don't hit hard emough. This ad was better than the usual Democrat ads. But, it isn't anywhere near harsh enough.

Well i HAvent been there but i Am of a Military Family and had many of them go to Iraq. Personally I do belive that The Coffin showings where something That needed to be shown, Same for the covrage in vietnam when it happened.
I'm not sure if I am in 100% agreement on the Bush administrations policy on allowing the release of photos of coffins, I can see arguments on both sides. I just have a HUGE problem with a political party using the pictures for fundraising purposes. That is just in really bad taste.

I have served in Iraq, Kuwait, Pakistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Macedonia; till date if I'm called a hero or vet, I shiver, I think the real vets are those who were spat on and called baby killers even though they did not have a choice in serving. I do not support one party either way, because I think they are all crooked in one way or another, but I do think that we need change for the better in this country, it cost me $55 to fill my gas tank up from half, that my fellow Americans is ludicrous.
America is enjoying one of the lowest unemployment rates in history. Germany has a very high unemployment rate, the people are taxed beyond believe, gas prices are double that in the states & in some areas 3 times the price! Americans are complaining about gas prices but don't bat an eye at spending $3.50 for a coffee @ Starbucks several times a week

I agree with outbreak 42.I think if the military allowed these soldiers to get out when their actual time was up they'd lose 50% of their military. This is hardly a volunteer of soldiers who enlisted for this war.
Uh you need to check the actual statistics. All military branches are EXCEEDING their retention goals. Plenty of people are reenlisting and a lot are doing what I did and are reenlisting WHILE IN IRAQ. Hell I would have volunteered for another 6 months over there if I hadn't had a wife and 3 kids waiting on my return. Check the facts, don't theorize based on hype from the mainstream media. Every military person I have talked to that has seen this video is PISSED.

Check out casualty statistics in all US wars and every major war the number of dead dwarfs the 2500 or so we have lost in this war. And I am not minimizing those deaths, I saw when of my friends bodies dragged out of a HUMVEE who had taken an IED blast to the face. This ad is in bad taste and can not be defended.

If republicans are so supportive of the troops, than quit cutting veteran's funding and actually support active troops and their families that make very real and extreme sacrifices for their country. Stop giving tax money to no-bid contracts that waste billions and have no liability/LOYALTY to our country. Agreed it is wrong. Maybe we need incentives for companies to keep those jobs at home...just like we need laws that give citizens preference in hiring. I work in an area where a lot of the mills will go out of their way to hire immigrants, legal and illegal, before an American. Then when the immigrants get into the human resources dept it's almost impossible for an American to get hired, even if he/she is more qualified. BTW, Canada has citizen preference hiring laws.

I never said because I didn't think it was relevant, but...I say fine them 100k per illegal the first time they are caught and throw their asses in prison for 5-10yrs the next time. I keep hearing how the ag businesses will suffer w/o illegals, here's an idea...use no-violent prisoners to pick the crops, pay them min wage...1/3 goes for restitution for their victims, 1/3 goes for paying for their incarceration, and 1/3 goes into an account to get them started when they leave prison.

This ad exposed two problems:
1. The Democrats don't understand the true threat posed by Republicans and don't hit hard emough. This ad was better than the usual Democrat ads. But, it isn't anywhere near harsh enough.
2. The Democrats proved they are cowards by removing the ad from the DCCC website when Republicans feigned indignation. Instead, the Democrats should have realized they were hitting a nerve and should have hit harder rather than retreating.

Some (Belive it or not) Enjoy being ruled by somone. In the end War is Old people talking and young men AND Woman dieing. In a time of war we cant fight eachother we must Stick together...screw the arguing just do what we can to get out troops out of there as quick and safe as possoble. I'm not sure if I am in 100% agreement on the Bush administrations policy on allowing the release of photos of coffins, I can see arguments on both sides. I just have a HUGE problem with a political party using the pictures for fundraising purposes. That is just in really bad taste.

I have sat at home worried about whether my husband's plane would break & how long it would take to get a part. When Clinton was Commander-in-Chief, military needs were not a priority. Morale is High? I have never seen it lower but I am in a service where people are taught to think for your self not follow blindly, ie Army, Marines....

