Holy shit. You are the legendary 88hawaii? Man i thought i recognized your voice. And i was thinking "Hrrmm that spencerian guy is as cool as 88hawaii" who would have known :P
I was going to do this same exact mod to my helmet, but I found out about Creative's Vado HD. I now have the 2nd gen, mounted inside the chin bar strapped with some velcro. The screen barely touches my nose unlike a lot of other motovloggers. I had to add velcro spacers for the correct angle lens because of the lean angle of sportbikes. It works perfect.
CornStoveIowa - no, I don't sell this helmet or modifications like it. I just like to share videos with the community of riders and curious people that wonder how I did it. As you may find, I'm an encourager, so part of my mission is to take the mystery/fear out of moto-vlogging, so others in the community can try it.
leomaster101 - You know what? I made that glasses mount. I never got around to making a video about it, so I'll make one in the future. A lot of people have been emailing me about this, so I'll definitely remember to make one in the future.
What is the setup you have for glasses? I wear glasses and have to take off to get full face helmet on and real pain to put glasses back on in the helmet.
schuberths are really nice lids, although not that popular in the UK, i use a S1Pro, am on my second now, only gripe i have is that commset ear speakers don't attach easily to the lining like with other lids, soooo quiet though, i use a bullet cam myself but great vid and arrangement, i've seen some vids like this where the vlogger can barely see over the camera, your setup lokks really good :)
Once again, you have proven why your videos are so popular! Seriously, we need you in NASA or working on alternative energy sources! Such innovation!!
Store water high above the ground in a container. Put it above a series of generators and as the water falls it will generate power. Pool the fallen water, make a series of small tubes rising back to the container and the water will rise back into the container through capillary action and then fall all over again. Problem solved.
I need to pay more attention. While watching the video I kept telling myself I know I've seen this one before even though its new. Then I looked at the file date. It's been a long day.
I did that mod with my old helmet, but i had it so you push the camera all the way down, I drilled a big hole in the chinbar and covered with see through perspex.... but eventually I thought it has weakened the strength and binned the helmet.
I have been thinking about how my new helmet would fit the camera. Some people always assume I am staring at the ground. It's the camera angle! I will probably be playing around with this the most. Gave me some Ideas.
itsreload - yeah, when I was riding the Suzuki DRZ400, I was upright, so it looked like my head was pointing down. I guess it depends on the bike position you have. My helmet is mostly for sportbikes with the leaning forward position.
Checkout the youtube groups called v570. You can access the group from my page, and in the top middle, you can see a link that says GROUPS. There are others that have posted their helmet modification videos up.
Wow, Rob that\s a great modification, I wish I did that to mine, I can see fine and dandy with my helmet but it's pointing in the wrong direction. (To the ground).
man why doesn't kodak make the 570 or 705 anymore? i went to bestbuy a while back and saw they didn't have any there. i thought they sold tons of those. anyway, nice new setup!

You could always use a little Velcro on the bottom to secure it.
Very well done!
Keeps the camera lens clean also!
Very innovative!

nice mod to you helmet what did you use to cut the foam
67kneil 2 years ago
67kneil - I just used a simple X-acto blade to slice into the foam. It cut like butter.

very cool setup
i need to do something like this for mine
im getting too much shakiness with my camera
6EvuK9 2 years ago
6evuk9 - mounting the camera on the bike usually gets a lot of shakiness, especially on bumpy roads. The neck dampens a lot of loading.
Spencerian 2 years ago
havedogwillscooter - the glasses is home made. I made it out of a bicycle spoke and cannibalized prescription glasses.

DashTube1 2 years ago
DashTube1 - yeah, you have to tip the camera so that it's level and you don't get too much ground or too much sky.

Thats also what I did. I got sick of the blind spot.
