In all honesty. If David Hayter did not write the film or play Snake, it would end up another Hollywood failure, and would damage the image the game series spent many years creating for itself. I have to say, I am glad the film is cancelled, and I really hope it stays that way.

In one of the earlier MGS games which was based after MGS 3, Solid Snake kills Big Boss because Big Boss turns into a bad guy, but in MGS 3 Big Boss was a real good guy, so I was wondering what happened to Big Boss to turn him bad.

@dbzboxer If you play MGS3 and pay attention to the story you should get an idea of why Big Boss ends up as a "bad" guy... it is completely explained in the ending... it's also explained in the ending of MGS4

BB is told that Boss defected to the soviet union (this was all really a secret mission for The Boss, wich went bad) BB is then sent to kill Boss, after being told a bunch of lies, the boss actually plays along, following her orders, because she is still loyal to USA, and will give her life for her country, BB kills boss, and is then told all the bullshit he's been fed and goes bananas... this was the shortest version EVER! lol

I understood that from playing MGS 3, but I still don't know why Big Boss goes on to become bad. I know that Big Boss is eventually killed by Solid Snake in one of the earlier MGS games, I think it's one of the 8 bit MGS games.

@krone900 big boss doesn't really become bad. he tries to change to world to fit The boss's perspective, Major Zero is also trying to do this (Zero and Big Boss have different translation of the boss's views, both of them are wrong) however the boss's original view is beautiful and would bring peace to the world if it worked. Zero then orders Solid Snake to kill big boss (who zero believes is wrong, not knowing that he's wrong as well) MGS3 is actually the birth of the Patriots

@krone900 Snake kills big boss in Metal Gear (before the solid) there were two games before MGS. Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2.. i am not sure wich one has the death of big boss, but i think their probably something like Nintendo, Sega... it's OLD... maybe it was for DOS/Win 95 PC's as well but i'm not sure... i've never played those games... however you can get a MGS encyclopedia, wich contains all the information and storylines of all the games from Metal Gear 1 up to MGS4

I was 6 when I play MGS1 on Playstation, I'm french, so it was the french version. An HORRIBLE version. After that, for MGS2 and 3 they did it in english and I discover the voice of Snake.
