Patron saints, weird or not, are prayed to. The Catholic Church says they don't PRAY to saints but "ASK" saints to pray for them. Pray is an Old English word meaning "ASK." So Catholics are praying to saints even when they're "asking" saints to pray for them. This wasn't done in the Bible. Augustine of Hippo advocated the practice of communion with dead saints and intercession for the dead. John Damascene admitted that Catholics WORSHIP MARY though The BIBLE SAYS ONLY WORSHIP GOD. (Ex.20:1-4)
