  • Wow, A spiral stove.. Haven't seen that since like the 70's

  • where were the cutting skills

  • what a sec. where is the cauliflower in this dish?

  • just made it, amazing.

  • I like how he got Soya Sauce over the wall at 3:43 haha.

  • That soy sauce just hit your wall! Try aiming better the next time! - Just kidding. Keep on cookin'! :)

  • looks really good

  • i tried it,,, damn amazing.

  • I like the way you have a cookingshow with the items you have, unlike all the other shows who have Brand new kitchens.

    btw, Now I'm hungry :(

  • Cool knife skills man....I envy you...the cleaver ensures that it tastes my blood each time I use it!!

  • + for your knife skill and - for your vdo's quality.

  • My native tongue is Tamil, but I am an Indian before I am a Tamil. And by the way, while I can speak, read and write Hindi fluently, I would like to point out that there are TWO classical languages of India, as declared by a Constitutional decree of the government of India--and Hindi is NOT one of them.

    Peace.

  • Dude awesome skills with the knife!!!

  • Writing down the recipe as u speak.... Thank You!!

  • Thank you for this simple recipe. Is there a video for making those deep fried cauliflower? or do u get em frozen? If so where?

  • hi you speak really very nice english can you show tamarin rice cooking please.

  • language is got nothing to do with cooking enjoy the recipe taste does not see any language barriers - you sound like the regional politicians who use language to win votes. Be proud being Indian I have travelled a lot & it is good to see a sizeable non-indian customers enjoying indian food.

  • @shabari05 Whether I should call myself Indian or not is up to me, let alone feeling proud about it. I'm brown. That's the only indelible identity stuck to me and that's the last one I'm going to acknowledge. You know what? This is all a little too complex for you, so keep "travelling" on and don't make stops at places like these. Your ignorance is too stinky and I'll be happy to be rid of it.

  • @shabari05 and you sound like a complete jackass. i cant understand why you watched this video. was it for the recipe or was it to talk about his language? i think englishtamil gave you a fitting reply so ill probably be easy on you.

  • @shabari05 English = Universal Language, if you think hes going to limit his viewership by speaking in a language which will most probably only be undertsood by one region, you need to reasses whether his ultimate aim is attempting to share his brilliant cooking skills with the masses, or make some kind of pointless statement.....I think youll find its the former buddy.

  • Nice presentation.. :) Can I ask you exactly how you re-heat previously fried stuff, and still get them smooth? When you mention toaster, do you mean micro-wave? pls share that small secret in detail! :)

    thanks..

  • street food

  • this is gud ...lil different from what i prepare but still gud....u chop all the stuff like i do n same way you also don't have any specific measurement for anything....just everything based on taste....but i do appreciate ur food prepration style.....keep it up......n put some more dishes.....

  • Nice recipe... FYI Cilantro is not parsley

  • ya you are right

    if i'm not mistakin

    cilantro = coriander

  • @sraji16 for your information cilantro is also called chinese parsley. thank you come again.

  • @sraji16 Cilantro is a parsley.

  • Hi EnglishTamil, That comment is not meant for you...I hope you got that. Just saw some others in the responses..couldn't help but express my opinion.

  • Disturbing to see the comments...why does it matter what language one knows. If you can treat all humans with respect.. that is what is needed. My god, only fanaticism like these start problems small and big...like the comments found here to gory genocide. Learning a language is a personal matter and can't and shouldn't be forced upon anyone.

And knowing the language is not a barometer for patriotism. one could be Phd in a language and be shamefully corrupt.

  • ARUNBAKT:

Hi. You would have noticed that in my responses to 'podgybear', I was making the same point that you are, but much more forcefully.

  • Hi. Thanks for the yummy recipe. I tried it today and it came out quite well except that it wasn't crispy as shown in your video. Any suggestions on how to make it crispy?

  • add more corn starch.

  • Hey Englishtamil, You are doing a great job. Keep up the good work.I want to know how to make pepper kozhambu and some sweets ... Hm.. say rava kesari,Jamun..or halwa... Can you show how to make some sweets... or take any sweet of your choice... Thanks

  • For all your ranting, raving, and Hindi chauvinism, you POOR LOSER, do you know that the states comprising HINDI belt (Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh) are referred to as the "BIMARU" (Bi=Bihar, Ma=Madhya Pradesh, R=Rajasthan, U=Uttar Pradesh) states of the Union of India? And in case you haven't got it, "BIMARU" is a pun on the Hindi word "BEEMAAR". So much for the progress of the Hindi belt.

Ab jaake ek glass paani mein doob mar.

  • ROFL @ "Ab jaake ek glass paani mein doob mar."

  • do thamilians eat anything other than sambhar ? You monkeys dont know how to cook... damn when tamildadi will be seperetaed from rest of india.. we need to throw these morons out of iNDIA.. PERIYAR WAS A BASTARD & FANATIC.. ANNADORAI WAS A HYPOCRAT

KARUNANIDHI IS A THIEF.. JAYALALITHA IS A DACOIT AND LOOTER OF PUBLIC MONEY .. AND THAMILIANS ARE EARTHWORMS..

  • Well said but Anyone who wants a separate country from India can leave India..India kisi ke baap ka nahi hai jo jab chahe le jae

  • PODGYBEAR:

I do not understand why you compliment 'THAMILTAMIL' on his bigoted diatribe against Tamils.

There are ASSHOLE polticians EVERYWHERE, and to castigate an entire community on the basis of those politicians' behaviour is meaningless, and betrays a deep-seated hatred.

Naan ippadi kuruvadhu poi-yaa? (Translated into Hindi, that means "Kya mera yeh kehna asathya hai?")

