  • so tone wise (other than that tap thingy) they sound the same? the DF-2 alone is enough in the rig as a distortion pedal? or do u keep both? i have both, trying to figure out which to keep...

  • Are these Made in Japan or Taiwan?

  • @PieceofMindmusic

    DF-2 - made in Japan

    DS-1 - made in Taiwan

  • @itsguitarmanrourke - the DF-2 is just slightly fuzzier. Barely noticeable.

  • The DF-7 is better in every single way.

  • almeno per il video poteva mettersi le scarpe...-.-"

  • does the pedal still feedback at the cleanest setting?

  • @MrCandleBurner - yes, but it's quieter.

  • sounds like a boss ds-1 AND MORE so why not just get the DF-2

  • DF-2 hands down. Love that distortion. I got mine for $15 dollars off a stoner back in '94. It's beat to hell, but I baby it. My favorite stomp box distortion so far.

  • question, can a pedal lose its tone over time? because my ds1 used 2 sound great

but now its lost alot of its punch :( how can i fix this besides buying a new one

  • @utubeThatOneBand check the battery, clean under the pots, check that the in/outs aren´t loose, check your cables and power supplies, and if it still sounds strange take it to boss. Distortion pedals never loose their tone with use, but with malfunctions.

  • @utubeThatOneBand

maybe something is wrong with it's connection (input or output)... or if you use it thru a tube amp, change your tubes? Just throwing out suggestions

  • Nice socks man :)

  • I think I like the DS-1 better

  • i have both - i like the DF2 more,

it's got a slightly fuzzier distortion and a little more natural low end, plus the neato feedback thing is fun to use/experiment with on occasion. andthe fact that i got it for free is also a plus.

dont get me wrong though the DS1 is a solid good sounding pedal, fur shore.

  • Take those socks off, spice things up a bit ;-)

  • PUT SOME SHOES ON YOU MEFF ! - NO ONE WANTS TO SEE YOUR SOCKS ;(

  • nice socks

  • Oh god... They sound virtually the same. I had a DF-2, and I was very proud of it until an economic plan of the always ROGUE and DASTARDLY Braziliain government forced me to sell my whole equipment.

If DF-2 were a person I would say: "I missed you and and it´s very good to hear from you again." : )

  • @Sylar962 F***ing Government, why'd they force you to sell it?

  • I was living of savings, so the Government, with the reason of beating inflation, confiscated almost all money from saving bank accounts.

The plan was keeping the money away for 1 year. So I got BROKE. I was unemployed, so I had to sell things to stand the 1 year period until they gave my cash back. I had even to sell real estate.

When they began to return my money, they didn´t apply the correct interest rate, so I got poorer than 1 year prior...

  • @Sylar962 Sos argentino? Porque tu historia me recordo al corralito...

    You are from Argentina?

  • After that dark period, I got a steady job, but my earnings weren´t enough to buy all those things again. I had only some rehearsals and jam sessions for the kicks, with borrowed gear. Only this year I got money enough to buy new instruments. They are not as good, but I can take some nice sounds from them.

  • @Sylar962 - that was so sweeet :O

  • mmm....when I bought this pedal when it first came onto market, I thought wow!...Now I think nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng! (sorry, left the foot on the pedal)

    Still lovin' the DS-1 though!...Rock-On!

  • Nice sound man, although a tube amp would be sweet (expensive though)

How do you like the guitar, and have you changed the pickups in them at all? I'm thinking about trading one of my trumpets for this at a pawn shop.

  • @thedevilisbad If you mean my Pacifica am very happy with it. All picup are original. Initially, I thought about changing those from American Fender I'm stopped original and I'm proud of them ;)

  • I hate to leave anything negative, but crikey, that Valvestate sound is too plinky & thin to be improved much even with these (very good) BOSS boxes. You should save up for a low wattage tube amp, then you will really hear these babies sing! the DF needs something meaty to let the oscillation take on a "real" tonal character. I enjoyed the Demo tho, just not the 8040 (I used to have one, so I am not being purist or anything).

  • @witser001 i agree about the meatier sounding amp being a must...i plat mine thru a '68 Sunn cab with a 15 inch JBL speaker in it...MEATY ENOUGH FOR YA?

  • i own both of these, and from what ive noticed the Df2 has a slightly warmer fuzzier distortion than the ds1.

  • nice demonstration mate.. gotta have that feedbacker !!
