  • Sonny Curtis wrote this song many years before this documentary was filmed so yes, you are wrong.

  • Now I may be wrong, but I believe that this film coincided with Paul's purchase of the publishing rights to Buddy Holly's music catalog. So maybe it wasn't just about setting the record straight. Paul's no dummy, though, and this was an interesting documentary to watch. The lady playing the celseste/bell part on "Everyday" was a nice touch if memory serves. Thanks for the post!

IIRC the lady on the celeste was Norman Petty's wife, Vi. Petty was the band's manager/ recording guru and the subject of Holly's complaint that he was owed money (hence he joined the Winter Dance Party tour).

  • Norman Petty had the studio in Clovis, New Mexico, right? I've read a little about this, but what was Petty's involvement in getting Buddy the Coral Records deal? And even after the money dispute, didn't Petty continue to knock out overdubbed records featuring Buddy's rough vocal tracks after his death? Thanks for the input.

  • The stories about Holly's financial motivation to do the Winter Dance Tour have been repeated so often they are uncritically taken as fact, but things are more complex. Some biographers claim Petty's portrayal as a villan is completely unjustified - at the time of Holly's death, Petty was attempting to get Holly's share of the frozen assets released to him.

  • we had 2 watch it in asdan

my m8s were moaning but i told them 2 shut it, coz paul mccartney was speaking!:L

  • The movie was wrong. They were only mad because there was a lot wrong in the movie.I liked the movie also. But i know it wasnt going along with the facts.Watch the real Buddy Holly story.

  • Where's the rest of it??? Met Sonny in 2003, great guy.

  • Sonny Curtis once blanked me in a London club in 1973..There was only him and me in it at the time. Up until then I was a big fan but like most of the stars he seems to have feet of clay.

  • My cousin who lived near Lubbock, used to jam with Sonny Curtis.Lots of people dont like fans coming up to them.
