I just wanted to say that the Eurofighter is an awesome plane. and I personally think that if there's ever another conflict, i'll be glad to have the US F-22 and UK Eurfigher combo out there!
How can a IRIS-T equipped EF against SU-35 be a very even match???? The Su-35 can't supercruise, can't accelerate as fast, can't climb as fast, has higher RCS, has lower service ceiling, worse Radar, no Sensorfusion,no PIRATE,higher wingload, etc.... such post are really tiresome. You can hit with the IRIS-T even a target behind you, because its the most agile short range A/A Missile in the World. So please people think before posting rubbish...

PIRATE is a 3rd generation FlIR and IRIST system with a range of over 90 NM and is immune to weather or flares,jammings,etc.The system is able to detect and track up to 200 targets at once, while searching for more and tracking some of the contacts with higher priority. The PIRATE quickly scans a very large field of view of at least up to +/-75° in azimut, and doesn't simply detect IR radiation, it "sees",distinguishes,shapes,movement
the captor has 130 nm range officially?i thought it was about 75 nm.I think i am not wrong about this because i have an interview in the greek defence press of a high rank engineer of euroradar saying that"the new easa radar will have about the same range as the captor has today meaning 70 nm aprox"mate i really want to believe you!can you tell me where you read the facts about the range of the captor and of the pirate?thanks!
The EF doesn't need a backward radar, with the Sensorfusion and 3D image from the CAPTOR the pilot sees everything around him and can then fire the IRIS-T. Later the digital Meteor can be even be guided throug the pilot from the 2way datalink and do a fully stealth approach. Sorry but you don't seem to have a big idea about the EF.

in recent red flag contests the eurofighter scored records of 6 nil, twice against USAF F16s and three times, 5 nil, against USAF F15s.
they ran them multiple times as the US pilots couldnt believe that it happened once, then twice...then..well...
perhaps the only equivalent is the F22..and thats debatable also. it may even be superior to that...it is newer technology.

typhoon isn't big leap of tech over su 35 like f 22 , and irbis e radar range is unmatched which is compared to apg 77

90 nm?dude is it that capable?I thought it was about 20nm! 90nm is more than the double range of the CAPTOR,so why to have a radar in this case?

You are right 90nm is wrong but its range is definitive beyond 90km. Btw the range of the CAPTOR is much bigger then 90nm.
German pilots reported fighter-sized planes could be detected 340km away. Officially 290km.
