People that think F1 is not safe at all are the dumbest people! Am not a fan of Indy cars but tracking 220mph round a corner is stupid, and NASCAR is just another waste of a life 300 laps in a oval, F1 cockpits are made from the strongest carbon fibre in the planet! And the engineers are the best in the world, a F1 pit stop takes around 3 seconds, a NASCAR pit stop takes Around half a minute

@TheWestDon actually an average nascar pitstop takes roughly 15 seconds and stock cars are harder to drive, you can't just expect to whip one around a corner like an indy or an F1 car, and if NASCAR is so boring, then why do millions of people in america and around the world watch it every sunday? and i'd still feel safer in a car that has a roof!

@deathrattle420 you do realize that f1 top out at 18000rpm, and if you were to put one against the other on a circuit with left and right handed turns the f1 car you beet the stock car. also F1 is a wold wide sport taking part in 19 different countries in this year only.

@Thespyykker of course an f-1 car would out drive a stock car on any given track because f-1 cars are built to turn and have all that technology on board. That's the point of nascar. Making that big clunky thing handle a turn at high speed takes some real skill and an understanding of the geometry of the chassis in order to make that lead weight be able to turn. F1 is basically a souped up glorified gokart that is BUILT to fly around turns. Stock cars are meant to be a challenge to handle.

@alpinemanlover The top of the car is curved and the bottom is relatively flat. The cars generate downforce when air hits the nose and the spoiler while facing FORWARDS, so when you take away the downforce at near 200mph (150+) you essentially have an airplane wing. An import with a wing does the same thing at the same speeds.
