I think Desmond tells his girlfriend he is going to the island when he has a flashback/timetravel and tells her to setup some kind of electromagnetic thingy to find the island when he turns the key.
they didnt kill off jack or locke. jack is definitely not dying - the others said they wouldnt hurt them, and they never shwed what happened to locke or echo.

I'm Portuguese. They are definitely *trying* to speak Portuguese with Brazilian accentuation. However I believe that neither of them are native speakers since they don't do it correctly. When the second says: "Eles vão *a* matar a gente" (They are going to kill us), he should be saying "Eles vão matar a gente". The way he said it hints of Castilian Spanish - where one would say "...van *a* matarnos."
The first time I saw him I thought he's a jack's clon! Or his brother, because at cast appears the actor Len Cordova as "Man #1", and he's pretty similar!

Very interesting idea.
I think you may be on to something, and now that I look again, he does look like Jack.
That does go with the whole twin / brother conspiracy that has been floating around there.
Any other ideas out there?
