  • hate to break it to ya but

    1. parallel not perpendicular

    2. you want to release the Frisbee before your arm is at full extension, where your waist is

3.you want to throw it flat or slightly upwards or downwards, either way it flattens out

  • Please don't throw the way he teaches. When you throw with the frisbee parallel to the ground it will turn over. You want to point the frisbee at the ground when you flick it so it will even out.

  • parallel you fuck

  • I came here through google trying to, as a translator, find the meaning of "Flick". Instead, I learned how to throw Frisbees to the ground.

  • SO MUCH STEPPING AROUND!!!!

  • u clean 4 dat

  • parallel dumbass

  • youtube gets stranger and stranger every second of every day

  • check out spinnerdisk on youtube. finally available for sale.

  • It's understandable if he is a China. But he is not =.=

  • wow everyone the joke is over. It's no longer funny when everyone who comments makes the same joke.

  • i think u mean parallel, not perpendicular

  • Guys I am a Ultimate frisbee player for Australia. The way this guy describes the throw is very wrong is you are have problem with the frisbee falling and rolling. What you need to do is let the entire frisbee hang down, the flicking of the wrist will put spin on the frisbee making it level out during flight. Guys please thumbs up this post so more people can read this.

  • Lol 'halo ultimate frisbee committee'

  • @kaivilyn hilo.... its in hawaii bud.

  • yea uhhh buddy its nuthing like youre gunna shoot some one with a gun its more like ur gonna throw a frisby to someone.

  • that's a pretty ugly throw...

  • @ejch8456 Yeah one thing i have learned playing is that when throwing the flick you sort of want to level the end of the disk (the opposite side of where the hand is holding) a little toward the ground not totally PARALLEL like the backhand. And the longer the throw you want, the more you want to point the end of the disk toward the ground. Take it a step further and really good players step way to the side and release the disk inches off the ground.

  • Lmai when he says perpendicular he wants us to throw it at the ground... parallel

  • Does anyone els think this guy is gay thumbs up if im right

  • the new definition of perpendicularity :D

  • Where is the expert village clip about the difference between perpendicular and parallel? This hurts my head...

  • "Like you're going to shoot someone with a gun".

    ROFL.

  • Dear Expert Village,

I have been trying to throw my flick perpendicular to the ground, but the frisbee seems to keep dropping immediately to the ground and then rolls to my partner. What am I doing wrong?

  • he probably failed geometry

  • thank god that guy is not doing tutorials on angles

  • @frenchizedboi I absolutely agree. I faced some high school kids who though ultimate frisbee was a joke, and of course its all the cocky wannabe jocks of high school. The expressions were priceless when they got spanked.

  • shows that this guy failed his 7th grade geometry class -.-

  • wow. i can see really much from the video.... all i can see is the english subtitle.

  • Due to the CONSTANT movement in Ultimate, it is one of the hardest sports to endure out there!

I am still working hard on perfecting this throw. It really pumps my nads when it wobbles

  • frisbee is just as hard, if not harder then football or any other popular sport. frisbee involves lots of strategies, more running then any sport, and simply throwing a disc takes more skill then throwing a football, kicking a soccer ball or dribbling a basketball, mojo7807, you have no idea what the fuck your talking about

  • yeah its really good fun, but i think soccer is a bit harder skill wise, but i prefer frisbee way more fun

  • @typickoopakid

throwing a frisbee takes more skill than dribbling a basketball huh? yeah man, maybe your the one who doesnt know what they're talking about. gtfoh

  • @coptickid25 Throwing a frisbee is easy. Dribbling a basketball is easy. Passing a frisbee accurately during a game is WAY harder than dribbling a basketball during a game.

Passing a frisbee vs. shooting a basketball is debatable though.

  • @capian1 dont get me wrong i love ultimate frisbee, its a mad fun sport. but idk with a defender in you dribbling and passing and actually being somewhat coordinated in ball is tough

  • @coptickid25 Yeah, I'd say throwing a disc paralell to the ground takes more skill than bouncing a ball up and down on the ground. I'd also say I've played both sports competetively, so you can shut up.

