As a fan of the original I actually really like this movie I thought that it was faithful in the parts that it should be (Klaatu being shot in beginning, Gort looking just like gort, and just having the phrase Klaatu barada nikto) while I like how it changed certain parts like having an environmental message. I thought it was faithful to the original but still stood as its own move.

I'm pretty sure he says it right after he's shot to turn off Gort and they combined two takes he did, one in reverse and one going forward to make it sound like it was being said by an alien creature.
