@MinecraftHDFilms This is changing since Shure PG42 USB, SE ELECTRONICS SE 2200A USB and Audio Technica AT2020 USB came out. Great sounding microphones where you don’t have to buy the expensive interface. In future, we will see more and more a shift toward USB microphones
i bought a pre amp and it didn't work because it was too old for the "new" osx lion. I don't know what pre amp to get now or what to do. can anyone help please?
hey i am new to mac and i recorded a song already and some parts of the song has louder vocal parts and it plays into the left side of the headphones only and some vocal parts are not loud and i was wondering how i can change the velocity of the vocals to even it up and also level up the sound to one so it plays in both headphones thanks
do you know how to turn up just the vocal in garage band. i know theres a slider at the bottom but that turns up the instrumental and vocal at the same time ? thanx

There are USB microphones
brain96969 5 months ago 18
@brain96969 yes, but in13" macpros, you could not monitor what you are singing, in that case this is a great solution.
ciromendo 3 months ago
@ciromendo There are USB microphones where you can hear what you are singing like Shure USB PG27 and USB PG42
brain96969 3 months ago
@brain96969 USB microphones are not for vocals, you use a dynamic or condenser microphone for vocals, not a usb headset, thats for gaming.

@brain96969 99% of Vocal recording microphones are run by a XLR cable.

Nothing pops up when I plug it in.. I bought my Mac pretty much for Garage Band and I can't even connect the mic.

@MyFavoriteRapper Go to your Preferences -> Audio/Midi, and make sure the Pre-Amp is chosen as an input source.
