Honestly I think this is one of the best versions I've seen of the legend on film. Although there are a number of variations, I like that this included the jacket. One version tells that the young man finds the jacket on her grave the next morning. Another variation I love was that Senator Proxmire once picked up the hitchhiker and of course squelched the rumor. I've always wondered why him of all Senators?
@HenryPacker I was actually going to shoot the credit sequence at a graveyard with the jacket, but budgeting and scheduling stood in our way. But thanks man, thanks a lot actually. Your comment means a lot. Be sure to check out some of the other videos we have on this channel. They're not the same genre, but they are personal and original. Thanks again Henry.
I like this film but how come she wasn't able to touch the car but she was able to take his jacket and leave her glasses in the car? That was weird but overall, this was pretty good
Well, this is another lame attempt at telling stories of the paranormal. Number one, when people tell of picking up vanishing hitchhikers, the people they pick up don't blab that much. They tell the driver where they're going and sometimes thier name, then they say "thats where I died" or "thats where the accident was" Number two, poor, poor acting. I would rather sit and watch 4 straight hours of veggie tales than another 2 minutes of this shit, and number 3. Spirits don't feel the cold.
Holy crap. i watched this at 2 am in my room alone had one headphone behind my left ear and the other headphone on my right ear and when i heard them talk it was out of the left phone and i seriously thought people were talking behind me when i know i am the only one in the room. needless to say i got freeked out to no end and was a bit shaken up. although a few moments later i noticed that they were talking out of my left headphone. i felt like an idiot after that. ah well gave me a good scare.
yeah i seen it in a book too but in mine he needed his jacket back so he asked where she was and she said a street where the graveyard was and then on the top of her grave was her jackett
I really like how you gave the story more depth and even gave the spirit a name!

Great story and good film. The only problem is the title sort of tells the story, so you kind of know what is going to happen.

@Jaspurr28 that's the original name of the legend "the vanishing hitchhiker", i don't think he could've changed it.

good independent movie but if betsy was that young and only dead 10 years her mother was kinda old
itzamia 4 years ago 2
it depends the mother may have been 40 when she gave birth which would explain her age all those years later
