  • Apple might just go back to the POWER format and I wished they would! Put an end to the hackintoshers... why don't they just go buy a Mac instead of hacking OS X! Apple doesn't need any kids getting into their OS that's for sure... leave the hacking for the windows users where they belong.

  • @theharlinator because actual macs have shitty hardware for a fucking price 2-3x their actual value...there it is in a nutshell

  • @planefreak3 Yeah, I know it's a drag to put air in your tires on your bicycle to get to the dope man...

  • @theharlinator apple computers are shitty, theyre OS is good, id rather get MUCH BETTER than some Core 2 duo laptop with a POS Geforce 9600m for $2500 (ripoff)

  • Too bad you can't get a desktop system with this processor. Although there probably wouldn't be a lot of software available (which, I'm sure, is why no one makes desktops with this chip), sucks that everything is "LOCKED IN" to "X86"...

  • The power6 IS a different processor, cell chips are made to be an all in one package, and power6s work in parallel

  • ibm was smart, and gave up on software and personal computers when gates rolled along to jump over to hardware, apple needs to find something to call their own, unless thats Pc accessories ofc ><..

  • You may want to check out the software lineup from IBM. They are really far from gaving up on software ;).

  • IBM is still making innovations in personal computing... But I do not like apple's methods, apple hardware isn't as good as IBM, nor will I ever use it. IBM is simply the best and will always be the best.

  • they shoulda installed that on apple

  • If they came out with these a little sooner then I'm sure they would have. Apple went over to Intel because the PPC chips couldn't give them the power they needed for their next line of systems, they were fairly stagnent whilst Intel were going ahead leaps and bounds. They didn't want there to be a massive gap in hardware power between Mac's and "PC's", so decided to use the traditional "PC" cpu's instead. It was a good move too, higher compatibility levels was a result.
