I remember this movie from the 80's, but didn't actually see it til 93. I'll never forget watching it with my brothers. It was a boring Sunday afternoon so we turned on the tube and it was playing. At first we thought it was gonna be a dud, but we really enjoyed it; esp. the guy disguised as a Native American.

Pure Hollywood in 1984. This movie is entirely a De Palma (and Donaggio) inspired dedication to the city of Los Angeles. I do love the superb photography of this work. A certain kind of dark coke glam, typical of the 1980s', wraps and warms up the yet well developed De Palma's irony, throughout the cheap (B movies) "Industry", human phobia, thrilling and psycho-horror.

Body Double (1984), probably because belongs to electronic instruments era, is still near as style to the curring sensbility of 2010.

The most of singers of his generation from more than 40 years still sings the same songs and never renovated. Even At 30-35 years old, in the 70ies, their verve artistical was disappeared and the were like grannies unable to change.

This is a great song. Pino Donaggio was a composer and singer of tradictional songs of the 60ies in Italy. Listening a such composition for american films of the 80ies is very surprising. He, as a fenix, reborn into a kind of music totally different that constitues a high jump. A rare demonstration of flexibility for tradictional italian singers.

@gvt2u I am glad to hear I am not the only 'Dressed To Kill Soundtrack' addict! Less effusive comments, probably because the soundtrack is more available whereas the Body Double soundtrack has been unavailable for almost 25 years which gave it a kind of 'sacred' status, I guess.

By the way, please listen to Donaggio's music of "Don't look now" Wonderful!! He made such impressive soundtracks - I have the vinyls (really one of the best with Morricone)

Maybe every french young boy would have dreamed to follow Deborah Shelton into Rodeo Drive Collection....

I have Body Double on original VHS. I watch it every few months and still enjoy it. After all these years the picture quality is still great. I should look for it in DVD. Deborah Shelton and Melanie Griffith were so hot.

Deborah Shelton was mesmerizing in this movie! The scene of her driving the Mercedes into the Rodeo Collection (as it was known then) and how she sauntered into the lingerie store with those shades on is classic. She is the HOTTEST woman, and only spoke a few lines in that film. Everybody who knows of "Body Double" makes reference to her remarkable beauty. Nobody can compete to this day....yes I am obsessed with her..and judging by the responses, I am not the only one!!

Nope, that one was a cheap re-make. This one is THE ORIGINAL, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to have since BD OST was never released -as it says, this is a bootleg version.

I have a 20 track bootleg version of the soundtrack on mp3 and the "Body Double" track sounds very much like the movie version running at 3:28, and it doesn't sound like no dvd rip?? I've heard a version of it that is slower, that must be the re-make.

This isn't a DVD-rip, it's a bootleg track. There have only been 2 releases of the soundtrack, the official album version that was remade and is inferior to the bootleg version, which is what I have.
