  • im on cipralex - (same as lexapro) 20 mg - its working amazing for me :) vid about it up on my channel

p.s - im also on trazadone 50 mg for sleeping at night and this combo is perfect

hope everyones getting better x :)

  • @thefluxcastle see i remember one day i tried trazadone and it made me feel like little bugs where crawling all over my body and i woke up every 30 minutes all night freaking out..i might have to look into cipralex though, lexapro is due for a generic version in March but that does not mean it will be 9.99 unfortunantly.

  • I on Lexapro nd I jus startes yesterday and Doctor prescrived me 20 but I only took ten half of that cuz Im scared so I wanna start with a low does. Today is mt second day and Iam sweeting alot nd im cold and I hot nd make me have like this anger energy so i feeel that the meds are getting into my system so i been jummping and hitting my punching bag ..

  • @WhiteMGirl It is normal. I sweat like crazy for the first 2 months. It destroys your short term memory over time. You become zombie like. Messes with your thyroid too. These things the doctor likes to leave out. Using alot of fish oil, vitamin d, and tyrosine helps to naturally deal with stress. Not sure if it is everyone but it is how I got off the crazy meds and now after discovering (on my own) how to lose weight I am doing great.

  • ive been on the high dosage of lexapro,"30mg" the first anti-depressent i have taken in 10 years, and have gained weight allso. it worked for about 3 months, then it went to shit, just like prozac when i was 14. im more pissed off by the weight gain, 3 months on it, and allmost 14 pounds. now im on cymbalta, the wiki on that med is crazy, seems to say that it dont have any proof its worth a shit for depression or anxiety, or has shown poor results.

  • @ProfMadnesS look up licorice root and garlic pills, your cortisol levels are probably off. I lost 10 lbs in a week. You can only do licorice root for 2 weeks then one off. It can give you high blood pressure. This weas after being off zoloft and lexapro after 2 years. Gained 50 lbs. Been off for 3 months. Haven't losrt an ounce til last week when I researched it.

  • this is how lexapro works ive been taking it for a year and i take a lot of more things and it does work a lot :) it calms me down alot and i love it i take 20mg

  • @GRACIEBJJ1 Tyrosine? i might have, or should i say i need to look into getting that since all this weight gain from all this medicine i have been taking.. i no longer get lexapro, so im left with its little destruction of 21 pounds!

  • I take 20mg and I prefer myself on Lexapro with 150mg wellbutrin and 5mg abilify and 100mg trazedone... Im happy. Pros 2 Lexapro! hate the weight imaginary gain overall Im good... btw/ U R Cute! lol!

  • @shaynasays666 welllll... thank u (blushing) lol** :0

  • @GRACIEBJJ1 yes he made me aware of 5htp but this is only temporary at best.. coming off lexapro is easy and the only thing you might get is being a little irratble, "whooshy headaches" not real headaches but kinda feels like them.. ibuprofen took care of it.. all this is minor VERY minor compared to the dreadful Paxil withdrawal nightmare.. i did taper off lexapro slowly.. then took half (5mg) every other day, then every other two days..so forth.. now i have to fix this weight +22 lbs.

  • @GRACIEBJJ1 Now that i stopped Lexapro im taking Vit D, Fish oil capsules, 5Htp.. google it to look up there neat benefits.. although like lexapro.. you have to take these everyday to get the benefit.. i got this combo of natural meds from a Dr believe it or not lol. For my sleep i still take meds but my morning weight gaining lexapro was replaced with natural supplements.

  • yeah Lexapro does work good but don't stay on it more then a year because after a few years you'll start losing your short term memory. This happened to me twice. This last time is more severe because I was on it longer and my memory is still messed up after being off of it for over 6 months now. Also the side effect were brutal, for 2 months,,, brain zappers, headaches and horrible mood swings. I acted ways in which I never had before and hated myself for acting so moody but I couldnt help it.

  • at 2:20

    what was that?

  • @jtrujil513 had to turn up the volume to remember, I thumped the computer desk when I realized how I much I was saying you know.

  • @kenxx30252 do you really lose your sex drive? ...

  • lexapro does work for me, one week i ran out, i was suicidal and crying ALL the time. it was the worst feeling because i had been on it for so long that the depression and anxiety was just to much to handle because before lexapro i was unmediated for five years and was 'used to' the depression.

