I'm pretty sure this is a C32 AMG Supercharged V6. These cars can run 12's with just intake and a shorter supercharger pulley.... look at the taillights, I don't think that's a C55. I may be wrong. Thoughts?
If your guy like me and you want a car to work with and tune you never get German cars because it's will cost way wAy to much... I'd rather get, if we compare LuXURY cars, a Lexus over MB or BMW for modifying sakes. I own a Mercedes and it's a great car and I own a Toyota 9th gen amazing car so it depends what you are looking for.
Its too bad i got an infiniti m35x than this..The speed of the IS is sooo nice..the stock m35 can do it in 6.0 seconds, but ive added catback exhaust (with highflow cats) and CAI with plenum. If i could have the m35 interior in the is it would be a great car...mind askin how much you sold the car for?
C32amg and c55amg both run 4.5 seconds to 60 (stock)when conditions and tires are good. It can get 5 seconds to 60 if the tires are bald or elevation is too high or both.
I'm perplexed how this IS350, which supposedly accelerates to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, loses so brutally to a C55 which is good for about 5 seconds to 60 mph/13.5 second 1320. Can someone explain this to me?
@Boosted07tC easy to explain. a stock c55 AMG does not go 0-60 in 5 seconds. MotorTrend and Road and Track both clocked it at 4.7 seconds. as for the 1/4 mile definately not a 13.5 car. try low 13's. But there are those factory freaks out there like mine. My stock c55 ran a 12.9 @ 107 so that should put my 0-60 in the range of 4.4 to 4.6. and i do have video of me runnin the 12.9 Motortrend states that the is350 will do 0-60 in 5.5 sec and the 1/4 in 13.7. i know the C55 amg is faster.
@4MATICbenz Guys, no auto mags have been able to get the IS350 to 60 mph in under 5.4 sec.. And second, the heavy C55 amg has typical road test numbers in the mags of 0-60 in 5.0 to 5.2 sec.... The C32... is allittle faster due to less weight....

The Toyota Corolla had a lower rate of depreciation than the IS350 for the 2009-2010 year. I suppose that makes the Corolla the better car? Also the IS-F holds a higher depreciation rate percentage than the IS350. But I guess that makes the IS350 the better model?
AMG C-class > IS350. Each of these cars' values years down the line are irrelevant.
@6UNLEASHED The IS350 driver clearly couldnt launch. They have similar stock quarter mile times. The difference between the C55 and C63 is night and day. The C55 is ugly, boring and for metrosexuals. The C63 is a COMPLETELY different story. All of Mercedes' models finally got their act together.

Also the 1/4mile times b/t the C55 and IS350 may not be hugely different, but they certainly arent similiar. Low 13s vs. upper 13s is a somewhat notable difference.

