  • J Dilla !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what's that sample on the chorus? which song? please!

  • @mrmostarr Jodi Mitchell - Big Yellow Taxi

  • Dilla most deffinately did this, that's why he produced a second called; Jay Dee's 'revenge' so it was unmistakenly his this time. fact.

  • Great job by J Dilla. It was obvious Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis recreated one of his demo beats. Im sure the contract stated, they were allowed to do this in exchange for a large sum of money. Thats life. Peace.

  • MJ never made a video as classy or artistic as this one. This is STYLE.

  • I think this is the finest moment of her!!!

  • 90s jams. I remember when this came out. That was years ago. Makes me feel old. LOL

  • i love janet jackson

  • never get tired of this video. My sistrin should do a remake on it.

  • RIP J DILLA

  • Wow, last I heard this was in the 90's. Has it really been that long??

  • Great song, great collaboration! She does sound a bit like female Mike.

  • She sings like Michael.

  • I have been looking for this song since its released date, I remember having it on a CD and went through all the ones I had but could not find and today I heard it on the radio!

    Repeat x10

  • INCREIBLE VIDEO POCO VALORADO, IMEGENES PERFECTAS.

  • Great song...great video!

  • @MyJunior1975 just because he never worked with Prince, Chaka, Mariah or Mary J does not make him a packback producer....he certainly never worked with the like of the Spice Girls, Usher, Jordan Knight or Gwen Stefani....which really says it all! Dilla did what he did because it was what he loved! Hip Hop was his life and he stayed true to it, which is in itself, considering the state of the music industry, caused by similar acts, there not artist, noted above, is a testament in itself!

  • @scottmangz Whether you like it or not, Dilla is, was and will always be referred to as a backpack producer. That's how he is seen by many and will continue to be seen that way- at least by those who are my age and really listen to music. As I said to TheSinghFIRE earlier, look up his discography and tell me that I'm lying. Feel free to stan for a dead man all you wish, but the fact remains that he is, indeed, a backpack producer.

  • @MyJunior1975 Busta Ryhmes, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Common, The Roots, D'Angelo, Brand New Heavies, Erykah Badu, GURU, Jazzy Jeff, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Daft Punk, Ghost Face, Raekwon, MF Doom...hardly say any of the above are 'backpack rappers', would you? Dilla was and still is one of the most influential hip hop produces to have every lived and a producer he was.

  • @scottmangz One: Daft Punk are not backpack rappers- much less rappers, period!!!

Two: Erykah Badu and Brand New Heavies are not hip hop, they are in the category of R&B/neo-soul.

Three: He was NOT influential in his life, much less his death. I was around listening to his music in that era and I can tell you that no one was really checking for him like that outside of backpackers- that is a fact!!!

  • D'you know anything about that?

  • god i love the bass line

  • what a hot song! really rhythmic.

  • Q-tip and jdilla on the beat! ripped off in the credits

  • @sacredgeometry10

    murder combination

  • anybody know the name of the beanie man on this beat

  • janet jackson is the best singer that i love her song keep in the mood and keep me going every day i just cant stop it

  • q-tip killed it

  • looving the feeling this gives me..

  • Dilla = the best

  • this song hits on so many levels.....

  • DILLA!

  • 90s forever.

  • From 1997-2006, he had numerous chances to produce evidence and has not done so. His mother Maureen Yancey is the executor of his estate, and even she has come forth with everything but that one single piece of information. Again, I state, Jam & Lewis never let anyone outside of their camp work on a song in their studio in Minnesota- where "Got Til It's Gone" was recorded and mixed. Do you really expect anyone to believe Dilla was at Flyte Tyme Studios when this song was made?

  • what is the reason for the two little boys dancing together?

  • still love this song for that SICK beat!!!

  • Only dicks make videos non embeddable.

  • cotton club ?

  • Great!

  • I love all of the BLACK BEAUTY In this video !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Poetic Justice :')

  • i dont get it why does four people not like this song. it has a great beat.........

  • The best music video ever!!!

  • I swear this has to be one of my favorite videos. All my people and their beauty. The moments captured, who ever directed this video did one hell of a job. I have to find that Albino's guys glasses, those are dope. Much love to all my people & anybody reading this. Be proud of who you are because The Evolution is near! Peace

  • this is one of the best music videos ever. this is a true classic.

  • HIP HOP IS A CULTURE MEANING ITS FOR ALL ETHNICITY. AS LONG AS UR GOOD AT IT IT DONT MATTER WHAT COLOR U ARE.

  • @paulandj so who is that white boy you are talking about that's supposed to go through a hip hop phase? or do you mean the white girl shown in the beginning which the song was inspired by?

  • @rx7here its called sampling not being inspired by.

  • @paulandj yet another pointless youtube discussion

  • @paulandj i dont see how this answers my question but whatever

  • this is not dilla song beat he did the remix and i like dilla music

  • @karockjames this is a dilla beat, he never got credited. it was like that pete rock story all over again.

  • Who is Dilla?

  • all dillaheads should instantly recognize this shiat

    its dilla and thats that

  • Dilla didn't produced this song btw, he produced the remix.

  • @UltraKid808 True, and I think this is one that is hard to better, even though Q-Tip features, Dilla has no creative input into this version of this great song. Probably my favourite Janet track by a whisper, pump her boo, pump her :-))

  • No goddamn auto-tune. Jesus she has a nice voice.

  • DILLA...DILLA...DILLA...BEATS...BEATS...BEATS...

  • @nerd213 Uh Uh, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis and whilst Dilla is the greatest hip hop producer ever to have lived in my opinion, he did not have any input on this version of the track. Peace.

