@iHacksorzz yes. 7-strings are tuned BEADGBE. tune down a whole step to get to ADGCFAD. on a 6-string, it's EADGBE down to DGCFAD if you go down a whole step. but if you want to go down to A, you'd have to tune down seven half-steps down to ADGCEA. this way you can play all the low notes but you won't be playing the five high notes you can play on a 7-string. and of course, you'd need thick strings to compensate for the loss of string tension. korn songs depend on the 7th string 100%.

@XxxdethhammerxxX A little more into. they started on ibanez universes. they both had a uv7pwh and munky also had a uv7bk and an s5407 with a uv7bk neck (in blind vid and ibanez 7th heaven vid over there ------->). then they went to rg7420's and rg7620's. then they got the K7's and munky usually used the prototype version (and the 1 K14 on alone i break). then they had custom RG7's in the vid for did my time. head left and munky got the apex1 (doesnt play the apex2) and custom a rg7 prestige.
@XxxdethhammerxxX im good with guitars (: and the rg7 prestige can be seen in SOME live vids and in the oildale vid. anda few times he used a custom art 7 string. and a couple times he used the buckethead signature les paul. and i just noticed that you only asked about the k7's so this whole reply was useless. well, at least you got a little guitar knowladge out of it

would it make more sense to turn off the Reverb, then the Tremolo, and then the pickup selecter, and THEN the distortion, so that you dont get all that reverb with the distortion???
@issues432 Do you know anything about guitar ? It's sad but, since Head is gone from korn, they lack a lot of power in guitar riffs. Playing guitar for 25 years doesn't mean much. I play guitar for 7 seven years and my level is way above this guy. Maybe he takes too much drugs or I don't know. I'm not hating here. I just prefer the old korn. they were a good duo with good riffs back in the days you know. I love korn.
@cdmaelstrom Head is better for me, but you can not say that Munky is not a good guitarist . I play guitar at 8 years. Korn, Metallica and other crap, easy for me. But look at one thing, what is most important. Experience!!!! Munky has a lot more experience than you and I together. I was at a concert by Korn and believe me, then you see him, then I realized that I'm not even close to Munky.

It's like the nay sayers fail to see how unique the guitarist in korn are, their songs have some truly bizarre chord arrangements, structures & just downright odd timbres.
I consider munky to be one of the best ever.. He'd be in the top 100 at least.. A self taught musician making it HUGE with a band and getting such a massive fan base? That's unheard of.. Is he still trying to learn proper music? Seems like he's making an effort to.
Here is the one question i have for this DVD which i happen to own. In my opion its not accurate and thats completely okay. Im a huge korn freak and Love pedal effects probably just as much as James Munky Shaffer. That effect in this "DEMO" is not at all the effect on the record at all. Its more of the Sound of the UV-1 Dunlop Uni-vide set at a Fast rate on the Vibe setting. Its also a Moderate Delay tempo added on the of the effect.
Maybe Munky isn't one of the best technical players in the world, but guess what, he doesn't care ! His style is what defines Munky, and Korn, and you definitely have to take into account the endurance required to play live etc. This guy has so much character, and his style proves you don't need to be playing blistering solos to gain success. Munky is an amazing guitarist !

@issues432 well someone can be famous but alot of people may think they arent too good. playing the master of puppets solo after 8 years isnt a big deal i learned the whole song including the main solo, but not the first solo, in 2 days with like 5 years of guitar playing.

I consider munky to be one of the best ever.. He'd be in the top 100 at least.. A self taught musician making it HUGE with a band and getting such a massive fan base? That's unheard of.. Is he still trying to learn proper music? Seems like he's making an effort to.

Here is the one question i have for this DVD which i happen to own. In my opion its not accurate and thats completely okay. Im a huge korn freak and Love pedal effects probably just as much as James Munky Shaffer. That effect in this "DEMO" is not at all the effect on the record at all. Its more of the Sound of the UV-1 Dunlop Uni-vide set at a Fast rate on the Vibe setting. Its also a Moderate Delay tempo added on the of the effect.

Maybe Munky isn't one of the best technical players in the world, but guess what, he doesn't care ! His style is what defines Munky, and Korn, and you definitely have to take into account the endurance required to play live etc. This guy has so much character, and his style proves you don't need to be playing blistering solos to gain success. Munky is an amazing guitarist !

@issues432 well someone can be famous but alot of people may think they arent too good. playing the master of puppets solo after 8 years isnt a big deal i learned the whole song including the main solo, but not the first solo, in 2 days with like 5 years of guitar playing.
