  • it looks cool and simple but i cant do it :/

  • wey lu sapa ?

  • @bunghau445 i gajah lu berak rata2 haha #somalaysian

  • This is such an interesting martial art. You're entire body's a weapon. I want to learn it, but cannot find any places here in Chicago that teach it.

  • @Knowledge3440 I know for a fact there are multiple schools in chicago that teach Capoeira. Look harder.

  • It sounds like it hurts when he lands, lol.

  • this isint au cortadao, thats estrelina, >_>

  • That might be easy for me. Since I already know how to do one hand cartwheels and pivots our whatever.

  • @kaliSidiana like we CARE

  • @Devilgenes ok. you dont have to get an attitude. im sure a lot more people posted stuff that no one cares about. god youre such a troll. lol

  • Cool.

  • once again the teacher makes it look sooooo easy=)

  • WTF, this shits real?

Fuck i saw this on Bob's burgers and then RWJ and -.-, WOW!

  • i have learnt capoeira at skool and from videos on here . practise makes perfect

  • vc é lindo professor :*

  • Esse eu fazia. This i knew do. Mas chamo au na coluna - com uma mão.

  • What's the difference between this and an au amazonas?

  • I from brasil you is noob man.

  • 25 Missed the "Like" button XD

  • @muker123 ive learned that if you avoid the train by stepping to the side it ends up not hitting you XD people are too angry these days it causes too much stress and ends up killing you faster

  • @muker123 i didnt say it to be popular i said it cause it was funny to myself and hey perhaps if other ppl get the reference and they get a chuckle out of it thats cool too thanks for commenting on it hope you liked it :P

  • @muker123 oh sorry im out of it today sorry i get it

  • Just to clear the air...my previous comment is for the video above and the person...NOT THE ART OVERALL...and more the that...it's just the video that sucks,lol...oh,and am still laughing,lmfao...

  • Change the battery in your smoke detector....and you idiots shut up about Eddie Gordo! How many times do I have to say it!?

  • What's that advanced move called, the one that looks like a Cortado but uses opposite footwork? (meaning just like Cortado but switching legs)

  • lateef crowder knocked out 20 ppl

  • learn capo with net ..... hahahahah :D never gonna happen ! I`M going to capoeria class !

  • I'M SO ANGRY WHY CAN'T I GET THIS DOWN!!!!

It seems like I do things backwards!

  • I like your explanations. Also for people who are scared to do harder moves, it's good to show startup moves that are easier to perform, and then show the progress that ultimately leads to the moves shown. Well done.

  • lol these moves r of tekken 7

  • @WTFISWRONGISM No Tekken 7 uses moves that have existed for ages

  • ultimate way of defending urself, its effective and u look cool!

  • ty for uploading all the vids =) i started capoeira 2 months ago and its really helpfull to watch some skills also at home for better understanding =)

  • nice style

  • au de costa ?! claro que nao, isso é "aú e queda de rin"

  • 0:01

  • so cool! I wish I could do that!

  • There's a move pretty much like this but backwards. Anyone know what it's called?

  • @MusikRYTM3 It seems to be "Au de costa"

  • @CarecaGCB

nope, the shape it´s similar to au de costa, but this is doing it frontwards and twisting at the end.

In au de costa you first twist your back so much that you can do it backwards and backwards

  • จะลองไปฝึกดูนะค่ะ เพื่อจะได้เก่งๆแบบนี้บ้าง

  • capoeira ja nasce no sangue do brasileiro... capoeira pra gringo é mato

  • shit is S-E-X-Y

  • hey my name is Salsicha :) Nice Tips.

  • I really want to join this at it seems amazing the moves and everything,

so i am probably gunny sound like a retard, but if you were doign this kick it would go for the head area maybe? or does it do force on the chest aswel?

  • @chaddereric Capoeira isn't all about physically destroying your opponent like most martial arts. There is a lot of peripheral things to learn... music, instruments, culture, acrobatics, style, and lots more. It's a whole way of life. This move is done as part of the "conversation" with your opponent. You won't see it in an MMA fight!

  • @traylorree I have done this move while having a "conversatiion" in the roda and I've also pulled this off sparring in a kickboxing gym and a karate and tkd gym.Right after I kicked with my right leg doing the au cortado I exploded in with a lead left leg side kick-left jab-right cross-takedown

  • @soccerguy.....u actually sound like u know what's up...and very well put i should say....as long as u got the point....yeh,and i noticed u mentioned "beginning capoeirista"...,but i like the fact where it's not ur primary art....good luck training.......spice

  • 18 people are jealous of this guys skills

  • Basically a weird cartwheel. I love it

  • I realy want to start capoeira while i'm kinda young (13) but i live in aberdare, wales and the closest i've found is cardiff and its a struggle to get there does anyone know a capoeira club nearer me and does anyone know how i can train capoeira without a teacher at the moment all of the capoeira videos i have found are pretty advanced what should i start off on, i've got a couple of kicks alright and i know ginga what should i do now

  • @DragonAging dont ever stop doing ginga. mestre maxwell teaches in wales in the welsh capoeira school in swansea. i dont know anywhere closer than that, but keep doing ginga until u find somewhere :)

  • i don't get the hating on capoeira. it's a style designed to look like dance because martial arts were forbidden to slaves. same as any martial art, if you face a better fighter, he or she will beat you. if you face a worse fighter, you'll kick their ass.