  • @micljnes who told u? do your reaearch pls. peace

  • @TheJeff2k I'm not even going to lower myself to disrespecting you, trying to mimic my use of language, so for future reference if you feel the need to 'share' knowledge, then try to remember there is a respectful way to do it, and until today, though I know all of the artists associated with that collective and pretty much most of the songs that have been influenced by that collective, I was not aware that they were a collective.

  • @TheJeff2k Additionally, whilst you may know every player in the premier league, it doesn't make you a professional footballer, and whilst I know very few players in the premiership i more than capable of playing in that division.

  • @micljnes Actually J dilla did produce this version.

  • Damn I forgot about this song

  • Xebonyeyezx I agree

  • Thumbs up si c'est grâce a Hugo tout seul que tu regarde cette vidéo.

  • this video is such a wonderful depiction of how BEAUTIFUL BLACK people are, like James Brown once said...SAY IT LOUD, I'M BLACK AND I'M PROUD, it's just sad we don't see videos like this nowadays

  • @scwv1 AMEN.

  • i just love the video!!!!!! Beaucoup d'emotions ressenties a travers ce clip.

  • DILLLLLLLLLLLLA

  • my favorite janet video..luv q-tip!!

  • my first time i saw this video i think i was younger than 10 so i didn't know the meaning of the video. Now i see the apartheid references in it. Love this song and video.

  • ohhhh damn........amazing video....amazing song.......amazing performances....!

  • favorite!

  • to me It`s one of the greatest videos Ever made... it`s sad but so captivating, beautiful

  • great singer

  • Still relevant and feels as good as the first time I heard it.

  • i miss the gold old days 90s

  • Love this Flick and Joni Mitchell. and Yes Joni Mitchell Never Lied.. I am of this generation of Joni, when she first started, went to wood stock myself, Upstetting my Parents greatly.. The histrionics are amazing of her life( Joni's). Thank you for post, Blessings to all who read. R.I.P. Michael Jackson<3 U 4 ever and a day

  • All this time I did not realize this video was referencing aparthied!

  • Love this song...so relaxing....this song shows pure natural African beauty. Their skin such so beautiful..

  • In reference to this Janet Jackson video, I have to wonder about two things:

One: Why are Dilla fans- at least the ones under 30- insist that he had something to do with this song, when even Q-Tip himself clearly stated on numerous occasions in the past ten years that he was not involved in any way?

Also, is it just me or a lot of Dilla fans didn't give two shits about him when he was alive, and now since his death, they will attach his name to anything- even without reading the credits first?

  • @MyJunior1975 well jay dee said differently, he was a much more believable person compared to q-tip, trust me.

  • @TheSinghFIRE

One: If he really produced the song, why didn't he sue Jam & Lewis for production credits?

Two: Isn't it odd that Rockwilder, Kanye West and Jermaine Dupri got co-production credits on Janet Jackson albums, probably because they were there?

Three: This song, like every other Janet song was recorded and mixed in Minnesota- home of Flyte Tyme Sudios, while most of Dilla's stuff is in Studio A in Michigan.

Four: Dilla never really did R&B, outside of Soulquarian stuff.

  • @MyJunior1975 why didn't Pete Rock sue Puffy for Juicy? Jay Dee was a 'lab rat', he was a throwback of the old days, if things didn't go his way he would just get on with it. he wasn't like you, music came before money. 1996-1999 Dilla was part of the Ummah in that time, so it it was obviously he relocated for the timebeing. The soulquarian catalogue is reasonably big, he did songs like this- most notably the stuff he did with Erykah, D'Angelo and Bilal. I'd rather take Dilla's word than yours.

  • @TheSinghFIRE Did you take his word when he was alive...and did you listen to him when he was alive? Probably not. I don't recall any Dilla fans saying a word about what he did or didn't do until AFTER he died. So anyone who's a Dilla fan after 2006 has an opinion that holds no weight in my eyes.

Secondly, Pete Rock turned in the original version of "Juicy" and all Puffy and the Trackmasters did was recreate the song from scratch- in the same way A Tribe Called Quest did another Pete Rock beat

  • @TheSinghFIRE Also, another thing. Here's another clue to tell you that he had nothing to do with the song. Being that the song was recorded and mixed at Jam & Lewis' Flyte Tyme Studios, when have you ever known Jimmy & Terry to let someone outside of their production or artist collective work in their studio to produce a song? At best, Dilla is a backpack beatmaker, not a hitmaking producer. His discography proves this.

  • @MyJunior1975 thats pretty disregarding calling him a backpack beatmaker, dude was a producer. he played alot of instruments. im not gonna lie, i heard of Dilla back in the time of Finding Forever came out, i was like 13. but i remember hearing dilla joints without me knowing about. do you believe everything you read, dilla said himself in the interview, the whole session was him and ali shaheed muhammed. q-tip joined abit later. whatever you say, imma believe that jay dee did this.

  • @TheSinghFIRE It's not disregarding at all, it's a fact if you look at his discography, that says it all. 97% of the beats he made were primarily for backpack rappers. I've been up on him since 1995, and I can count on one hand how many famous people he did tracks for. I saw the interview where he claimed production duties. Anyone can claim something, but if he hasn't produced one document or paperwork showing that he was actually there during the creative process, why should I believe him?

  • J. Dillas finest :-)

  • This is a crazy cut

  • The video is based on south africans during the oppression... im south african and i love what they did with it

  • DILLA. Didn't give The Ummah credit and Jay Dee came back with the Revenge Mix. Only Dilla can outdo Dilla. RIP. G.O.A.T.

  • @herbescarce Or post colonial, the 60's 70's saw a wave of revolutions across the continent of Africa. Just as it was happening in the Americas in the 50s, 60s.
