Why can't big business and the rich sacrifice a little so that WE THE PEOPLE in the middle and working classes don't have to cut all these necessary programs, esp. in a time like this? THIS IS EXACTLY THE TIME THESE PROGRAMS WERE CREATED FOR! It's called SOCIAL INSURANCE.
The reason why we're borrowing so much money is because we have the lowest effective tax rates since the 1950s and someone has to pay off 2 TWO republican wars and an unfunded medicare part D that has no negotiation allowances in it.