  • Sorry, but here in Brazil it are de basic moves.

is very fun know you are learning Capoeira too.

one day we can to "play" ( I believe it is the correct form to say) Capoeira.

Muito bom o video e confeço que parece bem facil aprender com os seus metodos.

Parabéns, você parece um ótimo professor.

  • @fox007dc yeh...u right ...capoeira is playing....u gotta learn to mix it up...

  • yeh if u were standing like a target,lol...not saying the it wont hurt an under-estimating opponent....but the physical damages the a person doing capoeira might recieve while flipping and pre judge the resulting balance...hmmmmmmmm...a sudden wire kick or even a side kick followed by repetive angles of assault...hmmmmtake out the hands consistently when a flip is attempted, distort the balance point...in other words...fuck up the landing....get it

  • @nigiespice i hate people like you i used to fight tae kwon do and its people that say the well all you gotta do is catch the kick or kick his hands the thing is your not adding the fear factor nobody likes to get kicked in the face or hit in a fight it hurts you with the judges and it hurts you in general when someone is flying or flipping at you, You back up its true everyone that says they'd catch kicks or sweep the hands is a liar you'd have to have the fastest reflexes ever

  • @MCYoungJT i dont do any martial arts but me and my friends have fights with one another sort of like a fight club but no face shots and no straight punches. if you know how they fight then you can deflect some pretty fast shots. i've stopped a few kicks to the mid section by dropping my elbow in time and stepping into them.

  • @MrDeadwater i never said you cant block them its just in a move like this face it your not kicking his hands and your not gonna catch a fast spinning fly kick you can block it or dodge it your not catching it

  • @nigiespice First, you don't flip during an actual fight, that's only when you join a Roda. Second, the force behind a Capoeira kick and a TKD kick are ENTIRELY different. Trying to stop a capoeira kick is the equal of stopping a baseball bat with your arms. There are a few famous videos demonstrating this. And you mentioned about standing targets. Capoeira... Probably the martial art with the most movement of them all..? You'd have to be retarded to think you'd win against a true capoeirista

  • this is simply a traditional dance/excersice and not fighting at all,its more like dancing athletically....

  • bring that kid-play bullshit to military grade mui Thai and see what happens...ha ha ha ha ha .....would love to see my daughter stomp through ur spleen while doing ur bullshit...ha ha ha

  • @nigiespice Its more dancing but if you look on youtube you can see mad kicks that will brain damage your skull

  • @nigiespice P.S. About your "military grade muay thai" comment, I'm a muay thai fighter, grappler, and beginning capoeirista. Your daughter would throw a kick, be welcomed with a negativa, not realize what was going on because if you don't take capoeira it's rediculously difficult to predict, and would catch what is called in Muay Thai as a "foot jab" to the lower abdomen or be swept and taken down. I've taken Muay Thai. I've taken all sorts of classes. I've competed. Capoeira is no joke.

  • @scoccerguy15 Agreed 500% Would like to see anyone standing against a Bicuda, Esporão or a simple Ponteira with their barehands.

  • start with the basics before you go futher, that saved my ass alot of useless pain~

  • wow, you can do a perfect cartwheel XD looks tough

  • Don't be disappointed if you cant find somewhere to do Capoeira, its a joke.

  • @flarenum1 The joke is that some of the world's deadliest kicks are from Capoeira. It is a martial art not a fighting art but the physical conditioning and powerful techniques is very exceptional believe me. It won't train you to fight necessarily but it is a fantastic martial art.

  • @bryanzellar thats is true, im just doing to get my legs condition...hey it might, might come in handy~

  • @bryanzellar Capoeira is not a martial art, its a slave dance.

  • @daaskapital1 I suppose you are right technically, I was just trying to say that it isn't a self defense style but more like a martial art style. And I am sure many people can and do refer to it being a martial art instead of a simple dance. The kicks are banned in a lot of tournaments though and I hear they are also banned in the UFC, I don't know if that is true though, just something I heard.

  • @bryanzellar Cool, i was just joking though when i called it a slave dance, im not that disrespectful, lol. And you are right that it is more of a MA style than a SD style.

