anyway, if you don't believe that stevie wonder has (or at least had) a technically comparable (and in my opinion, superior) voice to GM, type Stevie Wonder vocal range into youtube and check out the clip...audio proof that, just like GM, Stevie is a 4 octave tenor, but IMHO, his upper range has more richness and more character - which is why I believe GM chose to sing the song in d minor instead of e minor...just my opinion though, no need to get upset...
