About once every 6 months or so I decide I really want/need a Juno 6/60/106 ........... then for some reason I never bother! Great synths though. I'll get one sooner or later I'm sure ........ I think!
Is this version of juno multy timberal like the later D series? I love late blossoming sound of the string like instruments. Or I guess you would call them "warm pads". bells are cool too. The Japanese style percussion is bad ass.
Awesome!! Worked with a keyboardplayer a bunch of years ago that although he had cool newer stuff wouldn't go onstage without his Juno 60. New stuff happened every gig....fantastic machine, one of my favourites.
its really to bad that the recording has really low quality sound, cause the instrument and the way the musician is playing it sound really wonderful, and it deserves to be higher quality.
Ah, the memories. That was the first synth I got my mits on in the 7th grade. I got the bug. Took me a few summers and many mowed lawns until I could buy my first synth. Bought a DW-6000.
VH "Jump" definitely not square. It's 2 sawtooth waves from Oberheim OBX-a. But you can get pretty close, even with the single osc Juno60. The onboard chorus makes somwhat up for the missing oscillator. Plus the Juno 60 has a subosc. Programmed right with the right mix of PWM, Saw and Subosc plus chorus you should definitely be able to come darn close.
Apparently the juno 6 has a hardware envelope that can be alot faster than the 60's for more aggressive sounds.. I've been researching the 2 two for awhile and I'm not sure which one I want more...
Hey, I've been looking into getting a Roland lately, and Im stuck between getting a Juno-60 or a JP8000. My buddy has a Juno-106 that i have played, and it looks and sounds similar to the -60 and im used to it....but the JP8000s look and sound great as well.
I have both the JP-8000 and a Juno 60. While the 60 may sound similar to a 106 sometimes, its a much fatter than the 106. The quality of construction of the 60 is also much better than the 106. The JP-8000 is much better and versitile than the 106. The JP8000 sounds a lot more digital and a little thinner than the Juno 60, but it has a great high quality sound and can make many more different types of sound than any Juno. Buy the JP8000/8080 then save for a Juno 60. thats my advice!
hi guys i am looking for a synth that has similar sounds as the roland juno 60. What synth shall i go for? i have been looking at: juno D, novation x and roland sh201. Any advice would be great. Many thanks.
yeah, most of the stuff roland makes today is not the real deal.affordible and crappy synths that should 'recreate' old gear as they say.but its not even close.roland is not what it used to be.they can't even make decent 303 emulation.shame
i think i have to trademy juno106 for a juno60.. its what i really wanted.. the sound is def differnt alot of people thing they are the same but i dont think so..
that is actually my one and only favorite synth. I had a Juno 6 and decided that the Juno 60 is quite possibly the coolest sounding synth on the planet. drooooollll
classic - i always wanted one of these synths back in the 80s - they just make em like they used to - give me a synth with real buttons and dials any day. great post and blast from the past - i spent many a saturday day in synth shops just playing these synths.
try a SIEL Opera 6 and you wil change your vue on the Juno yes is a good instrument but it's becoming more liek a status symbol really... Opera 6 can be found for half the proce and sound like a prophet in some way even better, well that if you can find one because SIEL got out of the market in 1986...Yes I have one since 1983 who i will never swell for any amount in fact I just spent 300Euro to have it repaired.
Some very awesome sounds. I have a Juno-6 myself. I particularly love patch 52, 53, and 56 you use. I'm such a fan of spacey sounds. It's always so fun to just sit down and play with a synth like this.
I used to have Juno6 which is more or less Juno60 without memory facilities.I got 106 after getting rid of the Juno6.6 was able to create this gorgeous spacy pad sounds that I couldn't recreate on 106 no matter how I tried.I really missed the sounds of these early Juno models.I love to get my hands on Juno60,if I ever had a chance to come across ones in a good conditions internaly and also cosmeticaly. Thanks for this simple but helpful great demo.
Those presets are SO Roland. I've never directly heard a Juno-60, but it's nice to know that it is reminiscent of both the Juno-106 and to some degree the JX3P! Anyway, thanks for making the video and posting it on Analog Synthesizers!
I love the placebo effect. The 'Music Thing' blogspot has a cool test where listeners tried to identify synths (and if they were analog or digital) based on a listening test. Most couldn't even tell the difference between analog and digital, let alone a model of synth. FYI - If Juno 106 guys want, they can just bypass the envelope, basically rendering it a Juno 60 with MIDI. Anyways, they both are cool synths IMO.
Hit the gate switch on the VCA. A lot of synth freaks become obsessed with the gear, but very few even know how to use it. Being a great musician on any keyboard, whether it is a Casio, DX7, or MemoryMoog will overshadow any gearwhore's evaluations of synths, and music in general.
But it's a nice synth ;)

you just feel like your floating on sine waves...
the Atmoshpere this synth can create is beyond the depths of imagination.

Raycer14 3 years ago 2
The Juno 6 and 60 are 100% identical, except that the 60 has memory storage. You should theoretically be able to recreate these sounds in the vid.
GuckNetSoBleeed 2 years ago
Oh come on now.. That is just NOT true... don't forget about the HPF.
reginaldbowlsiii 2 years ago
???
What about the HPF?
Both, the 6 and 60 have a High Pass Filter.
GuckNetSoBleeed 2 years ago
but the 60's high pass filter is incremental because it's digitally controlled where as the 6 is directly controlled..
reginaldbowlsiii 2 years ago
Oh wow, never knew the 6 has "stepless" control of the HPF. That's a difference for sure. Thanks for the enlightment. =)

or a juno 106 then you'll have Mid but no Arp. Don't get one of those crap marketing exercises. the juno d is not a juno.
