i think people are forgetting that she was girlfriend to orlando bloom for a long period of time and she now has another british boyfriend...everyone knows that one can get accustomed to speaking a certain way very quickly - it's a psychological thing and i truly believe that she's not purposely speaking in a british accent - give her a break

A person from Canada can speak just as well as a person from Australia. And she does sound pretentious because as mentioned below, she only spent a few months in New Zealand. She was born in California and grew up in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She just came back from living in New Zealand for a few months, but you'd think it would take longer than that to pick up an accent...
