David Tennant made an absolutey brilliant Doctor. With the writing and the acting, I really loved the aspects of Ten. I think it really matters that David was always a fan of the show; I think it sort of brought out emotions and got him into a certain realm of things.  (That, and he's a fantastic actor.) The goodbye he delivered got to me... it was something he had always dreamed of doing, and he was working with these people for so long... it seemed like a very sentimental moment.

Don't get me wrong, i love Matt Smith to DEATH and he is a fantastic Doctor, but i think David will always be my doctor. I grew up with him, I've loved him since i was 8! Dude, I have littered my school with weeping angle quotes. I wrote the meesage on the wall from the beginning of the episode in the bathroom, then I drew a little TARDIS. It annoys me how people rate the show based on the actors performance. Sure you might think Matt smith doesn't act as good as Tennant, but that's like calling a great film terrible because the lead's role wasn't too strong. No one will match up to David, but Matt is def a great actor and doctor. Infact had it not been for Matt Smith I would have never known of doctor who.

@VolcanicTunicBobbo I think with every Doctor regeneration, there is a level of resentment directly at the newcomer taking over, but each Doctor has added their own unique style and layer to the complicated mystery that is the Doctor. Matt is no different, and after seeing the new series, I can say that Matt is doing a hell of a job! Critics are already praising him as perhaps one of the best alongside David, and to be honest, I would actually agree.
