JooJoo fails, because it's just a browser, and that's it.
If you want real iPad competition, you'll have to wait for one of the forthcoming tablets running the Android OS and then we'll see. The HP Slate has netbook internals and is running a full Win 7 OS, which is missing the point, IMO, so I discard that.
I think the biggest thing that prevents me from wanting one is the 4gb memory. I would be curious what the usb could be used for. If there was some type of memory extender that could be attached that would increase my interest in this. I want to be able to read ebooks and only 4gb does limit the amount of books that could be stored. I am holding of on this reason alone.
If your holding off because of limitation of 4GB and just want to read ebooks you should get the Sony ereader...it has like 1GB internal memory, but it also has 2 memory card slots that can hold 8GB cards each...thats a whole lot of books
I think there is one large factor you are either forgetting or choosing to not mention in these arguments. The apps, the already established developer base, and store in place for those apps that the developers make money on. If no one is writing software for your device you are going to have problems competing, and have a lot less time to brag about having a usb port.
honestly, i would love to have the ipad but the missing camera is a deal killer for me because I would like to be able to skype on it, that is what I do on the Internet, that is what would be good to give as a gift to parents who are not internet-savy where they can just access key features on a device like this without having to go on a computer....I think either appler rushed this device out or they are holding out on features to sell vers 2
I feel I should punch anyone in the kidney if they even mention other companies are copying the iPad. It just infuriates me to no end because several companies have done this Tablet market before and years before the iPad.
Now all they need to do is release an SDK for this product and market the heck out of it. They should probably increase the storage capacity though, that's a big marketing advantage.
My computer is in my bedroom, when I watch TV and an idea pops into my head or I want to quickly check something, I'd rather the iPad for the resolution than the iPhone. It's just a hell of a lot better.
Great response...I think as long as people think about how they plan to use one thing over another it makes them think, and that is a good thing, whether you like or dislike the iPad, at least have an informed decision...don't just tote the Apple party line...make informed educated decisions, and if that is done I honestly can't be hard ion anyone.
@davidkjordan111111 yeah, well although the camera would be nice, I doubt I'd use it often if at all. I've been wanting to try out the app store for a while (I don't have an iPhone/iPod Touch) along with the multi-touch web browsing.
Not sure if you mentioned in the video or not, but does Joojoo run Flash? - Just curious, because then I would have to really consider which one I want.
yea, I saw this a while back, i thought they got bought out though. for me it would mean starting over in application purchase and logistics. but it looks awesome though. i need the screen real estate though, my main reason, its too cumbersome on a smaller screen.
I guess I knew that no matter what was out there you would only support the Apple device...which tells me you don't really care about features...you just care that it has the Apple name...and that is fine if you want to look at products that way, but that is really an uninformed way of looking at it.
I just knew the Apple faithful would close their eyes and pick Apple...damn the torpedos! all I am trying to point out is that you need to be more objective is all think for yourself!!!!
@davidkjordan111111 I was more objective. the iPad has better battery life, which very important to a college student who spends all day at school, night and morning classes. The Apple App store is much more equipped especially with the new iWork app. I never use my iSight camera, and USB is not need because i have a wireless network. iPad is smaller and lighter and will fit easier in my BackPack. Plus Apple and iPhone are names that i can trust. I like Apple B/C of good experiences.
@davidkjordan111111 About the only thing the Joojoo has over the iPad is USB which not impressive because the fact that the USB on the JooJoo does the same thing the 30 pin dock connector on the iPad does. Plus Joojoo is only advertising it as a web browser and nothing more, like most i need more than a web browser. I don't pick apple products because they're shinny or have apple on them, I pick them because they're actually good products.
Your wrong, USB is not the same as the 30 pin connector...because the USB slot allows for tons of more items than that proprietary 30 pin slot does...USB=Universal Serial Bus, key word (Universal). Also, the JooJoo is NOT just touted as a web browser...did you not clearly see the newspaper items and the screen shot of the home screen? Clearly shows apps like live 365. I think JooJoo will be comparable, but I won't buy either, no need for them I have what I need for the space they cover.
@ibpointless2 so the ipad has a docking station peripheral? If so then yeah I see no upper hand with the Joo Joo unless someone wants to carry around USB shit on the go. Docking stations serve the same purpose and usually have multiple media ports besides USB. I dont praise Apple Im just sayin USB port on Joo Joo vs ipad docking station (if thats what you were refering to) seems like ipad still beats the competition to me.
FAIL. "This company called joojoo" FAIL. The device is called the joojoo, the company is Fusion Garage...

And guess what JooJoo means in African. MAGICAL! I think I heard that phrase used to describe some product in an Apple keynote....

Apple is a religion for Eric. He basically worships it.
Anyways this is what the iPad should've been. Just keep the iPad's battery life & App. store. I wished the capacity would be a little bit more.

One reason why Joojoo wont be as successful, App store. Im not saying its not cool but apples doing it better.
as for Flash and others stuff I made a video for people who really need that stuff, there will be apps out to fill that gap.
