Hey man, the best thing I can tell you for building chops is to find the 10 hour workout by steve vai. Other than that work on your finger strength. No easy answer there :( The setup on this guitar isn't that great nor was it on the tele I played the cover on lol touch has EVERYTHING to do with your speed. Not too heavy, yet heavy enough to make a sound :)

@CanadaRoksEh that what this is only that i tweaked it a little for my SG. I also have it saved another spot on the X3L for my strat/tele. You'll probably need to tweak it a little unless youre playing the EJ or custom shop strat or whatever hes playing at the moment lol :D

hey man good playing. The E in the chorus has a 7th on the B string along with the G# on the G string. It's basically an E7. I'm pretty sure he is muting everything but the E on the E string, the G# on the G string and the D on the B string. Sounds like he coul be leaving the D string open also for that extra 7th sound. My band is working this up. Your video really helped, Thanks.

Is this effect an exact copy of the original. It´s sound like it. When you struke all string together it´s sound really fat or thick. Really nice. Already Thanks for your reply. Greets Maarten

It's just gain from the simulated amp and then a simulated boost (boost +eq). I took the original sound and changed it some... I was happy with it but to me it was too thin on the guitars I owned at the time. I recently picked up a PRS SE... You should hear it on the PRS :D

Actually it's D mixolydian. Which is the same as D major, but with a flat 7th. So DEF#GABCD. But yeah, this song has a bunch of different modes and ideas throughout... At the end of the day, it's just music though, let your ears be your guide.

Well the real trick is that you can play it in any of the mode forms... I just chose D Dorian because it's are the easiest. Major and Minor are both scales and "sounds". 2,3,6 are minor modes (sounds) while 1,4,5 are major modes (sounds). Glad to see someone else likes theory though :D

Hey thanks a lot Rob :D I'm glad I could be of some use. I agree with you about the tabs. I play in a couple bands currently and it's a lot easier to use your ear then try to find good tabs and then remember them. If you can HEAR what is happening in a song you can make it make sense. PLUS, once your ear gets good enough you can improv licks that sound just as good as the originals, or at least good enough to get by if you can't remember the original lick. Ear training for the win :D

i really think that it's best if you just tab it out. you already know how to play it - just type it out.

it's kind of selfish to ask this but learning from a video can only do so much. i think tabs ACCOMPANIED with a video has the best potential of teaching.

either way, thanks a lot for taking the time posting this tutorial while everyone else just "shows off". though i still think it's best if tabs were provided...