  • @bryanzellar Ima a hardcore MMA and UFC fan, and to the best of my knowledge none of capoeira's kicks are illegal. The only way i think it would be is if your opponent had atleast one knee on the ground and obviously a nut shot

  • @mmamecca Oh ok. Just something I heard and never looked into. I know there have been kumitaes I have attended where the double leg take downs and "momentum" ( for a lack of a better term) kicks were not allowed for them being too lethal to most anywhere on the body. The leg sweeps that were banned were only the ones where the opponent was flipped mid air to land on his head. I suppose that would be accepted in cage fighting though, but not in a point tournament of course. lol

  • @daaskapital1 martial arts is what you make of it,just like a teacher can only teach you what he knows. We made the words we use like "martial arts"for fighting styles we use,so with that said if you label Capoeira as a slave dance then what do you label other things like life itself.because you will never understand it if you don't see it's more than another way to kick ass,it's a life style just like other styles like kung fu,ti kwon do and others.Thats why Anderson Silva is a great champion

  • @freewee21 And thats why Anderson Silva does Muay Thai

  • @daaskapital1 look up what else he knows, you seen him spinning around after almost every fight right?, that's not muay thai, stupid people think they know everything that's the problem.notice you're own people have you brain washed ,mma, lol have a good day buddy, you got a rock for a brain and i hope you're science save you from what's coming in the near future in 2012.

  • @freewee21 I hate MMA. I see it as a sport that has diluted all the pure martial art systems. And spinning around after every fight, haha, all he is doing is a dance... a slave dance. You dont see him spinning around like a brazilian slave while he is fighting. You mainly see him using his Muay Thai techniques. Anyway, it just proves that Capoeira is hopeless and cant be used for anything besides dancing. And what the hell are you going on about 2012, haha, whatever mate.

  • @daaskapital1 no need me speaking any more sir, i see you're view of the sport is mostly pure ignorance and probably hatefulness, for the fact that you're not in shape to do anything of close to this nature,so i understand jealousy .speaking on the end of 2012 things will change in the world and no need me going more into that you're mind is shell living a fake life of illusion and stupidly so you won't understand.i know you heard "it's so easy even a cave man can do it "well this isn't easy...

  • 14 people got knocked out by eddie gordo

  • @TheOriGaNaL1 i suppose when i said it it was at 14

  • Thanks for the great videos

  • I can't find one in Alabama.

  • i cant find a capoeria school in ohio

  • Comment removed

  • @tapoutcampion111 There is a group in Columbus called Grupo Unidade Capoeira. I have friends that train there. I dunno if that helps you at all but it was worth mentioning. :)

  • @AcerolaChloeAz dame i live in Hamilton Ohio dame but thanks man i will look into them to see if they got another location that is closer

  • @tapoutcampion111 try some local colleges or universities. sometimes they offer capoeira classes.

  • Capoeira is the bomb man ! unlike wushu shit just performances and basically useless in a fight. Capoirea is a combat art unlike shitshu(wushu)

  • Cool

  • 0:00 - 0:20 he looks like john cena .. abit lol

  • :49 his fire alarm is beeping lol. Changed the battery!

  • i have a capoeira teacher in ny brooklyn but they do not give belts. The thing they call the stuff are chords because ihavea green and orange cord but im from ny :)

  • Comment removed

  • Very nice instruction. Thanks!

  • I wish this guy would come to ny and teach me this stuff

  • super !!!!!

  • this guy's tutorials are kind of weird. all i really had to do was practice using one hand when doing a cartwheel (i had pretty much perfected my cartwheel by then) and then snap my body forward on the way up... it's a lot simpler than it looks.

  • one question..:D..did actually someone learn capoeira watching tutorials on youtube...or if not , than this is possible..???

  • @zoly16 Probably not, but it is a good way to get a better introduction to the subject to help decide if you want to put in the effort to take lessons.

  • @zoly16 It's impossible to learn capoeira watching tutorials on youtube. You can lean capoeira MOVES sure, but the only way to learn to play the game of capoeira is by jumping in a roda with another person.

  • @RenkaeOfNyght Wasnt hard for me once you got someone to practice with.... but some of these moves wouldn't recommend using in a real fight, if you haven't had practice and gotten any speed with them .-.

  • @RenkaeOfNyght I agree. Knowing the moves is just like, 20% of what real capoeira is. Real capoeira has SINGING, PLAYING OF INSTRUMENTS, THE RODA, THE ENERGY, and everything else I didn't mention. :)

  • @RenkaeOfNyght or playing as eddie gordo in tekken :D hahaha jk

  • muito bom gostei..

  • Easier said than done!

  • is it au cortado? i think it's one-handed au de frente or one-handed au reversao. i even prefer to call it au chibata if he kicks with the second leg when he does the au. CMIIW

  • @sabiorae it does look like a one handed au reverso

  • What is this move good for?

  • @Santana2163 a really fancy way to dodge a kick?

