This movie shows Shushmita Shen in the role of a prostitute who gets beaten by Mithun Chokbori. I don't think this serves the feminist cause at all because these women are actually chanting names of feminine divinities on the surface but handing over their powers to male members of their society. They confuse Kali's identity with other divinities as well. She is Shiva's consort and destroyer of evil, not a permiter of all kinds of sexual perversions that men want to impose on Her.
@ritubahar u r right about the movie but if you grew up with Kali Ma in your life and family you would know Kali ma doesn't judge if you give her your respect and devotion she will be by your side no matter what. Think about it does the Bible say NO HOES OR HOOKERS ARE ALLOWED TO READ OR PRAY TO ME BECAUSE THEY ARE NASTY?! i dont think so

A woman going down on her knees in front of a man with a conch is not Kali worship at all, it is cinematically empowering men actually while they show a token, grotesque statue of what they imagine Ma Kali to be. She is Shiva's consort, neither His servant, nor His destroyer as the low-class media show them to be.
