Guntank? Close in, it has no melee weapons, it's nothing but range! A distance battle is just asking for those cannons to hammer you!
Guncannon..again, no melee weapons, but this one has legs, so I wouldn't be surprised if it kicked you.
As for the Gundam, I say good luck fighting that monster. If Char in a Gelgoog couldn't take it down, then LT Raynor in a GM Sniper won't stand a chance, I'm sorry to say..
I loved this game, though I never played the premiem disc. It is the on;y gudam piloting simulator that felt right. The AI was amzaingly responsive for a dreamcast game and things worked like you would think. I could get my AI allies to do pincer attacks. The whole things was well thought out and exicuted. They need to take this premis and basic build and making it into a full updated game for todays consoles.
Man id buy a dreamcast just to play this game... i have an import of MS Gundam 0079 for the Wii, its kinda similar sept you actually feel like the gundam swinging that sword and aiming the gun instead of a pilot. Well w/e.
this game is really cool.. but if u want real cool old school gundam... Get a Japanese Sega Saturn and get Gundam Side Story 1 2 and 3... those games are fkn AWESOME
Maybe not the fighting ones like Gundam Battle Assault, but defiantly the other ones. All the current systems claim to have power, but so far, noone else has demonstrated the first person cockpit view.
there was on comeing for the 360 gundam operation troy what ever happend to that game that one looked bad ass i was waiting for that one so fucking much it was gunna release in the us they kept pushing back farther and farther till now its tba for a usa release
I just got this game running again, easily the best console mech game ...really of all time that I have played. STILL tons of fun. I never played Steel Battalion tho, but i always wanted to. (That controller looked WICKED)
oh! i almost forgot. you need to have the original japanese version of this game in order to play this because it only works with a japanese game save.
i have no idea. all i know is that this game was hard. not really rewarding i guess. i always got my clock cleaned. the guy who posted this video is a genius.
lol you use movement and lock on to win fights better and stay away from close combat, its hard to control and slow while trying to guard or swing in close range. Levels are fun and even on easy you could get destroyed and difficulty spikes up in certain levels. This game is great for the gundam fan. feels like ur in the cockpit.
but if you look at the end of the vid the players unit looks like some sort of GM, plus the machine gun s/he has looks like the NF*GMG-Type.37/100mm machine gun that an rx-79 uses, although this gun seems to fire a lot slower than the rx-79's
the unit that the player was fighting against was a Guntank (which belongs to the EFSF), so that means the player is playing as ZEON, but it seems like an MS-05 Zaku I or MS-06 Zaku II
I just bought another dreamcast a few days ago, and I've been looking for this game everywhere! Ebay only has Japanese imports and I don't think they will play on my system. If anyone can tell me where I could possibly find this game please tell me. thnx
Also, why does every gundam game have a boost system that is unlimited? Those boosters use propellant, they don't last forever. In the shows the gundams always got back to their carriers before they ran out, that's why you never see it happen. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't.
I mean, did no one ever wonder why they would dock with their ships and relaunch? It's not just ammo, they needed fuel. Or in SEEDs case, to recharge. This is gundam, the of the real robot genre. Nothing is just magic.
Wow, I remember playing this game at a friends house years ago. Pretty fun, but very dated now looking back. What always bugged me was the big gaps in between the monitors. In the shows there was no gap, why would there be? This game has on screen clutter more for the sake of having clutter rather than being a simulator.
That and the machine gun should be making more of a chattering noise like it was actually firing on full auto. It sounds like the bolt is cycling at a painfully slow rate.
imo I want to play this now(my friend gave me a dreamcast with no games, i missed out on this system and am trying to get quake and unreal asap) but the fmv is from journey to jaburo on ps2
I see that you are playing in a manner to my liking almost, music off, machine gun, vulcans and puru puru pack on.
I am a master of this game in that I usually relegate both fangs to hide and kill all four enemies since 2000.
Also reguardless of being a master, this game owns you because of the nature of never knowing what is going to happen unless the mission goes your way by taking out the long range enemy first, saving the gundam for last.
This vid is a bit out of context with the main game really, I'll post another vid of "normal" gameplay soon. The reason it's out of context is two fold though; firstly the area is huge and takes ages to cross and secondly the enemies you fight are very tough indeed. So the game turns into a long battle of attrition.
they should TOTALLY make a G GUNDAM game for the KINECT. i mean Universal century is better, but you gotta admit that could work.

This is a pretty neat and well made game, considering how old it is.

they should make more gundam games first person cockpit. Seriously, the whole point of playing gundam games is to feel like a gundam pilot.
Sure its harder to control, but thats the beauty of it.
