This is my brothers 'song' it was out around the time when he passed away. I want to learn it for his eighteenth on piano but i cant find a tutorial and on the covers it looks too hard. I anyone knows a tutorial can you tell me please? :)
One of the best songs in the last 20 years what a epic by a epic band i seen RadioHead in 2008 and they were epic they played the In/Rainbows set and songs The Bends,Ok Computer,Kid A, and Hail to the Thief. There style of music has changed alot from The Bends and Ok Computer days,Pablo Honey is now a forgotten classic if it came out today it would be one of the best albums. If the The Bends was out now it would be at number 1 for a long time Ok Computer will be a classic for the next 20 years
this is one of the best videos i've seen in terms of relating to the song- just amazing. and there's something so powerful about the message being conveyed at 2:03
I wouldn't ever try to write something that hopeless. All of our saddest songs have somewhere in them at least a glimmer of resolve. 'Street Spirit' has no resolve. It is the dark tunnel without the light at the end. It represents all tragic emotion that is so hurtful that the sound of that melody is its only definition. THOM YORKE
if i had to name a single favorite song (out of all of my favorites, which as a musician and avid music lover numbers in the 100s), this would probably be it.
SOOOOOOOOOO beautiful.
and the immerse your soul in love lyric, is one of the best single mantras to live by :)
"Our fans are braver than I to let that song penetrate them, or maybe they don't realise what they're listening to. They don't realise that Street Spirit is about staring the fucking devil right in the eyes, and knowing, no matter what the hell you do, he'll get the last laugh. And it's real, and true. The devil really will get the last laugh in all cases without exception, and if I let myself think about that too long, I'd crack." Thom Yorke
It was directed by by Jonathan Glazer, who also did the famous "UNKLE - Rabbit In Your Headlights". Plus, he directed Jamiroquai "Virtual Insanity", Blur "The Universal", Radiohead's "Karma Police" , and others.....There is a fine Palm Pictures DVD (2005) of these vids and examples of his work available.
At first i didnt like this song but now I really like it. I used to think that the guitar was too simple and repetitive but now I see its just to allow the the vocals to take the foreground in the soundscape. Awesome song
Led Zeppelin's band wasn't too hot, but he was, not just because he could play the guitar, but also because he could do incredible stuff with his instrument. Kind of like Randy Moss for musicians.
In 1 or 2 decades time Radiohead will be fully appreciated for their amazing music and will surely be ranked as one all of the all time greatest bands alongside The Beatles and Pink Floyd.

Love this band, they're amazing. Surely a big influence in my music. Anyone interested check my band's version of this song (with a girl singing) on my channel. Peace.
I think it's about how short life really is... and in a life that wont last long, the only thing that finally matters is love (immerse their souls in love)... not the money, not being famous and not having many fake friends instead of a few true... Only love...
i think its about; someone whos tried to commit suicide by jumping from something and neighbors' cold hands are trying to wake them up and then they pass out again and the machine is their body and it wount work right and then they start to die and people scream and the person can feel death someing and then they die and the people think of happy thoughts of the person's life and 'immerse their souls in love'
Well then it must be a great comfort to Gods children that the evil one is vanquished and that through sorrow, darkness and pain you can experience and witness the countenance and presence of the crucified One.
To me therefore this wonderful song is reminiscent to Ps. 103.
I just saw them live in San Diego last night... they're absolutely breathtaking! What they play live sounds almost identical (often times better) then all their studio recordings. When they performed this song, it was soooo amazing I cried!

They say it's about staring the devil in the eye when your time comes, and how he always gets the last laugh.
Thom only plays this song at the end of sets because it drains him of energy.
There's a lot of info on it out there!

Well i am from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
And i had the chance to see them live on 24th March of this year and it was the best day of my fuckin life.
This is one of my favourite songs by far and they played it, i couldn't believe it and started to cry.
It's amazing the emotions that they can take off you.
So don't be hopeless i never expected that they would come to my country and look! :)