  • @hardcoreclay1 thats why NBA players make millions for their careers, and professional frisbee players, oh wait... thats right nevermind. your right though, frisbee is more difficult. -__-

  • @coptickid25 Contrary to popular belief, publicity is NOT equal to skill.

  • @coptickid25 Ultimate Frisbee is probably the most difficult sport there is, right up there with Soccer & Basketball. Watch a hardcore match, idiot. Besides, in Ultimate, you've got to learn how to recognize wind patterns, all types of other things. The greatest athletes in the world are accomplished Ultimate players. You would have to be blind if you say otherwise.

  • @coptickid25 And learning how to work wind patterns & connect a forehand toss accurately on a regular basis is one of the most difficult things to master in all of sports, MUCH harder than anything associated with the game of basketball (LMFAO)

  • If you think this SPORT is so stupid, then why are you watching this video?!?!

  • Hi guys,

I've been playing Ultimate casually for a few months now and would like to know if there are any OFFICIAL rules & regulations on kit that you're allowed to wear/use?

I'm quite intereset on any regulation regarding the type of shoes you can use as well as glove usage.

  • I knew this guy would be wearing socks like that.

  • go play a real sport

  • @mojo7807 I bet I could out perform you in any sport, including ultimate.

  • lol yeah, right, out-violin me maybe. Throwing a frisbee isn't a sport.

  • @mojo7807 play a real game of ultimate and then you might be able to talk

  • @mojo7807 You couldn't even think about keeping up with me on a sports field. I would run circles around you, and through you.

  • Best sport ever, your a douche. figure it out or get out

  • @mojo7807

i bet your a virgin too? faggot, ultimate players can out run, out jump anybody

  • I can not flick throw at all but i am very accurate with the classic throw

Anybody know about the different frisbee weights cause im interested in heavy frisbees

  • @DjPyro2010 175 grams is the standard weight for ultimate

  • I use 3 fingers on the bottom

  • do you lube first?

  • It's not perpendicular btw, It's parallel to the ground.

  • @nothazzz maybe everything is turned sideways in his world.

  • nice flick!

  • hey got any pointers for throwing a flick cuz if i get it withou tmoving my arm there isnt enough power

if i get it with enough power it has no control so yea... be nice

  • you shouldn't worry about power, worry about flicking your wrist to put more spin on it

  • Is there much difference between the flick and the forehand throw?

  • flick is useful when you are being defended, and can also be thrown at a much faster speed.

  • no they're the same throw.

  • no there the same people just call it flick cuz you flick it with wrist to launch

  • the reason i ask is because i can throw a forehand bomb, but it comes out slow. The flick comes out in half the time but doesn't go nearly as far.

  • they're the same, just a different name

  • it's the same throw, with a different name.

  • yo juego ultimate desde aki de venezuela xD! margarita kien hable español q avise

  • I throw like this, but I don't keep the two fingers under the Frisbee together like he did, I spread them apart but make sure I keep my middle finger up against the side of the inside of the Frisbee

  • Spreading your fingers on the flick grip gives you a fair amount more touch and control on the disc, but will give you problems when you try to stretch out and throw flick hucks (long bombs). With sufficient practice, the fingers together grip gives better spin and distance, and is largely superior to fingers separate.

  • you mean parallel, not perpendicular?

  • The thumb is representing the hammer of a gun being cocked and fired.

  • I didn't know people pull a gun's trigger with their thumb? XD

  • this guy clearly does not know how to use a gun

  • i love frisbee

but this guys makes me want to hate it

  • why?

  • 0:38 u have to do what with ur wrist? :|

  • cock it... like a gun grow up.

  • good throw but he didnt do it like he described :)

  • perpendicular lol!

  • Phish concerts*

  • well now you know how to flick

  • "this is what causes it to fly in a stable motion". Still not the best choice of words but no need for such anger

  • lol he keep saying "perpendicular to the ground" when it is parallel!