No one is being held in the US Military against their will! Early outs are being offered because of budget cuts and realignments. My husband has been voluntarily serving for almost 20 years and has signed on for 25 more because he believes in what he is fighting for. Most Civilians who have tantrums about the war have NO CLUE & have NOT SERVED & should spend their time offering solutions rather than useless whining and criticism!

It's not that Clinton actually said "let 'em die"...it's that he set the situation up by not approving the CO's request for AMERICAN armor (sending American tanks to support the mission in somalia was deemed "too offensive". Nope, lets rely on UN and Turkish light armor instead of our owm M1's which could have simply run over the roadblocks and gotten the Rangers out with fewer caualties.

I have served in Iraq, Kuwait, Pakistan, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Macedonia; till date if I'm called a hero or vet, I shiver, I think the real vets are those who were spat on and called baby killers even though they did not have a choice in serving. I do not support one party either way, because I think they are all crooked in one way or another, but I do think that we need change for the better in this country, it cost me $55 to fill my gas tank up from half, that my fellow Americans is ludicrous.

Germany has a very high unemployment rate, the people are taxed beyond believe, gas prices are double that in the states & in some areas 3 times the price! Americans are complaining about gas prices but don't bat an eye at spending $3.50 for a coffee @ Starbucks several times a week

Uh you need to check the actual statistics. All military branches are EXCEEDING their retention goals. Plenty of people are reenlisting and a lot are doing what I did and are reenlisting WHILE IN IRAQ. Hell I would have volunteered for another 6 months over there if I hadn't had a wife and 3 kids waiting on my return. Check the facts, don't theorize based on hype from the mainstream media. Every military person I have talked to that has seen this video is PISSED.

I was talking about REENLISTMENT. The guys that have been there like me realize what is going on nowhere near matches the hyped news coverage. Check out casualty statistics in all US wars and every major war the number of dead dwarfs the 2500 or so we have lost in this war. And I am not minimizing those deaths, I saw when of my friends bodies dragged out of a HUMVEE who had taken an IED blast to the face. This ad is in bad taste and can not be defended.

The U.N. can do nothing by itself. It is not, an organisation capable of doing things on a whim. The U.N. is the sum of all its parts(member states). Everything is voted on by the member states. To say that the U.N. is an ineffectual and outdated organisation is kind of missing the point. The U.N. is what our governments make of it.
So, in response to your point: to say that Kerry and Gore would have let the U.N. handle it displays a complete ignorance of how things actually happen.

At this point, the only video that would convince brainwashed republicans that we need a change would be a video of Bush having sex with a baby on the lawn of the White House. If Bush wet his pants in public these right wing suck ups would blame his last glass of water. At least this video serves as a good summary of the Bush Administration corruption and incompetence.

People die in wars. That is a fact. Wars have gone on since the beginning. The number of dead in this war is very small compared to centuries of other wars. It is inappropriate to use our dead soldiers as political propaganda whether it is the truth or not.

i don't blame bush for the weather but for the lack of response to what has happened. i did notice when rita hit texas bush jumped right in just not for the people in la. and ms. he knew what was going on a week before he did anything. i guess if that is the weather problem. bush did it. quick response could have saved people. just not rich ones.

The only Bush i trust is my own!!! Thank god someone has finally created a piece that accurately describes what is really going on in this war. Freedom of speech is something i value greatly and i despise those who censor it. Thank god Bush's term is almost threw. You can almost guarantee a Democrat next in office b/c of the bad rep that moron gave to his party.

It also humanizes the conflict, too many people are throwing numbers around when you see the coffins it brings it closer home, I wish they were allowed to show the American people how some these fine young Americans died maybe then they will realize that the numbers people throw around so comfortably in their living rooms are actual people, not just political rhetoric.

I have been in every major combat offensive/police action in the past ten years save Afghanistan, trust me showing the coffins draped with the American flag is an honor to the fallen and reminder to the living what we are fighting for, to kill the bastards who did that to our brethren.