Fail. You get them used off of eBay which dealers even sell so it's certafied for about 25k ea. of course depending on the miles. Lets say... 50k miles on an is250 that will cost you about 23k, on a c55 it'll cost about 23-25k at most lol. So much for that price difference. Are you high ? :) A Stock C6 Z06 runs 11's all day long at the track, and with slicks, it can break 11's into the upper 10's... STOCK! It has been done. But considering just 11's, noway will the IS350 come close to a C6 Z06, dig, roll or top end! Unless the Z06 driver is sleeping... anyway, the IS350 is an average car nowadays... it's a 13's car even 14's on a lousy run. I've seen these cars best 13.6s at the track stock. And that's not common. It's usually 13.8s ~ 14.1.
You are completely high. IS350's best time was 12.8 sec ET. 13.2~ 13.3x sec on a good weather is very common. Mid 13's on a hot weather if launched well. Those high 13's and 14's are drivers error, I'm surprised you didn't know that. What I find you really stupid is that you took best time of the C6 Z06 and the worst time on the IS350 making yourself a completely biased fag. it's not uncommon to see IS350 getting pretty close ET as the C5 and C6 Z06 vette. Fuckin ban your ass.
And to return the favor, you might get 14.1 sec with IS350 on an uphill 30 degree angle in 100F humid weather. Try the C6 Z06 vette with a below-average driver and you would be seeing high 14's to low 15's on a vette.
Juice, you really need narrower wheels and tires, and go back to 18's. 18 x 8 front, 18.8.5 back, with 245's on the rear. Wheel weight needs to be about 16 lbs each. Your Toyo proxes TR-1 is good, it's light and sticky which is fine. Your car will pickup speed at higher speeds. 275 is just outrageous....
This is what i'm talking about. 0-60 the Lexus will keep up but in a 1/4 mile it will never beat a C55 assuming they start equally or giving the IS an edge off the line. C55's torque is much higher and is available at a much lower RPM.
Didn't you read my earlier messages? It looked as if juice was waiting for the other guy (C55) to launch. It also looked more like a rolling race, not from a start. juice definitely didn't have a good launch in this. Like I have said, the IS350 needs a hard launch from the start, and both take off at the same time. R&T shows C55 and IS350 at same ET, 13.5 sec.
Umm...I ran my c55 bone stock 1/4 mile 13.23 at Cayuga and like I said in my earlier messages, I took on an IS350 4 times and won by atleast a car length on all occasions. R&T is just a magazine and you have no idea on what basis are they disclosing these numbers.
They are not in the same league. IS350 has nearly 100 less torque and 50 less hp and the same weight as C55. Not even the numbers make sense for it to ever match C55 1/4 mile.
the C55 is a faster car than the IS350, like you said it has 100 more TQ and a lot more hp. so the only chance I have of beating him in a "race" is from a dead stop. It is not fair to comapre these cars with sucha huge difference in hp tq, and specially price
That is exactly my point. Nothing more. Both cars are amazing but they are 'not' in the same class. I mean the IS350 for starters is a 4 year newer car to be compared to a C55, that's flattering enough. C55 is compared to the S4 and E46 M3 almost anywhere. IS350 is compared to BMW higher end 3 series, the merc C350, Acura TL, and Audi A4.
Now your going overboard.. If you are talking in terms of power (acceleration) then the IS350 would be in the E46 M3 and RS4 class. If you talking strictly in cornering (track racing) the E46 would be higher. same goes for the C55. the acceleration is close to the IS350. the C55 is in different class in terms of horsepower and torque, as well as the price range. You are fucking nuts comparing the IS350 to Acura TL and A4. you are out of your mind..... lol
So can the Lexus. The best times done on the stock IS350's are in the 13.22x~ 13.3x sec range at the dragstrip. R&T isn't just a magazine. These guys know how to prep the cars and know how to launch. I believe the weather condition and the track location is the same (Irvine, CA). Since both cars have been tested by the same source it makes it more a fair comparison. The difference between the two cars is the GEAR RATIOS which you didn't mention since you have no idea how they work...
adnanhoque, you pulling a car on the IS350 isn't much. it shows how close the both perform in the accelerations. And I'm not that the IS350 is a faster car. The C55 should edge out at higher speeds but the difference is pretty small. And for 0 - quarter mile runs, they are very close to each other. This is due to the gearing differences on the transmission. Having more hp and torque doesn't mean shit. You acted like you know some stuff but you don't...
I was not acting, merely stating the facts and the logic around that. If I was acting, I would have made stuff up. I didn't want to complicate anything by bringing up gear ratio or at what rpm does the C55 give it's full torque vs the is350, or the viscosity of the motor oil at the atomic level, haha! The mere rpm level to when the c55 receives it's torque nullifies your gear ratio. I was sticking to the basics and you assumed things about me based on that? Wow. Anyways enjoy your ride!
You probably have 255 or larger on the back, right? The Toyo TR1 is a good set of tires and are very sticky so if you gone with a 235 or 245 width with 18 x 8 16 lb wheel you would be rocking. That'll give you at least 2 tenths or so improvement at the quarter mile or 100+ mph mark.
That's too wide. You have increased the rolling resistance substantially which 'will' affect acceleration especially at higher speeds (60~ triple digit speeds). Though your wheel/tire setup is slightly lighter than the stock it still cause drag due to much larger contact between the road and your tires. Your setup is geared more for 0-60, not for higher speeds. The stock one maybe better off at higher speed applications... or you should've gone with the narrower 245's.
It looked as if juice almost waited for him to launch first. It doesn't look like juice launched it hard this time. The IS350 needs a hard launching to get the best out of it. You both should've launched it hard at exact same time from 0. Also I wonder if the wider, aftermarket set of tires is causing more drag.. I know they are a little lighter than stock but the larger contact on the road also cause rolling resistance. You need superlight and narrow wheels/ tires.
See I was right... You definitely didn't get a strong start. You had a strong start on the first video. If you made a hard launch and not wait for him to launch first you would be much closer to him. In other words, this isn't really a fair race. In this video you made it look like the IS350 is slower than it should be. if I were you I would have tried to do re-runs so both can launch at exact same time.