  • @1000mbr this guy did a video on lexapro and he said it caused brain damage, it made him crazy. what dose are you taking and what are the effects of the medicine anything serious?

  • I too was told that eventually i would be off lexapro but here i am 7 years later and still taking it. It is a wonderful drug. It has saved the lives of 2 bitches i wanted to kill. Stay onthe drug if you have too. It basically has no side effects other than low sex drive but hey i am an old guy.

  • @kenxx30252 lol.. well.

  • @masterpsychosis Good video. Yes I took it for 2 years straight.

I was also taking lorazpam however its spelt. Ands resperidon, as well as a allergy medication

I went cold turkey because I had gained 116 pounds in 1 1/2 years of filling my body with these pills.

I also quit smoking at the same time.

The effects were dizzy and depression and depersonalization or out of body experience for 1 week , than my body returned to normal.

Not that bad, just work out, keep your hands busy

  • drug dealers often give free samples, thats how you get hooked, they know in the long run you'll spend plenty

  • I'm glad to hear that you're feeling much better than what you were expecting due to your situation. This is actually the first day that I take Lexapro, and I feel GREAT! I didn't expect an instant effect, but I felt nothing but good feelings, always positive, etc...The doctor also gave me a 2 1/2 month supply (equal to about 10 sample boxes) and i'm glad he did. I hope the come down from Lexapro, when I eventually have to cut it, will be just as good.

  • @studiov2 yes the first few days make you feel great, but after that it numbs all your emotions or at least it does to me, so I notice even when I watch a sad movie.. but it helps during the time when you take this.. coming off this is easy and safe.. just mild headaches nothing serious.. my doctor says when its time to stop just take it every other day and then every three days, six days etc..

  • I have been dealing with IBS like symptoms for 1 year and 5 months it all started after a bad reaction to an antibiotic back in late oct 2009 called Macrobid which I was giving for a bladder infection.from that point forward my stomach hasn't been the same. In January of 2010 I was giving Citalopram was told m,y issues are really depression related. could barley tolerate 3 days on it. Fast forward to now I was just given escitalpram and I am concered it will have same effect. How was it for you

  • Lexapro works for me.....the house could burn down and I would be like, "Come on yall, let me get my purse" THE REAL CHILL PILL...I wonder will I ever be able to get off of it?

  • @ladylayla13 wow thats a strong comment lol, but yes its true. I pictured myself getting rear ended by someone else at a parking lot and usually it gets you all stressed and very mad but i would react now like "oh well, where's my insurance and camera".. coming off Lexapro is not as tricky as paxil.. just break them in half and take those for 2 or three weeks, then one every other day and thats it.. just some mild headaches that arent that bad, some ibuprofen takes care of that.

  • Thanks for posting this. Most people seem to only talk about the Lexapro and other SSRIs on the internet because they are having problems with it. That's made my research on the drug very terrifying. I've had it sitting here on my counter for about a month and I really don't want to try it. I'm afraid of how it might disrupt my work, which I'm doing fine at right now and don't want to mess up because I'm not feeling well from the side effects.

  • @jakethomps is it true it causes sexual dysfunction??

  • @NverEnoughDeathMetal Don't know yet. If I work up the nerve to start taking it, I'll report back on my own experiences. But yes, it's a significant side effect that varies from person to person, according to everything I've read.

  • @jakethomps " If I work up the nerve to start taking it"

    -

    me too.

  • @NverEnoughDeathMetal Well, finally did take it and I'm about a week in. Side effects are different for everyone, but they say this is one of the better drugs. Sex drive is a bit calmer, but maybe that's because of the side effects. But functionally I'm not having problems. It's doing something weird in the brain though, not sure how to describe it but I feel odd sensations of pressure and activity and my dreams are more vivid.

  • I take only 5 mg, exactly one hour before bedtime. Highly recommended if you're sensitive, and it makes you sleepy. ***If I take it too early in the evening, it will keep me awake. TAKE JUST BEFORE bedtime. Perfect !!! Sometimes I'll take it "every other night" for less side effects. It has a half life of a day and a half, and never had a problem. Just as effective.

  • This was very helpful, thank you. I was just prescribed this today for anxiety. I hope you are still doing well.

  • Paxil works well for me but there is some Side effects.