  • SUBRAYO I am not against anyone..I am an Indian and I respect each and every Indian.I don't like when we disrespect each other on the basis of language, skin color, culture and talk about dividing the country. Most of us r not giving anything to the country how the hell we expect anything back?Rem unless n until we respect each other no one else will do it.India is all abt "UNITY IN DIVERSITY" n we needn't loose it

  • PODGYBEAR:

There is one thing I do not understand about your comments: if you respect all Indians immaterial of their ethnicity, why did you comment that THAMILTAMIL's abusive words against Tamils were "well said".

    Can you clarify that please?

  • Subrayo let me give an example, When a family members doesn respect u or ur parents/elders u defend but however no of fights or differences of openion u have with tht members when an outsider comes to fight with him u r gonna fight for him since he is part of ur family :)

  • Subrayo let me give an example, When a family members doesn respect u or ur parents/elders u defend but however no of fights or differences of openion u have with tht members when an outsider comes to fight with him u r gonna fight for him since he is part of ur family :)

  • PODGYBEAR:

I could not understand your example, but I am glad you believe in the concept of 'Unity in Diversity', which applies very aptly to India. In fact, India as a nation defies conventional theories of political science which propound that a nation as diverse as India cannot stay together. Therefore, it draws the admiration of seasoned political scientists who specialise in the study of the notion of "nationhood".

    PODGYBEAR:

BUT if you believe in unity in diversity, why do you insist that all Indians ought to adopt Hindi? I see a contradiction there.

    Peace!

  • THAMILTAMIL:

The only one here with the intellectual capacity of an earthworm is YOU.

  • Can you cook the same dish WITH gravy please?

  • u can add soya sauce, vinegar and chilli sauce (skin green chili else it ll be too spicy) on hot flame. Now add some cornstarch mixed in water.Add pepper powder, Ajinimoto and then ur gobi on high flame.Remove it frm the burner. Add finely chopped green onions and eat..tadada!!

  • PODGYBEAR:

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for posting

  • Dei inda cleavera vechchu nallave vettarai. Perhaps you were born in a meatshop in previous birth :) Illa nejamave I am very impressed da.

  • I'm so hungry now after watching this! Lovely - Cheers.

  • Thanks for the vid. You are getting better with each vid. Keep up the good work.

  • hi suresh!

you say u r from chennai! how come u can speak english like an american?? (i'm not tryin to ofend u, I love your pod casts)

    just a wondermnt!

(sorry if u took it the wrong way)

  • No don't worry, it's simple question.

I am from Madras, but I've been in Canada for over 2 years. Before that, it was the influence from TV and movies. And I think I pick on accents and pronunciations quickly and naturally if I like what I hear. Tamil, English, whatever the language it is. I don't if that explains it.

I'm glad you like my podcasts. Thanks.

  • englishtamil I bet u didn't adapt hindi this well in spite of spending ur half of the life in India.Correct me if I am wrong.

  • PODGYBEAR:

Is the knowledge of Hindi essential to prove one's patriotism towards India?

  • I think yes since its r national language. For eg When you go to someone's house, irrespective of ur comfort level u try to follow their customs to show ur respect towards them then why not follow ur own house's custom?Hindi is no one's language.Irrespective of the belief tht hindi is North Indian's mother tongue, its a myth.Every state, region or village in India has its own language.Hindi is he only language which can make all of us together. If we can except English then why not Hindi?

  • Podgybear,

I take your question in a friendly tone, so please treat my answer the same way.

You didn't adapt to Tamil when you lived in Bombay/Delhi or wherever you were, did you? Then why am I expected to adapt to Hindi? Why is Hindi any special than any other language?

Actually, I think people can choose to learn any language regardless of where they are. My 'adaptation' to English is my personal choice, why should I justify it by doing something supposedly equivalent?

  • I didn't mean to offend u either englishtamil.I am sorry if it sounded so. Yes selection of language is ur choice and freedom and I agree wit you but I don't agree with your questions? Why should I adapt Tamil or in fact any other language unless n until i wan it?Tamil is your mother tongue and I have mine but Hindi is Our national language.Everyone should know it and use it with pride.

  • No, don't worry, you didn't offend me. And mine was just a rhetorical question to drive a point. But your misinformation seems to have misdirected my question.

Misinformation: India does not have a national language. Hindi is just one of the 20 odd 'official' languages. It does not enjoy any special status except that it's being spoken by over 40% Indians.

And I don't buy this argument of pride with anything, let alone in using a certain language.

  • Ur knowledge about India is really poor(m not sure whether u r frm India or Shrilanka).India does hav a national language which is Hindi and thts why it enjoys special status.I use it with pride and 40% of Inidans too and U r not even 0.1% of the total Indians population.Using any language is ur individual preference n i care a damn abt it

  • PODGYBEAR:

ENGLISHTAMIL is a PROUD Indian who hails from Tamil Nadu. I suggest that you please read the Constitution of India and improve your knowledge before commenting upon that of others. NOWHERE does the constitution of India speak of a "national language"; it mentions "official language of the Union", which would be Hindi AND English (Article 343).

    [...]

  • [...]

    PODGYBEAR:

Secondly, your logic is flawed--Hindi's status of being the native tongue of the single largest group of Indians does not by itself accord it the position of a national language. If it is the native tongue of 40% of Indians, remember that it is NOT the native tongue of a LARGER group of Indians (60%).

    [...]

  • [...]

    PODGYBEAR:

Remember that non-Hindi speakers have nothing against Hindi itself; rather, what they find offensive are the 'arrogant' attempts to accord it a status superior to that of other Indian languages, and to shove it down the throats of those whose native tongue it is not.

    [...]