When I had my VR4 I did alot of winning, and lost just as much, but being able to just go the distance with another car put a smile on my face, thats correct racing attitude. Gotta grow up dude :O)

If juice launched hard right from the beginning and both take off at the same time it would've been closer race. i want to know based on what you say a rsx is faster than a is350.. in my vids theres a RSX-S that has I/H/E K-pro and ran very high 13s.. if you look at it this way a STOCK is350 runs mid to low 13s i really dont know how is it even possible but whatever floats you boat..

Even so, you're car is in a different league then an RSX, and the RSX is still N/A and can keep up with an IS350, so yeah. It's a good car though no doubt, my sister bought an 06' c280 benz, I laugh at her daily because she didn't by the IS250, which is a much better car and costs less.

there was no driver error you stupid fuck.. first run was 14.2 due to traction issues and second was 13.8 after putting some drs.. once again all shifts were at 9000rpms and power shifted.. theres no faster shifting than that.. my god you are such a fucking ricer lol i gues you must be 16 still what are you going to say next that it takes out a IS F?

Fail. You get them used off of eBay which dealers even sell so it's certafied for about 25k ea. of course depending on the miles. Lets say... 50k miles on an is250 that will cost you about 23k, on a c55 it'll cost about 23-25k at most lol. So much for that price difference. Lexus should stop making their cars seem anything close to sports.

Are you high ? :) A Stock C6 Z06 runs 11's all day long at the track, and with slicks, it can break 11's into the upper 10's... STOCK! It has been done. But considering just 11's, noway will the IS350 come close to a C6 Z06, dig, roll or top end! Unless the Z06 driver is sleeping... anyway, the IS350 is an average car nowadays... it's a 13's car even 14's on a lousy run. I've seen these cars best 13.6s at the track stock. And that's not common. It's usually 13.8s ~ 14.1.

You are completely high. IS350's best time was 12.8 sec ET. 13.2~ 13.3x sec on a good weather is very common. Mid 13's on a hot weather if launched well. Those high 13's and 14's are drivers error, I'm surprised you didn't know that. What I find you really stupid is that you took best time of the C6 Z06 and the worst time on the IS350 making yourself a completely biased fag. it's not uncommon to see IS350 getting pretty close ET as the C5 and C6 Z06 vette. And to return the favor, you might get 14.1 sec with IS350 on an uphill 30 degree angle in 100F humid weather. Try the C6 Z06 vette with a below-average driver and you would be seeing high 14's to low 15's on a vette.

Juice, you really need narrower wheels and tires, and go back to 18's. 18 x 8 front, 18.8.5 back, with 245's on the rear. Wheel weight needs to be about 16 lbs each. Your Toyo proxes TR-1 is good, it's light and sticky which is fine. Your car will pickup speed at higher speeds. 275 is just outrageous....

This is what i'm talking about. 0-60 the Lexus will keep up but in a 1/4 mile it will never beat a C55 assuming they start equally or giving the IS an edge off the line. C55's torque is much higher and is available at a much lower RPM.

