@MetroBeach40 bonjour, j'ai vu un comparatif entre la stagg et la palatino VE500.Il les essaie toute les deux avec un archet, et à mon avis de débutant, ça ne sonne pas mal du tout.

Contrabajo STAGG o como tirar el dinero.

Compre este contrabajo en tienda Klavier y al día siguiente se rompió una clavija afinando. En la tienda se negaron a pedir uno nuevo y el comercial de Stagg para toda España aseguró que en 3 días estaria arreglado. Pasadas 2 semanas seguía roto. Pedi la devolución del dinero y se negaron. Stagg tiene un servicio MALO E INFORMAL, aviso por si sirve a alguien. La solución ha sido cambiar de marca y pagar uno más caro

@akitoytube I've had no problems in six months with my Stagg, but I do reckon the tuners are under a lot of tension. You have to be really careful there.

Dommage - j`ai deja une contrabasse (nulle nulle nulle) et ce p`tit jouet, c`est moins cher qu`acheter une systeme piezo et preampli!

@luimaime : je me suis renseigné vite fait, il semblerait que ca ne sonne pas vraiment bien (pas prévu pour), cette basse à l'archet.

Un archet, ca coute effectivement cher... et c'est un univers assez différent, parole de bassiste ET contrebassiste *classique* ;)

The sound is direct from bass in a mixing console with eq on 0 (zero/middle) and the subbass button on the EDB at half (1/2)and with Thomastik strings.

Hello from South America. Finally My Brand New Stagg Edb arrived 2 months a go. My friend dissassembled it and traveled by airplane from London. It sound great and look terrific !!! According to your answer it was possible to do that. Thanks. I put the 2 parts together again using a screw driver, it was easy.

Great video - presumably by Stagg themselves. Resulted in me taking the plunge and buying one. Picked it up today - very pleased and an easier transition than I expected from my fretless Warwick.

The black metal brackets are a total pig to insert, however.

And there are no instructions to speak of. But £312 (for mine) was a complete bargain.

I agree with you:the way we play is the most important thing!.like you,I'm a bass player & I play upright bass since only 2 months.On the whole,I think that this upright bass is very easy and sound pretty cool.(but I never play on acoustic upright bass).

I've never tried the sansamp, but usualy the amp & speaker simulations sound good.(I tried the bass V-amp-behringer & it sounds good,have stereo fx & it's very cheap ).

Bonjour, sorry but my french is very poor, typical of us english. Really nice playing, great tone. Its very true that tone is 80% from the fingers. I play electric bass myself, would my knowledge/skill on electric be transferable to the upright bass? Are you generally pleased with the stagg upright? also how do rate Sansamp,they get a lot of coverage in bass magazines but i have never tried one.

Je n'ai pas eu ce problème de cordes cassées mais les cordes d'origine n'ont pas l'air de bonne qualité (le mi manque de grave par rapport aux autres par exemple).

Par contre ton avis sur cet instrument m'interesse, tu as surement plus d'experience que moi et tu connais la contrebasse en acoustique.Que penses tu de ce modèle,manche ,hauteur des cordes,etc...