  • the paxil's workin great for me...some side Fx tho

  • I find the lexapro quite good, I've only been on it for a month and it certainly dulls the edge. I'm withdrawing at the moment because of a mix up with prescription and it's a bitch. Headaches, nausea and ready to start a fight with anyone. Hope new mess come through soon or i'll be back to square one.

    Have strength everyone.

I was on Paxil, which was a nightmare. This shit is crazy - it works better than Paxil and I have basically zero side effects. It doesn't do anything until the dose is correct and BOOM! It is like Brave New World shit, a great life hack. For panic attacks, most docs will give you Klonopin .5. It is a damn good combo, and I hate SSRI's and psychotropic drugs.

  • im on this too, i hate it tho, worked for a bit but seems to be less effective now

  • I am glad it helped you through your problem.

I just did celexa for a month and it didnt do anything at all. I didnt even have any side effects. My doctor just gave me 2 months worth of samples of lexapro this morning. Hopefully it makes me more energetic and motivated

  • @RandomMonster yes it is better than clexexa if you ask me, two months into it and you should feel better.. just take it easy when stopping the medicine.. some weird mild headaches..

  • what about libido did it affect it??

  • @Mendelevium146 well its different for most, in my case it did not affect me at all.. maybe just a little sometimes but nothing no where near like Paxil did for me. It was never a concern really.

  • Lexapro just makes me tired, lethargic and completely unable to orgasm. The panic attacks are just as bad for me.

  • Cipralex (escitalopram) has done me a lot of good for OCD.

    Only a few issues:

It gives slight bellyache if taken too long before food.

If I miss a day or more of pills I get very dizzy.

After taking it for over a year you have to come off them gradually. Dropping from 20mg to 10 was fine. But there were all sorts of obsessions and depressing thoughts popping up when taking less tablets per week.

Otherwise it helped greatly with cognitive-behavioural therapy i.e. confronting feared situations.

  • I just got put on lexapro but i am TERRIFIED to take it because of the side effects and whatever else that could happen, when you take it did u get any?

  • @AlexxisIrene theres not much that i noticed when you are on it, although everybody is different, stopping the medication cold turkey not a good idea.. in my case i tapered off and it was easy.. just some headaches that where very minor.. a little irratable nothing to scary compared to coming off of Paxil. I gained a little weight, and slept better.

  • I definitely understand the way it can help out. But try to remember that the problem lies not only within us, but around us as well. I usually try to cycle off about once a year just to give the liver a break, and the emotional trauma can be challenging. Doing this now and again gives me fresh insights on my feelings even during the vacation months when I am "bubbly". Good luck. Oh, and btw, I think your doctor kicks butt to give you that for free.

  • @unholyimage intersting advice and good points!

  • lexapro wasnt workin for me so i just stoped takin it and started takin xanax again cause benzo's are the ONLY drug that helps..

  • I was on Lexapro for about 3 years wih dose adjustments because it suddenly stops working and makes symptoms worse, bear in mind how long I was on it. Each time I required a higher dose and I started having trouble coping with everything. In 2008, May, I had a TIA (like a stroke) an ever since I was set on lexapro and switched to other SSRIs and Benzos during my recovery which is still ongoing. Withdrawal form Lexapro (3rd generation of prozac derivates) was and still is hell. Send me a message

  • LEXAPRO IS THE GREATEST THING EVER KNOWN TO MANKIND

  • Hiya i'm on mirtazapine 45mg and diazepam 2mg, my doctor put me venlafaxine to take in the mornings and i went through hell with it. I was gonna ask my doctor about lexapro is it for anxiety????

  • @6917coxy it helps for anxiety yes.. in situations where i would normally get a panic attack or some anxiety, Lexapro kinda numbed it a bit.. i guess to describe it gave me a dont worry feeling its ok.

  • I started take it yesterday after a nervous breakdown. Im better now a bit, i still cant learn, cant do anything.

USA has really ridiculous Healt system. In Hungary i paid about $5.32 for Cipralex (its the trade mark of Lexapro in Europe) and only $1 for xanax. I could pay for these even though im just a student.

How much are these in the USA?

Im really happy for your vid. Its the first in youtube that says this stuff is working. You give me some hope!

    Thank you very much!

  • im glad u are better thats how prozac works for me

  • Thanks for the video. please let me know about the side effects.

    Take care and stay safe.