Didn't you read my earlier messages? It looked as if juice was waiting for the other guy (C55) to launch. It also looked more like a rolling race, not from a start. juice definitely didn't have a good launch in this. Like I have said, the IS350 needs a hard launch from the start, and both take off at the same time. R&T shows C55 and IS350 at same ET, 13.5 sec.

Umm...I ran my c55 bone stock 1/4 mile 13.23 at Cayuga and like I said in my earlier messages, I took on an IS350 4 times and won by atleast a car length on all occasions. R&T is just a magazine and you have no idea on what basis are they disclosing these numbers.
They are not in the same league. IS350 has nearly 100 less torque and 50 less hp and the same weight as C55. Not even the numbers make sense for it to ever match C55 1/4 mile.
Anyways, I do think the IS350 is a great car...

That is exactly my point. Nothing more. Both cars are amazing but they are 'not' in the same class. I mean the IS350 for starters is a 4 year newer car to be compared to a C55, that's flattering enough. C55 is compared to the S4 and E46 M3 almost anywhere. IS350 is compared to BMW higher end 3 series, the merc C350, Acura TL, and Audi A4.

Now your going overboard.. If you are talking in terms of power (acceleration) then the IS350 would be in the E46 M3 and RS4 class. If you talking strictly in cornering (track racing) the E46 would be higher. same goes for the C55. the acceleration is close to the IS350. the C55 is in different class in terms of horsepower and torque, as well as the price range. You are fucking nuts comparing the IS350 to Acura TL and A4. you are out of your mind..... lol

So can the Lexus. The best times done on the stock IS350's are in the 13.22x~ 13.3x sec range at the dragstrip. R&T isn't just a magazine. These guys know how to prep the cars and know how to launch. I believe the weather condition and the track location is the same (Irvine, CA). Since both cars have been tested by the same source it makes it more a fair comparison. The difference between the two cars is the GEAR RATIOS which you didn't mention since you have no idea how they work...

adnanhoque, you pulling a car on the IS350 isn't much. it shows how close the both perform in the accelerations. And I'm not that the IS350 is a faster car. The C55 should edge out at higher speeds but the difference is pretty small. And for 0 - quarter mile runs, they are very close to each other. This is due to the gearing differences on the transmission. Having more hp and torque doesn't mean shit. You acted like you know some stuff but you don't...

I was not acting, merely stating the facts and the logic around that. If I was acting, I would have made stuff up. I didn't want to complicate anything by bringing up gear ratio or at what rpm does the C55 give it's full torque vs the is350, or the viscosity of the motor oil at the atomic level, haha! The mere rpm level to when the c55 receives it's torque nullifies your gear ratio. I was sticking to the basics and you assumed things about me based on that? Wow. Anyways enjoy your ride!

You probably have 255 or larger on the back, right? The Toyo TR1 is a good set of tires and are very sticky so if you gone with a 235 or 245 width with 18 x 8 16 lb wheel you would be rocking. That'll give you at least 2 tenths or so improvement at the quarter mile or 100+ mph mark.

That's too wide. You have increased the rolling resistance substantially which 'will' affect acceleration especially at higher speeds (60~ triple digit speeds). Though your wheel/tire setup is slightly lighter than the stock it still cause drag due to much larger contact between the road and your tires. Your setup is geared more for 0-60, not for higher speeds. The stock one maybe better off at higher speed applications... or you should've gone with the narrower 245's.

It looked as if juice almost waited for him to launch first. It doesn't look like juice launched it hard this time. The IS350 needs a hard launching to get the best out of it. You both should've launched it hard at exact same time from 0. Also I wonder if the wider, aftermarket set of tires is causing more drag.. I know they are a little lighter than stock but the larger contact on the road also cause rolling resistance. You need superlight and narrow wheels/ tires.

See I was right... You definitely didn't get a strong start. You had a strong start on the first video. If you made a hard launch and not wait for him to launch first you would be much closer to him. In other words, this isn't really a fair race. In this video you made it look like the IS350 is slower than it should be. if I were you I would have tried to do re-runs so both can launch at exact same time.
