    Paul

  • I want to know about your feeling when you are playing this song. My teacher teachs me that i need to think of a coup are quarreling when i play this song, but i am not sure about that after i listen to your playing. You played so soft and like there are a girl and a boy are dancing. It is amazing! Can you tell me about your feeling?:( I need to play this song in the piano examination. Please help me!;(

  • @jennyyck1997 I don't really think of anything- I just concentrate on the sound I am making.

  • Good job!!! I;m trying to learn from u!! :D

  • @leezhiyuanrocks , thanks and good luck with it!

  • @ColinMitchellMusic Thanks!

  • IVE GOT MY EXAM ON SATURDAY IM LITERALLY GOING TO FAIL THIS PIECE

  • Well played man, even I felt you could have played the whole thin at a bit higher tempo. Props for that anyway, I did this exam. Got a merit :D

  • Once again, a fabulously played piece by colin mitchell music! the only thing I would say is that although this is not a C piece where there is most room of interpretation, i would develop the lighter passages more, to make them further contrast. to get get a very light and delicate flavour into the piece. your accuracy is extraordinary, but little more articulation and and development of motifs would strengthen the musicality further :)

  • missmusica21 , yeah I agree, there is definitely room for improvement in these areas. thanks for the suggestions!

  • I always luv Clementi!!

  • yeah me too!

  • Play them as lightly as you can. And keep practising them slowly- they'll come together in time..!

  • LRAM?

  • yeah

  • @ColinMitchellMusic you can tell ;) great playing

  • Do u use pedals for tis piece?

  • a little bit, yeah

  • why are all the titles in Caps lock

  • Dennis, don't be sad -just keep practising! I have been playing a very long time! All the Best to you! -Colin

  • If I played as well as you, I would have no problem passing the Grade 8 exam! My piano exam is next week and I'm wondering how you do the trills. For bar 13, is it:

    BABABAGA (right hand)

    C B C B (left hand)?

    Thanks.

  • very good but YOU DIDNT MEMORIZE IT : o

  • a1b2cthree , that's cos I'm (virtually) sight reading it.

  • I've never heard anyone play as well as you, and your piano has a great tone! The expression is great, I wish I could play as well as you. I would give you 100% for this fantastic piece of music!!!

  • Carlm2 , you are way too kind! Thank you so much for such encouraging comments!

  • i really like the last trill too. very intense. I can't believe you didn't take the test, because they probably would have given you a medal.

  • Aw thanks Mandy! Good luck with your exam!

  • this is amazing! you have really excellent dynamics, unlike some of the videos I've seen. hope i can play this well for next week :\

  • Wishing you the best of luck with that exam, Mandy!

  • Good Luck with your exam tomorrow!

  • That piano has a beautiful tone to it, could you tell me what make of piano it is? Thanks, I'm hoping to get a Kawai in the next couple of weeks, it sounds similar to yours, just wondering if it's the same?

  • Littlemusicalscot, my piano is a Kemble

  • I think this is a classical piece, so no pedals, i think. Correct me if I am wrong. Pedals are puzzling problems

  • You are FANTASTIC!!! :D

  • hey i'm having my grade 8 piano on tues and really wanna know if you have to play tt fast. great usage pedals and fingerings. mine just cant fall into place(:

  • There is quite a wide range of tempo you can play this piece in. Good luck with it!

  • please guide me on where to use sustain..

  • Not sure, TheGrandHarmony , just wherever feels right...

  • did you use the sustain pedal at any part of the song?

  • Yes

  • I love this song! I've been wanting to play it and finally got my hands on it. I love the way you play it and I was wondering if you used any pedal?

  • Thanks, gobi1711 !

  • Oh You'll be just fine, stop worrying! Best of Luck with it!

  • this is great, really appreciate it. love how ur hands are so steady. one question, do u do half jumps for the quavers ?

  • Thanks ,Ian! What do you mean' half jumps'?

  • Colin, are you at grade 8 or above?

  • Dunno really....hovering around Grade 8 , I suppose...

  • :-) really like the waythat you play this piece. though, i made me giggle when you use a litt more force during the piece and your webcam was shaking slightly.

  • RisingSunRocks -Yeah,I like to include a comedy aspect on my vids:-)

  • you have really amazing technique... i like the way you control your fingers at such speed. Really nice to watch...

  • Thank you,chanlisan , I appreciate that!

  • wow this is amazing. do you think you can share some tips you used to perfect this song? i'm nowhere near this , and i would greatly appreciate some extra help, thanks !

  • Thankyou! I would just say practise at a really slow tempo over and over again, and then gradually increase the speed until until you've nailed it!

  • ah thank you, i've already passed this exam, but this was my weakest piece, just wondering how! thank you :)

  • xyesther , yeah, this is about the right speed. I did this one a while ago, so cant really remember what I did with the pedal!

  • Que buena musica

  • that was amazing! are there any ways or methods you can suggest of getting those trills that are like 6 to a beat, which is against the quavers in the left hand, to a sufficient tempo? if you know which ones i mean :)

  • Thanks, 24DJF The only way I know to get the trills right is to practise them really slowly at first then gradually build up the speed. Good Luck with it!

  • a;sldkjf;lksjd i have to play this in a few weeks, and my playing is NOWHERE near your standard :S -shuffles off to go and practice for a few hours- i clearly did not inherit the robot asian genes. :(

I'm learning this piece and your videos are so helpful!

I'm struggling to keep all the semiquavers even though from bar 59. Do you have any advice?!?

  • Thankyou,Hydrogenes !

  • Good Luck with it!!

  • This was so beautiful. Your hands just seem to flit across the keys.. amazing.

  • i'm doing this one too, not as fast as that yet though!

  • I'm only on grade 4, I can't believe I'm halfway towards playing so amazingly

  • @BuLeBb not all grade 8 people play this well, so being at grade 4 doesn't equal to being halfway towards playing like this. you may be more than halfway, or less than halfway, depending on your personal skill.

  • Astoundingly amazing, I'm jealous of your talent :]

  • luciandryan , Wow thanks for such kind words:-)!

  • Thank you shaynelow !

  • Hiya. Do you think it's kind of weird just pedalling in some certain bits? Thanks

  • Good Luck with it -and relax, don't worry - it is the best way!!

  • Hello, I was wondering did you use the pedal throughout the piece? Or just certain bits? Thank you

  • Pretty much all the way through

  • some serious playing there.

what makes a piece have a certain grade?

  • Thanks! Lots of factors involved in certain pieces making certain grades....

  • @jdaesaorn2012 It's not a bunch of pieces and they have a certain grade.. it's like there's 8 different tests and you play certain pieces for each grade. The criteria for making it into the said grade is based on several factors. Some of which include technicality, interpretation, dynamics, and just overall difficulty.

  • oh, kk. thanks for answering!

  • ur amazing

  • Thank you , Bonita!

  • we should be thanking you for sharing your talent!
