1:22 Saint Bladina patron of those falsely accused of cannibalism, servant girls, torture victims. Blandina was filled with such power that even those who were taking turns to torture her in every way from dawn to dusk were weary and exhausted. They themselves admitted that they were beaten, that there was nothing further they could do to her, and they were surprised that she was still breathing for her entire body was broken and torn.No woman had ever suffered so much
0:49 Saint Brendan of Clonfert or Bréanainn of Clonfert patron of boatmen; divers; mariners; sailors; travellers; whales; diocese of Clonfert; diocese of Kerry
0:43 Saint Clare of Assisi patron of eye disease, goldsmiths, laundry, embroiderers, gilders, good weather, needleworkers, Santa Clara Pueblo, telephones, telegraphs, television
0:22 Saint Monica patron of abuse victims, alcoholics, alcoholism, difficult marriages, disappointing children, homemakers, housewives, married women, mothers, victims of adultery, victims of unfaithfulness, victims of verbal abuse, widows, wives
0:15 Saint Nicholas of Myra is the one who brings gifts to the children and the poor, he was the inspiration for Santa Claus (SAiNT niCoLAUS) Patron of Children, sailors, fishermen, merchants, broadcasters, the falsely accused, prostitutes, repentant thieves, pharmacists, archers, pawnbrokers. He is NOT an unlikely patron saint, during his celebration children get preasants and many people bare the name of Nicolas, Nicolae, Nicu. Thumbs down for this (U_U)
Patron saints, weird or not, are prayed to. The Catholic Church says they don't PRAY to saints but "ASK" saints to pray for them. Pray is an Old English word meaning "ASK." So Catholics are praying to saints even when they're "asking" saints to pray for them. This wasn't done in the Bible. Augustine of Hippo advocated the practice of communion with dead saints and intercession for the dead. John Damascene admitted that Catholics WORSHIP MARY though The BIBLE SAYS ONLY WORSHIP GOD. (Ex.20:1-4)