  • lmoa "kinda like your gonna shoot somebody with a gun" damn u old serial killer

  • lmao i said "lmoa" wooooo

  • i think he means parallel

  • thats exactly what i was thinking :)

  • i was a little confused too

  • I place my pointer finger in the center of the frisbee to form an "L" shape with my middle finger. Is this wrong? I still get really accurate, long throws with this.

  • doesnt matter. do what is right

  • Comment removed

  • this was done wrong.. he thre it too high in the air.. its suppose to go stright, not up in the air..

  • The angle of the camera is the problem. The guy knows how to throw, but it looks like his camera is on a tripod, so as the frisbee passes it, it appears to go high. It would probably be clearer if there were another angle, or a camera operator.

  • It depends on the purpose. All throws can be used in different ways depending on the cuts and intention..

  • like if your teammates are taller, go for high throws, if they are short, they have to get well open and you have to throw it so it doesn't go high and get hang time

  • That was so awesome!

  • lol perpendicular is+

    Parralel is =

  • funniest ulti video ever

  • dude, its PARALLEL to the ground, not perpendicular.

  • upside down hammer throw!

  • i don't think ive ever attempted to shoot anyone with a gun, but i'm still quite competent with a forehand flick...

  • every time he says "perpendicular", replace with "parallel".....

  • wobble wobble wobble lol

  • lol. maybe the throw was swilly cuz he had to throw over the camera?

  • omgggggg wtf lmao so bad

  • this bideo sucks so hard the dude talks like a dick lol

  • hows that perpendicular Geometry=F-

  • he is making it wayyyyy to difficult i play ultimate and its alot easier then he is telling you how and when he threw it it was a horrible throw

  • Lol perpendicular..

  • ...just like you're going to shoot someone with a gun...

  • cool thx for the teach. i wished the ultimate frisbee teams in high schools teach proper ways to throw. its like Ok straight foward lets get onto it.

  • "Helllloooo".

  • fuck u i hope u die

  • I have noticed that when you throw a flick right handed you tend to let the disk droop due to the tendency of it wanting to rotate counterclockwise. I grip it with my index down the middle of the disk but I have been told that some of the more advanced players put there fingers together for more spin and less power but I think mine has enough spin can somebody give me an argument on some of the benefits of putting your fingers together?

  • to me putting my fingers together gives me more power, but i like to throw it like you because there is more control.

  • the proper grip for a forehand is to have the forefinger pointing to almost the middle of the disc and the middle finger to run round the edge of the disc with the thumb over the top . you dont hold it like that but not with 2 fingers together like that. you ease the snap effort of the wrist by using your middle finger to help aid the spin of the disc. as people that play will know spin is more imporant than power .

  • You can get plenty of spin from putting two fingers in the rim. It's just a matter of preference.

  • i cant watch these tutorials... these people suck so much. but A for effort, thats what really matters right?

  • What a wobbly release...

  • Hella wobble and of course he shows it in slow motion trying to act cool but it shows his lack of skill even more its not a rap video so no slow motion.

  • yes he messed up with perpendicular, but revolution and rotation in this instance mean the same thing so he's ok there...

  • haha he said perpendicular...

  • I tend to use the V for accuracy improvement, but good video overall (although the release WAS a little wobbly :P)

  • does anyone else call it a forehand?

  • yup

  • yes

  • yes

  • yes

  • Forehand or flick, yeah.

  • yup, but I hear flick just as much. easier to say in gameplay since it's just one syllable.

  • parallel to the ground me thinks...

  • ive seen the index and middle finger in a v position....which is recommended?

  • yeah i've seen that too. i use the v and it's helped me improve that throw so in my personal opinion i'd say the v

  • i tend too use the v position because its easier to stabalise especialy indoors. But occasionally i use the power grip for outdoor ultimate

  • power grip 100%!

  • Well it is near impossible to throw frisbees without hurting yur fingers. Trust me i played frisbee for 3months my fingers are now like total crap.

  • Right, perpendicular, got it...

  • "perpendicular to the ground" :P

  • He meant the other perpendicular, the one that's not perpendicular haha
