@gilvinsets nope I have an epic 4g and it has a taskkiller built in. Just hold the home button to open multitasking list. And yep if you install task killer it will destroy your battery
i asked one guy and he said htc actually builds in an app manager and you cant see it in the nexus one but its there but in newer htc phones you can actually see it and interact with it but samsung and other phones dont have a task manager other than what is built in with androids os
dude help me out have you ever had a samsung phone
had an htc nexus one then needed more space so bought nexus s bought to get galaxy nexus but till then the samsung nexus s is always laggy till i dl and kill apps all the time help me out
I need android task killer. My phone upon boot up has so much bloatware on it and is opened all at once when I open it, and it's just really annoying how I have to do that. And it never goes away too. Sometimes I can only open 1 tab in the web browser. And it quits some of the other important apps I have open.
Yeah. I actually stopped using atk against my better judgement about 1yr ago. Hard at first until u realize ur cell actually runs smooth without it. Great tip and explanation to back it up.
i used a nexus one and had no probs until i finally bought a nexus s and until a week ago my phone ran like crap and to be honest i never used task killers on nexus one but both mine and dads phones both samsung run better now that some one told us to dl task killers
i don't thinnk you could say that android is better, i think they are for diferent people.. i use as my main phone an iPhone but for work i use an htc evo 4g they are both great phones but i like the iphone a bit more because of it's apps. thats my opinion. i like the htc because the of the freedom of the os. so i use the best of both worlds :)

Root your phones to end bloatware a small risk. But if done right you're golden.

You could save space on your phone by manually going to settings>applications>manage apps> running
Then killing the ones you don't want to run , I do this frequently to clear cache on some of my apps like YouTube and the stock browser

CyanogenMod 7 has purging of assets which allows the system to automatically recover RAM so in this case Chris I agree.

Even if you've got an app that's misbehaving, Fast Reboot will kill apps and restart them. Much better than a task killer.

I always get the 'Low Storage Space' warning...what are your best fixes for this?
gmjacinto630 5 months ago
@gmjacinto630 Uninstall apps (or push them to SD, if you're able). Storage space is allocated strictly for installed apps.
