Thats the joys of Musical films, Broadway has a stage and you add on to it with your imagination, they can't do much more than that. With a movie you can see everything they wanted to do. And the kids were better singers in the 82 version lol

Well this version is certainly.. Different. It's really...Bright.

It's not bad, but the 80s musical was more gritty and 1930s. This is still great though; can't go bad with Little Orphan Annie.

I think the new version was a bit too clean and perfect and politically correct, unlike the almost disturbing grittiness and simplicity of the original that made you feel like you were peering into the real world of Annie, instead of just watching a musical about orphans. Either way, I still love this song :)

someone commented on here that in the 1982 version that they cleaned the entire house during the song. because of them i looked up the movie on youtube and watched the whole thing. clearly that movie was better because unlike this one, it wasn't a tv movie. it was big budget and the musical scenes made sure you knew. wow, i always wondered what annie could be like if you took it to the tenth level and now i know. thanks.