  • The dude makes it look so easy

  • @juppy1923

you are so right, even the ginga takes some time of training to do right and it all looks easy but takes a lot of stamina and flexability to do ^^

  • Good "step by step" teaching of the movement.

  • beautiful

  • @gplcvrod que saroba esta meu camarada kkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • I learned it! I'm so proud of myself! But I can't do any of those other advanced moves. I'll kill myself.

  • Thats so cooooool! lets try it! *falls and dies* choice video!

  • SPEAK UP !!!

  • these videos are really helpful ive only been practicing for 3 days this bein th thrid and theyve taught me to do a parfuso, meia lua, cart wheel, an au cortado, and a few more i dont know the names of

  • @Hollywood: Amen. One wonders what the definition would be if MM werent the current craze....

  • alejandro

  • obsesseddddd

  • the only thing that can ever really be too late to start is advanced acrobatic moves but not one sport altogether. you can even start low level gymnastics in mid twenties but you had better be flexible and well conditioned before starting :p

  • lol

    transcript?

  • i love to see capoeira but i am to old to learn it ;/ 23 ;(

  • @Eyomer 23 is not too old at all. I started at 24 and I'm doing great! I'm absolutely addicted and it's done wonders for my physical fitness. Try out a class and see for yourself! You'll be amazed at what you'll be able to do with a little dedication!

  • @SaguaroCactusMan what if a person's not able to do acrobatic spins and moves like that?

  • Comment removed

  • @SaguaroCactusMan as in i can't do a cartwheel. -.-

  • @ForzaAquila No worries! Lots of people start off not even being able to do a cartwheel. Trust me! Although the acrobatic moves make the game look beautiful, capoeira is not ALL about that. Capoeira is highly adaptable and instructors can always modify things depending on your fitness and flexibility level. You might also try capoeira angola, which is much slower and more deliberate. It's also very beautiful, and a great way to get into capoeira if you're feeling intimidated.

  • @Eyomer dude I started in 2005 it not too late.

  • @Eyomer I've done for 5 months and I am 23 yrs old, its amazing.

  • Love the instructional thing but these are hardly advanced movements. these were advanced movements 30 years ago maybe but they are basics these days.

  • Is there any possibility you guys could make this into a podcast. it would be great to have when im working out.

  • lol o meu nome é Salsicha também. Eu não sou um instrutor-ainda though.

  • Capoeira Brazil !!!

  • looks preety cool!!!!!

  • its just like a cartwheel rite?

  • @are421 Yes and no. The motion itself is like a cartwheel, but how you control the motion takes more technicality than it looks. Especially with the pivot at the end. That definitely throws off your balance when you're coming out.

  • Dude... I'm Brazilian... That's is a trash...

  • @jonathancre21 no, its not trash, its a "how to"...

  • I have had it described to me( and it looks like a spider).......A very quick and poisonous spider! After 6 years in Brasil it is one thing ( once I get over my disabilities ) That I will attempt to master!

  • You should replace your fire alarm battery..

  • @UrbanNinjaZen haha--that's his foot hitting the ground, not a fire alarm (or was that sarcasm?)

  • @UrbanNinjaZen nevermind you're right--happened right when his foot hit the ground but it is the alarm.

  • look at him DANCE yeh it kool but im taking 2 MAN POINT FROM U THO where the woman at ??

  • expert village sucks ass

  • Why would you say that expert village sucks ass?

It is there to asisst and inform people who have an interest in Capoeira and the learning of techniques to improve their game.

What have you done to help anyone else? Your vidoes are pointless and serve no one except yourself you selfish prick.

  • Comment removed

  • Love the vids :)

  • dude u did a totally diff move in da beggining from the one u did at the end..

idk if explained that cuz im also listing to music so i cnt hear u lol

  • @coCHINO691 Then what's different about it...?

  • If you want to lern capoeira from youtube, o not do it watching this guy,

  • @cedric4090

I'm learning capoeira from youtube too,how much did you learn? How much is possible to learn it from youtube?

  • @TheCreapy Capoeira is a martial art, what need to be both. Even if you learn some technics on youtube, you must pratcrice, those technics with other "players" to lean how play in a "Roda", good luck =p

  • You can't learn Capoeira from youtube or anywhere else. You can learn moves..acrobatics..yes , but don't call it Capoeira cuz it ain't capoeira, well not really. Capoeira has a bateria, o jogo, um berimbau..and above all else, a roda.

Learn Capoeira in an academia or a roda. This is Capoeira. If you reaaally can't. Then try to organize a small group..even if your all starters, and play together, involve music and get it on ;)

    Keep it up!!

  • @KayNyne13 True, true. Without the roda, berimbau, atabaque, etc..., it's just not Capoeira.

  • @KayNyne13 True, true. Without the roda, berimbau, atabaque, etc..., it's just not Capoeira.
